2023 Rolex Paris Masters Odds, Picks, and Tennis Betting Analysis

The Rolex Paris Masters, an ATP 1000 level event on indoor hard courts, is one of the last events of the season before the Nitto ATP Finals, which takes place at Accor Arena in Paris from October 30 to November 5. It’s the 51st edition of the tournament and, with €5,779,335 in prize money and 1,000 ranking points available, has attracted almost all of the top-20 players in the world.

The top eight players earn an automatic bye into the second round of the 56-player tournament. Holger Rune, the sixth seed who holds the eighth spot in the Nitto Race to Turin, is the defending champion. Hubert Hurkacz, Taylor Fritz, and Casper Ruud are chasing Rune for the final spot in the Nitto ATP Finals, which begins November 12.

Let’s take a closer look at the upcoming 2023 Rolex Paris Masters tournament so you can bet against the ATP betting lines.

Nitto ATP Finals Implications

With just two more events after this week and both being ATP 250 level events, this week in Paris is the best chance for any of the players on the outside looking in to stake their claim to a final eight spot in the Nitto ATP Finals. Hurkacz reached the final of the Swiss Indoors Basel last week and is now just 215 points back of Rune. Fritz and Ruud are also within striking distance of Rune and could surpass him – and potentially seventh-ranked Alexander Zverev – with a tournament victory.

There’s even a chance that someone like Tommy Paul (12th) or Alex De Minaur (13th) could break into the top eight with a victory in Paris, but a lot would have to go their way, including early exits for those ahead of them.

2023 Rolex Paris Masters | The Race for No. 1

The last spots in Turin aren’t the only things up for grabs in Paris this week. Novak Djokovic is playing for the first time since winning the US Open. The current world No. 1 has won three Grand Slams this season and would have already cemented the world No. 1 spot for the remainder of the year if he had played more this season. Instead, Carlos Alcaraz, who beat Djokovic in the Wimbledon final, can reclaim the top spot if he reaches the final.

Alcaraz finished last season as the top-ranked player in the world, whereas Djokovic held that distinction in each of the last two seasons. Both players have a bye to the Round of 32 and would potentially line up for a meeting in the finals.

2023 Rolex Paris Masters Betting Prediction | Underdog Picks

The smart money in Paris is on either Alcaraz or Djokovic, although there’s not a ton of value in betting on either of those players. Those looking further down the board can find value in players like Ben Shelton and Felix Auger-Aliassime.

Shelton, a 21-year-old American, is among the breakout stars in the 2023 ATP season. He won his first title in Japan last Sunday and was a semifinalist at the US Open. He opens the Paris Masters against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.

Auger-Aliassime, meanwhile, has had a difficult season but, for the second year in a row, is playing his best tennis at the end of the season. He defended his title at the Swiss Indoors last week, only losing one set in five matches while beating Rune and Hurkacz in consecutive sets in the semi-final and final, respectively.
