2024 Delray Beach Open Odds, Picks, and Tennis Betting Analysis

Held at the Delray Beach Tennis Center in Florida, the ATP 250 Delray Beach Open takes place from February 12-18. This year marks the 32nd edition of the hard court tournament and includes four players ranked inside the top-20 world rankings, including top seeds Taylor Fritz (No. 9) and Frances Tiafoe (No. 14). Both players are past champions here with Fritz defeating Miomir Kecmanovic in last year’s final and Tiafoe beating Peter Gojowczyk in the 2017 final.

Other top players in the draw include Kecmanovic, Adrian Mannarino, Dan Evans, and Matteo Arnaldi.

Let’s take a closer look at the upcoming 2024 Delray Beach Open tournament so you can bet against ATP betting odds along with a look at each of the top three seeds and a prediction for the final.

Delray Beach Open Top 3 Players

Taylor Fritz +225

Fritz, who received a bye into the second round of the tournament due to there being only 28 players, will play the winner of Nuno Borges and Dominik Koepfer. He just has to win that match to ensure a spot in the quarter-finals. Fritz had a strong showing in the Australian Open, scoring victories over Hugo Gaston and Stefanos Tsitsipas before losing to Novak Djokovic in four sets in the quarter-finals. He’s 6-2 overall this season, including United Cup and Davis Cup competition.

As the defending champion in Delray Beach, there will be plenty of pressure on Fritz to repeat. He’s one of eight Americans in the draw with potentially two others earning spots via qualification.

Frances Tiafoe +550

Tiafoe is among the most frustrating players on the ATP Tour as he can look like one of the best players in the world in one match and then completely fall apart and appear disinterested in another. He’s 2-2 this season after a disappointing showing at the Dallas Open, where he lost 6-1, 6-4 to Marcus Giron in the quarter-final. He lost in straight sets to Tomas Machac in the second round of the Australian Open.

The draw – and the hard court tournament – shapes up well for Tiafoe to get out of his slump, however. He’ll play the winner of Juncheng Shang and a qualifier in the second round and wouldn’t have an overly concerning third-round match either.

Tommy Paul +550

Tommy Paul is into the final of the Dallas Open against Giron, so it’s possible he’s a late withdrawal into the Delray Beach Open. He scored an impressive win over Ben Shelton in the semi-finals in Dallas and didn’t drop a set en route to the final. He reached the third round of the Australian Open before losing to Miomir Kecmanovic.

Should he follow through on his plans to compete in Florida, Paul would play the winner of Michelsen and a qualifier. He’s in the same half of the bracket as Tiafoe.

Delray Beach Open Final Betting Prediction

There’s a lot to like when betting on Tiafoe this week as he’s seemingly due for one of his hot stretches of play and he has a favorable draw. Expect him to get through the bottom half of the draw, where he could meet veteran Mannarino in the final.

ATP 250 Predictions: 2023 Delray Beach Open

Previous Betting News

The US swing of the ATP Tour continues this week with the Delray Beach Open in Florida. But before the event began, the draw took a hit as No. 7 seed John Isner and Dallas Open champion Yibing Wu both withdrew. Wu beat Isner in the Dallas final in a three-set match on Sunday that took more than three hours, and both players cited exhaustion in skipping this event.

The field is also without Frances Tiafoe, who was the No. 2 seed in Dallas. However, Tommy Paul returns to action this week after his trip to the Australian Open Finals. Taylor Fritz is the top seed for the second week in a row, and J.J. Wolf was bumped up to a seed after Isner withdrew. Let’s take a look at some of the ATP odds to approach the Delray Beach Open at MyBookie.

Tennis Picks and Analysis: ATP 250 – Delray Beach Open

When: February 11th to Sunday February 19th
Where: Delray Beach, Florida, USA

Time: See the Schedule
TV: Tennis Channel / TSN / beIN Sport

The Favorites

An American has made the finals in seven of the last nine years at the Delray Beach Tennis center. However, the only past champion in the field is Jack Sock (2017), while the last two winners, Cameron Norrie, and Hubert Hurkacz, are playing elsewhere this week.

Fritz and Paul are the top two seeds and the top favorites to win this event. Fritz lost in the semifinals to Wu as the top seed in Dallas last week, while Paul hasn’t played on tour since the Australian Open finals loss to Novak Djokovic.

Denis Shapovalov is the No. 3 seed, but he lost early last week in Dallas. Yoshihito Nishioka is the No. 5 seed, and he reached the finals in 2020, falling to Reilly Opelka.

No. 8 seed Ben Shelton is a nice dark horse to back in this event. Fresh off a run to the Australian quarters, where he lost to Paul, Shelton is familiar with the Florida weather and courts.

Shelton -125

Speaking of Shelton, the former Florida Gators NCAA Champion is -125 to win his first-round match against Marcos Giron (+100). The two have never played, with this being Shelton’s first full year on the ATP Tour.

Giron is 5-4 in 2023, and the California native lost to Fritz last week in Dallas in three sets. Shelton took time off after the Australian Open run, and he should be well-rested for his return to the courts this week. His big serve and powerful strokes provide a big advantage on the Delray hard courts as he moves on against Giron.

Verdasco +140

Of all the first-round matches in Delray Beach on Tuesday, the one between wild card Fernando Verdasco and journeyman Radu Albot has the closest odds. Albot, a 33-year-old Moldovan who is ranked 113th, is the favorite at -175. Verdasco, a 39-year-old Spaniard ranked 133rd in the world, is +140 as the underdog.

Both were out early last week in Dallas, with Albot losing to Wolf and Verdasco falling to Mackenzie McDonald. Albot is 1-2 this season, with a first-round win last week, and Verdasco is 0-3.

These two have met four times, with Verdasco winning each time. They went three-sets last year in the Estoril qualifiers and also went three sets at the Madrid Masters in 2019. Verdasco had a straight sets win at the 2019 Australian Open, the only meeting on a hard court, and won in two sets in 2016.

2016 Delray Beach Open ATP Odds Tournament Information

What: 2016 Delray Beach Open
When: February 15 – 21 2016
Where: Delray Beach, FL, U.S.A
Venue: Delray Beach Stadium and Tennis Center

What is the Delray Beach Open?

The annual Delray Beach Open is the world’s only 10-day tennis event that combines the ATP World Tour and ATP Champions Tour event. The event is also one of only 11 ATP events in the US and it consists of single-elimination singles and doubles events, a fan-favorite tournament that usually features a nice blend of top-ranked men’s professionals in the world, as tennis fans get to enjoy award-winning festivals and events that includes a buzzing nightlife, shopping and eclectic boutiques, among other pleasurable enjoyments.

This year’s event, the 24th edition, features an exciting list of ATP World Tour stars signed for the tour, including the top 20 ranked duo of Bernard Tomic and Kevin Anderson, alongside defending champion Ivo Karlovic, together with a strong supporting cast that includes early signees, Grigor Dimitrov, Milos Raonic, Juan Martin del Potro and Tommy Haas.

Meanwhile, the ATP Champions Tour six-player field includes a US team that constitutes James Blake, Aaron Krickstein and Mardy Fish (a former Top 10 player on the ATP World Tour and winner of the Delray Beach Open in 2009), who will be playing an international team constituted of Mark Philippoussis, Greg Rusedski and Sebastien Grosjean.

Top Favorite Picks in the 2016 Men’s Delray Beach Open

Ivo Karlovic: Had a strong performance to win last year’s Delray Beach Open ATP World Tour, so whoever wants to win this year’s singles event must go through him.

Kevin Anderson: Currently ranked No. 12 in the ATP and a Delray Beach resident with tons of experience. Playing in front of a homely crowd will make him a fan-favorite, something that could see the 2012 Delray Beach Open go the distance in the tournament for another win.

Milos Raonic: He is currently No. 14 in the world and boasts of a stellar reputation that includes winning nine ATP titles in 16 finals. This past weekend, Raonic defeated Roger Federer in the Brisbane International final, and in 2014, he climbed as high as world No. 4, so he will be a player to watch.

Bryan Brothers (Bob and Mike): The twins are famed for their havoc-wreaking ways in the doubles, where they have won a record 109 doubles titles together, including winning last year’s Delray Beach Open doubles event. They should be the favorites to win the 16-player doubles field this year.

Best Sleeper Picks in 2016 Men’s Delray Beach Open

Juan Martin Del Potro: After his injuries limited him to playing in only six tournaments since 2014, Del Potro, the 2009 US Open champion, announced via YouTube that he will be returning to the ATP World Tour in February at the Delray Beach Open. The Argentine said he feels he is ready to return to the highest level of the game, and will take a wild card spot in the Delray Beach Open. In addition to winning the 2009 US Open, Del Potro has won 18 tour titles. In 2012, the 27-year-old tennis star became the first Argentine to win an Olympic medal in the men’s individual tennis competition, beating current world No. 1 Novak Djokovic for the bronze.

Grigor Dimitrov: Had a solid 2015 season that saw him play in the Wimbledon semifinals and narrowly finish just outside of the world Top 10 at No. 11.

Bernard Tomic: Currently ranked at No. 18 and finished 2015 with the highest ranking of his career.
