Betting 2024 US Open Tennis Tournament

We have reached the final weekend of action at the 2024 US Open as it’s time for the finals to take place.

It will be the women that are playing on Saturday, but then it’s time for the men on Sunday.

There are a couple of interesting matchups set to take place, and it will be worth betting on each of the upcoming matches.

Here is a look at the US Open Finals set to take place, and the bets that you are going to want to make.

Writer’s Picks fo the Finals of the US Open

Sabalenka Hasn’t Been Stopped

When the betting odds to win the US Open Championship came out on the women’s side of things, it looked like there were only a few women in the mix.

Aryna Sabalenka was one of the early betting favorites to win the US Open, and she is still in the running on Saturday.

Sabalenka will have to win in a tough environment on Saturday as American Jessica Pegula will be facing her.

Pegula was not expected to get to the finals, but she has played some terrific tennis up to this point.

When looking at the betting odds to win the US Open Finals, it’s pretty clear that the oddsmakers believe that the run for Pegula is going to stop.

Sabalenka is a huge betting favorite at -330, and she just has played so well up to this point.

It is a good decision to take Pegula at +4.5 when looking at the spread, but she just won’t be able to come away with a win.

It’s going to be Sabalenaka that wins the US Open as she is playing so well.

Interesting Men’s Matchup

The US Open men’s tournament has been extremely fun to follow so far, and that’s going to create a ton of excitement heading into the finals.

This is going to be a matchup between Jannik Sinner and Taylor Fritz, and these tennis players are at very different stages of their career.

Sinner is now a player that is considered a favorite in every single tournament that he plays in, and he was dominant in his semifinals matchup.

He did get injured a bit in that match, and that is something to monitor ahead of this match on Sunday.

Taylor Fritz will have a massive following on Sunday as the American has been playing some inspired tennis.

He defeated a fellow American in the semifinals as he pulled off a comeback win over Frances Tiafoe.

Now that this finals matchup has been set, it’s time to start making some predictions on what will happen on Sunday.

Even though Fritz is coming into this matchup with a ton of momentum, he is still a big underdog at +260.

This could be a great opportunity to cash in on some value though, as the injury to Sinner is going to create some issues for him.

With a massive crowd ready to respond to every play, jump on the odds at +260 to win the US Open.

Emma Raducanu Eyeing Her First Grand Slam Title

Reaching the grand finals of a Grand Slam tennis tournament is never easy. However, you wouldn’t be able to see that if you took a look at the road, Emma Raducanu took en route to her career-first Grand Slam finals.

The 18-year-old British tennis star has been simply phenomenal in her debut appearance at the U.S. Open and has cruised past some of the best tennis players in the world to book a ticket for the finals. And while you can be impressed with any tennis player who reaches the final stage of a Grand Slam tournament, it’s even more impressive if they manage to do it starting from the qualifiers.

As world no.150, Raducanu had to start her journey to the big stage in the 2021 U.S. Open qualifiers, where she breezed past her competition with ease. The 18-year-old first won against Bibiane Schoofs (6-1, 6-2), to which he added two more straight-set wins against Mariam Bolkvadze (6-3, 7-5) and Mayar Sherif (6-1, 6-4).

After making it through the qualifiers with flying colors, the 18-year-old tennis prodigy eased past her U.S. Open opponents. She secured six straight-set wins against the likes of Stefanie Voegele (6-2, 6-3), Zhang Shuai (6-2, 6-4), Sara Sorribes Tormo (6-0, 6-1), Shelby Rogers (6-2, 6-1), Belinda Bencic (6-3, 6-4), and Maria Sakkari (6-1, 6-4), who she eliminated from the semi-finals on Friday.

Raducanu has made history by becoming the youngest British tennis player to reach the U.S Open finals in the Open era. She is now only one step away from winning her first Grand Slam Trophy.

The Unstoppable Teen Sensation Leylah Fernandez

While Raducanu’s road to the 2021 U.S. Open finals is impressive, it’s Leylah Fernandez, whose path to her career-first Grand Slam finals took the world by storm. The 19-year-old Canadian tennis star’s run might not have been as perfect as of Raducanu, who won all of her matches in straight sets; however, Fernandez more than made up for that by eliminating some of the biggest tennis stars.

Sher started her road to glory with a 2-0 sweep of Ana Konjuh (7-6, 6-2), to which he added another sweep of Kaia Kanepi (7-5, 7-5) in round two. In round three, Fernandez eliminated the current world no.3, Naomi Osaka, in a three-set thriller (5-7, 7-6, 6-4); however, she didn’t stop there.

In round three, Fernandez edged past Angelique Kerber (4-6, 7-6, 6-2) and then went on to defeat two of the biggest favorites to win the whole thing – Elina Svitolina (6-3, 3-6, 7-6), and Aryna Sabalenka (7-6, 4-6, 6-4), who she eliminated from the 2021 U.S. Open in the semi-finals.

On her road to the finals, Fernandez has effectively eliminated three of the top-five tennis players on the WTA Rankings. The only exceptions are Ashleigh Barty, who got stopped by Rogers in R3, and Karolina Pliskova, who crashed out of the quarter-finals against Sakkari.

Fernandez wrote history and became the first tennis player since Williams in 2012 at Wimbledon to eliminate three rivals, ranked top five at a Grand Slam.

Fernandez’s next and final opponent of the 2021 U.S. Open is Raducanu, who she will meet with on Saturday, September 11. It will mark the first time in more than two decades that the U.S. Open finals will be contested between two teenagers.

The last time that happened was in 1999 when 17-year-old Serena Williams took on an 18-year-old Martina Higgins and won with 6-3, 7-6.

I have read enough, I need to place my bet now. What to do?

2019 US Open Men’s Tennis Finals Odds, Medvedev vs Nadal Betting Preview and Prediction

Previous Betting News

Rafael Nadal searches for his fourth US Open and first since 2017 when he takes on up and coming superstar Daniil Medvedev on Sunday, August 8. Medvedev heads into the U.S. Open on a serious streak. Can Nadal break that streak and take down one of the best young tennis players on the planet? Check out US Open betting odds, a preview, and a free pick for Nadal-Medvedev!

2019 US Open Men’s Tennis Finals Odds, Medvedev vs Nadal Betting Preview and Prediction

When: Sunday, September 8 at 4:00pm ET

Surface: Hard
TV: ESPN /ESPN2 / ESPN+
Live Stream: ESPN+
Betting Odds: Rafael Nadal -625 / Daniil Medvedev +361

Why Daniil Medvedev is a good bet +361

Novak Djokovic entered the U.S. Open as the favorite. Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer were the second and third choices. Daniil Medvedev was a solid +1200 fourth choice to win the U.S. Open.

He’s proven the oddsmakers correct. Medvedev entered the final major of the year having upset Novak Djokovic in the semifinals at the Western & Southern Open. Daniil beat David Goffin for the title. He had a hot hand entering the tournament and although he’s struggled in spots, he’s gotten past every one of his opponents. He faces Nadal after an excellent 7-6 (7-5), 6-4, 6-3 win over Grigor Dimitrov. Medvedev appears to be getting stronger. That gives him a shot to upset Rafa on September 8.

Why Rafael Nadal is a good bet -625

Nadal is the last of the Big 3 standing. He entered the tournament as the second choice behind Novak Djokovic. Rafa made a statement early on, dominating Jon Millman 6-3, 6-2, 6-2. After advancing past Thanasi Kokkinakis via a walkover, Nadal beat Hyeon Chung 6-3, 6-4, 6-2.

He lost is only set of the U.S. Open in Round 4 versus Marin Cilic. Cilic took the second set 6-3. Save for that loss, Nadal has been perfect. He easily wore down Matteo Berrettini in the semifinals. Although offering low odds, Rafael Nadal appears set to take yet another major championship on Sunday.

Form Last 6

W – vs. (24) Matteo Berrettini
W – vs. (20) Diego Shwartzman
W – vs. (22) Marin Cilic

US Open Men’s Tennis Finals Betting Trends for Medvedev vs Nadal

Rafael Nadal is 6-0 SU in his last 6 matches
Rafael Nadal has won 7 sets in a row
Rafael Nadal is 13-1 SU in his last 14 sets played
Daniil Medvedev is 8-1 SU in his last 9 sets played
Daniil Medvedev is 6-0 SU in his last 6 matches
Daniil Medvedev is 5-0 SU in his last 5 sets played

2019 US Open Men’s Tennis Finals Betting Analysis:

Medvedev and Nadal are both playing exceptionally well. The last time the two faced off, though, Nadal dominated. That was at the Rogers Cup Finals in Montreal, Canada back in early to mid-August.

Rafa beat Daniil 6-3, 6-0. Medvedev, by his own admission, admits that he was more immature back then. Although that might be the case, Nadal has a true physical advantage over Medvedev in this.

While Daniil Medvedev has played a total of 27 sets during the U.S. Open, Rafa has only played 17 total sets. The physical advantage has nothing to do with height, weight, or speed. It has everything to do with the fact that Daniil, even though he’s a decade younger, has had to play 10 more grueling sets. He, like Matteo Berrettini in the semifinals, will run out of gas against the great Rafael Nadal.

If Daniil battled a worse tennis player on Sunday, he’d still have trouble getting through the final match. Unfortunately for him, he battles one of the greats. Rafael Nadal will beat Daniil Medvedev in straight sets and win the 2019 U.S. Open Men’s Tennis Tournament.

U.S. Open Men’s Tennis Finals Pick: Rafael Nadal

2019 US Open Women’s Finals Odds, Williams vs Andreescu Betting Preview and Prediction

2019 US Open Women’s Finals Odds: Serena Williams -294 / Bianca Vanessa Andreescu +199

Why Serena Williams is a good bet -294?

On Saturday, Serena searches for her seventh U.S. Open title. She previously won the final major of the year in 1999, 2002, 2008, 2012, 2013, and 2014.

Williams is playing her best tennis of 2019. She dominated Petra Martic, Qiang Wang, and Elina Svitolina in three consecutive matches. All three of those players would have challenged Serena earlier this year. Svitolina, especially, had been playing well. The fact that Williams so easily disposed of her tells us that Serena’s ready for another major title.

Why Bianca Vanessa Andreescu is a good bet +199?

Andreescu, due to Simona Halep’s encouragement, turned pro in 2017. Since then, she’s already established herself as one of the top players in the world. In 2018, she took a couple of singles titles. Her breakout victory happened this year when she beat Angelique Kerber at the BNP Paribas Finals. Andreescu has an opportunity to solidify her position among the young group of women’s tennis players, a group that includes Cori Gauff, Naomi Osaka, and Amanda Anisimova. Bianca won’t let this opportunity pass her by.

2019 US Open Women’s Finals Betting Trends for Williams vs Andreescu

2019 US Open Women’s Finals Betting Analysis

Serena is going for her first singles title in the past couple of years. She had a strange US Open versus Naomi Osaka last year. Things shouldn’t be as strange this year, but just like last year, there are questions surrounding Williams’s ability to close the deal.

She struggled versus Simona Halep, appearing to have virtually no energy, at the Wimbledon Finals. At the Rogers Cup, Serena retired after Bianca Andreescu went up 3-1 over her in the first round.

That most definitely gives Andreescu an edge here. Although Bianca required 3 sets to beat Belinda Bencic in the semifinals, Bencic was hot having beaten Naomi Osaka in the fourth round. Andreescu is the play in what should be a great US Open Women’s Finals.

2019 US Open Women’s Finals Pick: Bianca Vanessa Andreescu

#17 Serena Williams -270 vs #20 Naomi Osaka +220

Serena Williams returns to her second straight Grand Slam Finals on Saturday when she takes on up and comer Naomi Osaka. Serena hopes the outcome is different. As a favorite in the Wimbledon’s Finals, Serena failed to win more than 3 games against Angelique Kerber in either set. Kerber took home the Wimbledon trophy plate. Will history repeat itself?

Maybe not if Williams can use her immense power to overtake Osaka the way she did overtaking Anastasija Sevastova. Sevastova had few memorable moments in the semifinals. Serena provided plenty. She dominated Sevastova with both her stunning backhand and unreal forehand. Serena sent power shot after power shot across the net. Sevastova had no time to react to any of those shots.

Osaka played with a lightness in her 6-2, 6-4 win over Madison Keys that should set her up to push Serena on Saturday. She showed great energy moving into specific spots on the court while laying perfect shots down lines and into corners. Naomi’s key to pull off the upset will be how well she reacts to the speed Serena puts on her shots.

Serena’s game, like Tiger’s on the golf course until this year, is power. Power leads to speed. Anticipation and quickness takes away Serena’s power. That’s how Osaka can pull off the upset. She can use the lightness on her feet she displayed in beating Keys to get into position much quicker than Sevastova got into position for Serena’s return shots.

Maybe because she’s only 20-years-old, she also appears to process things slightly quicker. In one shot against Keys, Osaka determined while moving to the shot that Keys had overstepped to the opposite side. Osaka sent the shot right down the line. Keys had no chance to reach it.

Shots like that could put Osaka over the top.

2018 U.S. Open Women’s Finals Pick: Naomi Osaka

2018 U.S. Open Tennis Men’s Semifinals Odds & Preview

Previous Betting News

Odds makers tagged Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic favorites in their respective U.S. Open Tennis Men’s Semifinals matches on Friday, Sep. 7. Will the top two tennis players in the world march to Sunday’s finals? Keep reading for 2018 U.S. Open Men’s Semifinals odds, analysis, and picks!

2018 U.S. Open Tennis Men’s Semifinals

When: Sep. 7 at 10:00 am ET

#1 Rafael Nadal -160 vs #13 Juan Martin del Potro +135

Nadal, the #1 ranked player on the ATP, hasn’t been as sharp at the U.S. Open as some might believe. In Round 3, he struggled to a 5-7, 7-5, 7-6 (9-7), 7-6 (7-3) win over #23 Karen Kachanov. In Round 4, he had to win a tiebreaker game against Nikoloz Basilashvili while Dominic Thiem pushed Rafa to a 5-set match in the quarterfinals. Rafa won both Game 4 and Game 5 via tiebreaker.

del Potro had a much easier time against #11 John Isner than Nadal had against #9 Thiem. del Potro had to win two tiebreaker games in the 4-set match, but he breezed past Isner in the other two sets 6-3 and 6-2.

Head-to-head, Rafa’s beaten Juan Martin 11 of 16 matches. He’s also won the last 3 head-to-head matches between the two players. del Potro could turn the tables on Nadal in this match, though. He’s playing at a somewhat higher level than Rafa while at Wimbledon he beat Rafa 6-4 in one set and pushed Rafa to a tiebreaker in another set.

Odds are right on Juan Martin del Potro. He’s the play.

2018 U.S. Open Men’s Semifinals Pick: Juan Martin del Potro

When: Sep. 7 at 10:00 am ET

#21 Kei Nishikori +415 vs #6 Novak Djokovic -565

Kei Nishikori hasn’t beaten Novak Djokovic since the 2014 U.S. Open Men’s Semifinals. The 28-year-old Japanese player bounced back from a terrible 2-6 first set loss to #6 Marin Cilic in the quarterfinals to beat Cilic 6-4, 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 6-4.

Novak Djokovic has lost only a single set during the tournament. That happened back in Round 1 when unbeaten Marton Fucsovics beat Djokovic 6-3. Dojokovic dominated Fucsovics 6-4, 6-0 after the set loss.

I always look to play dogs, but Novak Djokovic hasn’t played a match beyond 3-sets since Round 2. He dominated #26 Richard Gasquet, Joao Sousa, and John Millman. Nishikori’s a step up from those players.

Unfortunately, Nishikori heads into this semifinals off a tough match against Martin Cilic while Djokovic breezed through his last 3 matches. That gives Djokovic an extra edge.

2018 U.S. Open Men’s Semifinals Pick: Novak Djokovic

2016 US Open Women’s Final Expert Pick

Previous Betting News

If you didn’t know before, now you know. Karolina Pliskova can apparently beat anyone on the WTA Tour these days!

Here’s a Look at the 2016 US Open Women’s Final Expert Pick

Karolina Pliskova +3 Angelique Kerber -3

Moneyline

Karolina Pliskova +150 Angelique Kerber -170

The Breakdown

The 5-foot- 8-inch Angelique Kerber has gone 47-14 this year with two titles, including the 2016 Australian Open. Kerber also reached the finals at Wimbledon before losing to Serena Williams just two months ago.

The 6-foot- 1-inch Karolina Pliskova is 33-16 this year with two titles, including Cincinnati – where she laid a huge smackdown on…Angelique Kerber.

While Kerber holds a narrow 4-3 edge in seven career meetings, Karolina Pliskova’s 6-3, 6-1 annihilation of Kerber in the finals at Cincinnati is cause for worry for the Aussie Open champ.

Analysis: I’m going on record right now to say that I love Karolina Pliskova and her chances of beating Angelique Kerber in this match. First and foremost, if I’m her coach, I’m telling her and reinforcing, that she that she can now, undeniably beat any player in the world after dispatching both Venus and Serena Williams in the same tournament. Not only that, but I’m telling Pliskova to simply use the same tactics that she did in her quick, 6-3, 6-1 obliteration of Kerber just a few weeks ago.

I know Kerber is the woman’s version of Novak Djokovic with her excellent court movement and defense, but Karolina Pliskova possesses one of the best serves in the game today and moves around the court more than adequately enough.

Total Games: 22

Analysis: With two of the last three meetings going the distance, I like this one to play over the 22-game Over/Under total as well. Expect a knock-down, drag-out thriller that Karolina Pliskova wins!

My Pick: Karolina Pliskova in Three Sets
