Betting 2024 US Open Tennis Tournament as it Reaches the End

There are just eight players remaining at the US Open in New York as the semifinals are set to begin for both the men and the women.

It’s already been a great year in the sport of tennis, and this has been an excellent event as well.

With just two matches taking place for both the men and women, now is going to be the perfect time to put together some great wagers for each event.

There are still some big names left standing, but there are also some surprising players that are looking for another big win.

Here is a look at the four matches and the top bets that you are going to want to make.

Writer’s Picks fo the Semifinals of the US Open

Pegula-Muchova In Surprising Matchup

Jessica Pegula and Karolina Muchova were not expected to reach the semifinals of the US Open, but each woman has played well enough to get to the semifinals.

Now only one of these players will be left standing, and this should be an interesting matchup.

Pegula is now the betting favorite to win this tennis match at -160, and she is not familiar with being in this position.

Muchova has been able to pull off some upset, and she will look for another one with odds at +130.

Go with the upset again in this one as Karolina Muchova will advance to the US Open Finals.

Sabalenka Continues to Cruise

While a number of the biggest names on the women’s side of things fell flat in this event, Aryna Sabalenka has continued to look sharp.

Sabalenka is now just two wins away from the US Open title, and she is a big favorite in her semifinal match with Emma Navarro.

Navarro is hoping to pull off a big upset in this event, and her odds are sitting at +325 to come up with another big win.

There will be plenty of people backing Navarro in New York, but taking Sabalenka at -450 is the way to go.

Sinner Can’t Be Stopped

It’s been an interesting few months for Jannik Sinner as he went through some tough moments.

He seems to have put everything behind him during this tournament as he is now a massive favorite in the semifinals.

The odds for Sinner are set at -650 ahead of this semifinals, and he will be taking on Jack Draper in this match.

Draper is hoping to play well enough to keep it close, but the odds set at +425 suggest that he can’t get that done.

Bet on the big favorite at -650 to win this match, and also take him at -6 ½ against the spread.

Fritz Looking For More Momentum

Taylor Fritz is turning into an American hero during this tournament at the US Open, and he is just one win away for the finals.

Fritz will be taking on Frances Tiafoe in the semifinals, and this should be an interesting matchup.

The betting odds are pretty tight for this matchup, but it is Fritz that is the betting favorite at -250 ahead of this one.

There is just so much momentum for Fritz at the US Open, and he is going to come up with the win.

023 US Open Odds for the Semifinals Matches: An All-American Final?

Previous Betting News

The US Open semifinals are set, and it appears to be a big weekend coming for the tennis world in New York. The men’s draw could see the third slam battle of the season between No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz and No. 2 Novak Djokovic.

And on the women’s side, a possible All-American final is still an option. Thursday is all about the women at the US Open, with both semifinals under the lights, and the men’s semis will come on Friday.

As always, MyBookie has the best US Open tennis lines for Thursday’s action from Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing Meadows, Queens, New York.

Is it Finally Coco’s Turn?

American teenager Coco Gauff has made a grand slam final, falling to Iga Swiatek at the 2022 French Open. This is her second semifinal, and she is favored at -204 to beat Karolina Muchova on Thursday. The Czech Republic star, who lost to Swiatek in this year’s French Open final, is +157 to reach the final.

Both players have grand slam experience with deep runs over the years. And most recently, they have both had to deal with Swiatek, but not at the US Open since the top seed fell in the fourth round to Jelena Ostapenko. Gauff easily dispatched Ostapenko in the quarters and now is one step away from a US Open Final.

These two have met one time, and that game last month in Cincinnati. That match was a final after Gauff knocked off Swiatek, and she rolled to the title, beating Muchova 6-3, 6-4. The big key in that match was that Gauff won 71% of her first serve points while Muchova won just 54%. That led to Gauff converting 5-of-8 break points while Muchova converted on just 3-of-9.

Gauff’s games line is -3.5, and the over is set at 21.5. The over is -118, and the under is +100. The match went under in Cincinnati, but the conditions this week are a lot hotter and more humid for both players. Even a night match will have weather issues, but the way Gauff is going, this seems to be all on her racket to win.

Sabalenka Favored Over Keys

To get the All-American final the US Open organizers and ESPN dream of, No. 17 Madison Keys will have to upset soon-to-be world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka. The No. 2 seed takes over the top spot from Swiatek, no matter what happens this weekend. Sabalenka won the Australian Open in January and can become the only player on the women’s tour with two slam titles this season.

Sabalenka is favored at MyBookie with a -330 moneyline, and she holds a 1-5 career record in slam semifinals. Keys is +242 at MyBookie, and she is 1-4 in slam semifinals, with a win at the US Open in 2017 before falling in the final.

These two have met three times, and Sabalenka holds a 2-1 advantage. They played in the quarterfinals at Wimbledon, and Sabalenka won easily, 6-2, 6-4. Keys’ win in the series came in Berlin in 2021 as she won in three sets, taking the final set 7-5.

Both players won their quarterfinal 6-1, 6-4, and their round of 16 match 6-1, 6-3. Sabalenka has yet to drop a set in the tournament, which brings the under 21.5 games at -111 into play. If you like Keys to win, the match is most likely to go three sets, and Keys +3.5 games is +105.

Serena Williams vs. Elina Svitolina

2019 US Open Odds: Serena Williams -285 / Elina Svitolina +204

Williams hopes to prevent being the latest favorites casualty at this surprising U.S. Open Tennis Tournament. On the men’s side, both Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic have already headed to the elongated showers. Of the stars, only Rafael Nadal and Daniil Medvedev remain.

On the women’s side, the favorite’s casualties have been worse. Naomi Osaka, Karolina Pliskova, Ashleigh Barty, and Simona Halep, have already taken their tennis rackets home. Serena Williams hopes she’s not the next victim to the favorite’s 2019 U.S. Open curse.

Unfortunately for Williams, she faces an opponent who has a victory against her. Svitolina beat Serena at the 2016 Olympics. Not only that, but Elina hasn’t lost a set yet during the 2019 U.S. Open. Her latest conquest was Johanna Konta, whom she dominated 6-4, 6-4.

Williams handled Qiang Wang 6-1, 6-0, and she’s definitely at the top of her game. However, Svitolina offers the much better odds while Serena has slowed down towards the end of major tournaments this year. Svitolina’s worth backing to knock out the remaining superstar on the women’s side.

US Open Women’s Semifinals Pick: Elina Svitolina

Bianca Vanessa Andreescu vs. Belinda Bencic

2019 US Open Odds: Bianca Vanessa Andreescu -153 / Belinda Bencic +116

Both Bianca Andreescu and Belinda Bencic have played marvelous tennis during the U.S. Open. Andreescu gets the oddsmaker’s vote in this semifinal matchup mainly because she’s 38-4 in singles matches this year.

Bianca showed great resilience in the quarterfinals when beating Elise Mertens in two straight sets after dropping the first set 3-6. Although that was impressive, it’s also one of the reason Belinda Bencic gets the nod in this.

Bencic has been on fire since knocking off Naomi Osaka. She beat the 1-seed 7-5, 6-4. Belinda had every right to take a backward step versus tough Donna Vekic in the quarters, but instead of doing so, she simply took care of business with a 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 victory. There’s no reason to believe Bencic doesn’t keep it going here. Andreescu showed some weakness in losing that first set to Mertens. Bencic will jump on her from the opening serve.

US Open Women’s Semifinals Pick: Belinda Bencic

Novak Djokovic Into the Semi-Finals

Novak Djokovic continued his quest for this 21st Grand Slam title with a commanding victory (3-1) against Matteo Berrettini. The two clashed on Thursday, in the quarter-finals, for the third time of the season.

But like their previous two meetings, this one ended in favor of the Serbian tennis star. Even though Berrettini started the game well and claimed the first set (7-5), he proved no match for Djokovic, who effortlessly won the remaining three sets.

The 20-time Grand Slam champion found his stride in the second set and crushed the young Italian with 6-2, to which he added another convincing 6-2 win in the third set. Berrettini showed some fight in the finals set of the day but again proved he can’t compete with the current no.1, who took an early 3-0 lead and never looked back.

Djokovic closed out the deal with 6-3 in the fourth set to secure a 3-1 victory and a ticket into the semi-finals. There, he will meet with no.4 seeded Alexander Zverev, who has cruised past Lloyd George Harris (3-0) on Wednesday.

Zverev and Djokovic last met at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, when Zverev eliminated Djokovic (2-1) from the semi-finals and denied him the “Golden Grand Slam.” It marked Zverev’s first victory against the Serb since 2018 and one that Djokovic will be eager to avenge on Friday.

Sakkari Eases Past Pliskova

Maria Sakkari won her 2021 U.S. Open quarter-final bout against Karolina Pliskova in straight sets (6-4, 6-4) and with that secured her career-first Grand Slam semi-finals appearance. It was a win not many expected; however, with the form Sakkari has been showing in New York, it wasn’t as shocking to see her take down the current no.4 in the world.

Prior to her win against Pliskova, Sakkari has already eliminated Marta Kostyuk (2-0), Katerina Siniakova (2-0), Petra Kvitova (2-0), and Bianca Andreescu (2-1), and is now set to face off against Emma Raducanu, who she will cross swords with on Friday.

This year marks Sakkari’s most successful season to date, having already made it to the semi-finals in France. Even though she crashed out of R2 in Wimbledon, the Greek tennis star proved to the world that she is an elite-level player with her showings at the 2021 U.S. Open, where she has never made it past R4 before.

Across her six appearances here, Sakkari’s best showing happened in 2020, when she made it to R4 when she proved to be no match for the eventual semi-finalist, Serena Williams (3-6, 7-6, 3-6). Before that, Sakkari has managed two R3 finishes, one R2, and two R1 exits in her first two appearances at the American Grand Slam in 2015 and 2016.

For Pliskova, this year’s elimination marks her ninth unsuccessful attempt to claim the U.S. Open title. She had already made it to the quarter-finals twice before (2017, 2018) and even reached the finals in 2016, when she lost to Angelique Kerber (3-6, 6-4, 4-6).

Sakkari’s next opponent, Raducanu, is ranked no.150 in the world, albeit she has been playing like a top-10 player at the 2021 U.S. Open. She has already eliminated the likes of Sara Sorribes Tormo (6-0, 6-1), Shelby Rogers (6-2, 6-1), and the Tokyo 2020 Olympics singles gold medalist Belinda Bencic (6-4, 6-4).

Given her form, Raducani seems more than ready to take down Sakkari and take one step closer to her maiden Grand Slam title.

ATP & WTA 2022 US Open Betting Update: Tiafoe and Caroline Garcia to the Semifinals

Previous Betting News

The quarter-finals in both the men’s and women’s singles draw concluded on Wednesday night with some of the best tennis we’ve seen thus far, which is surprising given the quality of competition to this point. It’s time to look at what should we expect heading into the semifinals matches so you can continue betting against the US Open Odds.

Updated 2022 US Open Betting Opportunities Heading Into the Semifinals

Quarterfinals Review

We’ve had surprises, upsets, Nick Kyrgios’ wild antics, and then some through the first five rounds of the Grand Slam. Stefanos Tsitsipas and Simona Halep’s early exits provided memorable moments, as did Serena Williams’ short-lived last run.

Then, as if that wasn’t enough, Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz played an instant classic in another match in what could be the next Federer-Nadal-type rivalry.

Sinner had previously beaten Alcaraz in their last two meetings this year, but the young Spaniard overcame a 2-1 deficit to win a five-set thriller and book his spot in the semifinals against American Frances Tiafoe, who has become the best story of the tournament. Alcaraz could earn the world No. 1 ranking if he advances to the final.

While there have been some shocking upsets in the women’s draw, the final four is an impressive field with three of the four players chasing their first Grand Slam title – all four men left are also chasing their first Grand Slam.

If anything, this year’s US Open could be remembered as a changing of the guard, especially on the ATP Tour, where either Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, or Roger Federer have won 61 of the last 76 Grand Slams.

Men’s Outright Odds

Carlos Alcaraz +100
Casper Ruud +260
Frances Tiafoe +400
Karen Khachanov +550

Tiafoe Chasing American Greatness

Frances Tiafoe was a longshot to win the US Open before the tournament began and is now a +400 favorite, with the third-shortest odds, to win. If he’s able to continue this magical run and win on home soil, he’ll be the first American male to win a Grand Slam since Andy Roddick in 2003.

Tiafoe is already the first American man to make the semifinals at the US Open since 2006. The 24-year-old is the world No. 26 but will obviously shoot up in the rankings after this. Tiafoe (+150) is the slight underdog against Alcaraz (-188), which is a testament to how well he has been playing.

Karen Khachanov (+150) meets Casper Ruud (-188) in the other semifinal. These should both be close matches, but an Alcaraz-Ruud final seems most likely.

Women’s Outright Odds

Iga Swiatek +125
Caroline Garcia +210
Aryna Sabalenka +450
Ons Jabeur +500

Garcia Can’t Be Stopped

Iga Swiatek is the betting favorite to win the US Open and has been since the start of the event. She’s played well but has been pushed to the limit in some of her matches. Caroline Garcia, though lower ranked, has been an absolute beast on the court not only this last week but the past month.

Garcia, coming off of a victory at the Cincinnati Masters, hasn’t lost a set through five matches at the US Open and has beaten formidable opponents like 2019 US Open champion Bianca Andreescu and Coco Gauff. She didn’t lose consecutive games until her quarter-final victory over Gauff 6-3, 6-4.

Garcia (-150) is the favorite in her match against Ons Jabeur (+120) and is a great value pick to win the tournament. Swiatek (-225) meets Aryna Sabalenka (+175) in the other semifinal.

2022 US Open Betting Update: Swiatek vs Jabeur Women’s Final, Men’s Semifinals Preview

Previous Betting News

The two US Open women’s semifinals took place last night at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City and, when the dust settled, we’re left with an ideal women’s final between two of the biggest and most consistent stars this season: Iga Swiatek and Ons Jabeur.

The men’s semifinals begin today at 3 p.m. EST with Karen Khachanov going head-to-head with Norwegian Casper Ruud. American favorite and underdog Frances Tiafoe takes on young sensation Carlos Alcaraz under the lights in the other semifinal on Friday. Let’s check out our US Open Betting update for the weekend action.

Updated 2022 US Open Betting Opportunities, Analysis, Odds, and Picks

Iga Swiatek (-188) vs Ons Jabeur (+162)

The women’s final is set for Saturday after Iga Swiatek, as expected, defeated Aryna Sabalenka 3-6, 6-1, 6-4. It hasn’t been an easy path for the world No. 1 as she has dropped the first set in two of her last three matches, but she has been able to dig deep and find another level.

Ons Jabeur, meanwhile, is into her second Grand Slam final of the year. The Tunisian became the first African player to make a Grand Slam final earlier this year at Wimbledon, but lost to Elena Rybakina.

Jabeur may be the betting underdog in this match, but she’s looked better through six matches in New York and looks more confident than ever. Jabeur has only lost one set all tournament and made quick work of Caroline Garcia 6-1, 6-3, in the semifinals. Garcia hadn’t dropped a set before that match.

Men’s Outright Odds

Carlos Alcaraz +100
Casper Ruud +260
Frances Tiafoe +400
Karen Khachanov +550

Karen Khachanov (+150) vs Casper Ruud (-188)

Few expected world No. 31 Karen Khachanov to make it this far and almost nobody gave him a chance against popular pick Nick Kyrgios in the quarter-finals – yet, here we are. Khachanov has a great serve, but Casper Ruud should match up well against the Russian.

Ruud, in his semifinal match, handled Matteo Berrettini’s booming serve with relative ease. He broke the Italian early and often and won the match in straight sets.

The runner-up at the French Open, Ruud is seeking to make his second Grand Slam final of the year and could also become the world No. 1 if he wins this match and Alcaraz loses in the other semifinal.

Carlos Alcaraz (-188) vs Frances Tiafoe (+150)

There hasn’t been a male American champion at the US Open since Andy Roddick in 2003. Before that was a decade of American dominance, with Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi winning multiple times in the 1990s. Even players like Michael Chang and Todd Martin made finals.

Tiafoe is already into the semifinals, marking the first time an American has advanced this far since Roddick in 2006. Tiafoe is the clear underdog against Alcaraz, who could become the number one player in the world if he wins this match (and Ruud loses), but will have the support of the home crowd and is riding an incredible wave of momentum – his last two victories were against Andrey Rublev and Rafael Nadal.

Alcaraz, however, has been one of the betting favorites all tournament and just defeated Italian Jannik Sinner in the quarter-finals. Sinner had defeated Alcaraz in their prior two matches. Now that he’s gotten over that hump, expect Alcaraz to put an end to Tiafoe’s magical run.

2023 US Open Odds for the Men’s Semifinals Matches

Previous Betting News

The final is set on the women’s side, but on Friday, the men take center stage for the semifinals. All eyes are on the top two seeds to see if Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic can set up another epic grand slam match in 2023. They met in the French Open semifinals and the Wimbledon final, with each player getting a win.

Meanwhile. 2021 US Open champion Daniil Medvedev and 20-year-old American Ben Shelton want to make some headlines of their own. MyBookie has the best US Open lines for Friday’s action from Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing Meadows, Queens, New York.

2023 US Open Odds for the Men’s Semifinals Matches | MyBookie ATP Betting Preview

2023 US Open Tennis Championships | 143rd edition of the US Open
Semifinals: Thursday, September 7th, 2023

Can Medvedev Solve Alvarez?

Medvedev beat Alcaraz back at 2021 Wimbledon, but this year, the Spaniard is 2-0 and hasn’t dropped a set. Alcaraz beat Medvedev 6-3, 6-2 in the final at Indian Wells and then ran him off the court 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 in the Wimbledon semifinals.

Alcaraz is a big favorite for a No. 1 vs. No. 3 matchup, as MyBookie posts him -390 to win the match. Medvedev is +280 on the money line and +5.5 games on the spread. The total games is 36.5, with the over at -111 and the under at -102.

This will be the late match on Friday, and both players should be well rested. Medvedev has done better in this tournament breaking serve than Alcaraz, as he’s won 50% of his break points. He will have to do that level or better on Friday, as Alcaraz has lost just one set in this entire tournament, and he enters the semis on a 7-set win streak.

Both players should come out swinging and play aggressively as they have both won on this stage before as the last two champions. Medvedev hasn’t won a set against Alcaraz in two years, and the last grand slam match totaled 27 games.

Alcaraz has seized momentum early in every match and under 36.5 games, has hit in all of his matches at the US Open, and should again on Friday.

MyBookie Betting Lines for the Game

Shelton a Huge Underdog Against Djokovic

Shelton is on a dream run, his first-ever semifinal, and a chance to be the first American male in a grand slam final since Andy Roddick retired. Roddick is also the last American male to win a slam 20 years ago in New York. But to get there, he will have to upset 23-time champion Novak Djokovic, who appears to be on a mission this week.

Djokovic is a prohibitive favorite on Friday at -2000 on the money line at MyBookie. Shelton is +850 on the money line at +7.5 games on the spread. A 3-0 win by Djokovic is expected with under 31.5 games at -118 and over 31.5 games at -111.

These two have never played, and Shelton is 0-5 against Top 10 players in his young career. The lefty does have a 3-0 record in 5-set matches if he can find a way to make it last, but he’s 3-15 when losing the first set, so Shelton needs a fast start. Djokovic is 33-2 this season when winning the first set and 3-0 against lefties, but he’s 0-1 in 5-set matches.

The under is probably the best bet in this one. Shelton’s power could give Djokovic some trouble as he hasn’t seen it in person, but expect the new world No. 1 to adjust early and take control of the match.

Previous Betting News

Once, the No. 1 ranked player in the world, Caroline Wozniacki will look to turn back the hands of time while dialing up a special effort to beat current World No.2 Angelique Kerber when the pair square off in their 2016 U.S. Open semifinal showdown.

With one grand slam already in her pocket, Kerber will look to take the next step toward competing for her second grand slam trophy this season. Let’s find out where the online betting value lies in this intriguing match.

Here’s a Closer Look At The US Open Women’s Semifinals Expert Predictions

2016 US Open Women’s Semifinals Odds

Caroline Wozniacki +4
Angelique Kerber -4

Moneyline

Wozniacki +210
Kerber -250

Analysis: Caroline Wozniacki may be ranked 74th in the world right now, but anyone that knows a thing about tennis knows that figure means absolutely nothing right now. Sure, Wozniacki is just 13-14 this season and has lost in either the first or second round in four straight tournaments prior to the U.S. Open, but right now, she’s playing some fantastic tennis.

Wozniacki is 5-7 in 12 career matches against Angelique Kerber but has split the last four meetings evenly. Wozniacki has the edge in career titles at 23-9 though Kerber has a coveted grand slam title and Woz does not. Kerber is 47-14 this season and is playing the best tennis of her career. Kerber, should she reach the finals and beat Serena Williams, will also claim the world No.1 ranking.

I know Angelique Kerber is the favorite in this match, but I really like the way Caroline Wozniacki is playing right now and believe she’s a great pick to pull off the upset as a value-packed +210 selection.

My Pick: Caroline Wozniacki in Three Sets

Total Games: 21

Analysis: This pick is as easy as pie for me tennis bettors. With two of the last three meetings and three of five overall, going the full three sets, I like this huge match to go at least three sets as well. Hell, I suspect that each of the first two sets could last at least 10 games, making this Over/Under total pick a lock to go over 21 total games.

My Pick: Over 21 Total Games

While French superstar Gael Monfils has long been hailed as the most athletic player on the ATP World Tour, it’s also been widely proclaimed that the electrifying Frenchman’s penchant for flair and entertainment is what has kept him from ever hoisting a grand slam trophy.

Now, with a new mindset and a clearly different approach to the game, Monfils, ranked 12th in the ATP rankings, is maximizing his chances of winning, which, undoubtedly, wasn’t the case prior to this year. With a semifinal matchup at the 2016 U.S. Open looming, tennis bettors everywhere need to know if Monfils can pull off the upset over World No. 1 Nova Djokovic. Let’s find out now the latest betting odds.

In Depth Analysis On The US Open Men’s Semifinals Winning Predictions

2016 US Open Men’s Semifinals Odds

Novak Djokovic -6.5
Gael Monfils +6.5

Moneyline

Djokovic -750
Monfils +550

Analysis: The 29-year-old Novak Djokovic has compiled a perfect 12-0 record against the 30-year-old Monfils, most recently beating the Frenchman 6-3, 6-2 in the semifinal round at the 2016 Rogers Cup in Canada. Prior to that, Djokovic beat Monfils twice in 2014, at the 1000 Masters in Paris and again, in Canada at the Rogers Cup.

Gael Monfils has gone 35-11 this season with one title and looks like a great pick at +550, not to mention, he’s clearly playing the best tennis of his career. Novak Djokovic has gone 51-5 this season with seven titles, but hasn’t absolutely been on fire recently and could be vulnerable against the athletic Monfils.

However, having said of all this, no matter how hard I try t envision Monfils beating Djokovic, I just don’t see it happening. I like Novak Djokovic to get the job done in four sets minimum and likely five. Either way, the World No. 1 prevails.

My Pick: Novak Djokovic in Four Sets

Total Games: 35.5

Analysis: The good news for tennis bettors thinking about wagering on Monfils is that two of his last four matches against Novak Djokovic have gone the distance, with one ending in a tie-breaker.

Right now, the way Monfils is playing, I think this matchup goes at least four sets and probably at least 10 games per set, making the Over 35.5 total games the pick for me.

My Pick: Over 35.5 Total Games

Stan Wawrinka is a two-time grand slam champion that is currently ranked third in the world, but he’s been installed as an underdog in his U.S. Open semifinal matchup against World No. 7 Kei Nishikori. Should Wawrinka be an underdog pick and will he pull off the ‘upset’ over the red-hot Nishikori on Friday night? Let’s find out now on the tennis odds.

Here’s the 2016 US Open Men’s Semifinal Expert Pick

The Breakdown

Stan Wawrinka is 46-14 this year with one title, He holds a 3-2 career edge over Nishikori, but lost to the Japan’s World No. 1 7-6 (6), 6-1 at the Rogers Cup in Canada two months ago. After winning their first two head-to- head matches, Wawrinka is 1-2 over the last three meetings. While Wawrinka beat Nishikori at the 2015 Australian Open, he also lost to Nishikori at the 2014 U.S. Open in a thrilling five-setter.

Kei Nishikori has gone 32-12 this year but has won three titles. Nishikori has also won 14 career titles to Wawrinka’s 11 career titles, though he has yet to bag a grand slam title. Analysis: For me, I do believe that Stan Wawrinka should be an underdog in this match.

Why?

Because he’s not winning, that’s why. I’ve long been a big believer in Kei Nishikori and genuinely believe he’s going to win a grand slam title at some point in his career…so why not now? After seeing Nishikori beat World No.2 Andy Murray in five sets in the semifinal round two days ago, I believe the time for Nishikori to strike is now!

Total Games: 40.5

Analysis: I believe this semifinal showdown is destined to be a thriller that lasts at least four sets. Two of the last three meetings between Wawrinka and Nishikori have gone the distance and I just don’t see one dominating the other in three straight sets this time around either. I’m going with a pick for Kei Nishikori to get in done in four sets that play just over the 40.5-game O/U total.

My Pick: Kei Nishikori in Four Sets
