The regular season is wrapped up, and we are headed to the playoffs in the NBA. There were a few surprises this season, both good and bad depending on who you root for in the league. We have title favorites with the Milwaukee Bucks, the Miami Heat, and the Phoenix Suns.
For some teams, the season is great. For others, this was a year to forget. Let’s take a look at some of the most disappointing teams in the NBA this season. Let’s get right to it so you can continue betting against the NBA Odds.
Most Disappointing NBA Teams in 2022
Los Angeles Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers were by far the most disappointing team this season. The Lakers’ front office should be kicking themselves looking at the situation they currently face.
Not only did they trade away many pivotal pieces from their championship team, but they are now stuck with Russell Westbrook, who was not good this year.
The combination of LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Westbrook did not work, to say the least. James and Davis fought through multiple injuries throughout the season, which did not help the Lakers by any means. Other than that, the Lakers have a very old but veteran crew.
The current roster makeup is also due to James getting what he wants. The Lakers never meshed well, and now they have fired their head coach after everything has gone south.
James needs to take part of the heat for this current Los Angeles team. One can only hope that things will be better next season for the Lakers and the relationship within their own organization.
New York Knicks
This season was a large step back for the New York Knicks. Last season, the Knicks landed the #4 seed in the Eastern Conference for the NBA Playoffs. Led by Julius Randle and Elfrid Payton last season, the Knicks were in position to make a run, but that run was held short due to Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks.
This year, many were expecting the Knicks to stay in the same spot as last year, but they made very few moves over the offseason to bolster their lineup. Kemba Walker stepped away from the team to let the younger players get more time, and Randle quit on the team towards the end of the season.
The Knicks need to make big advancements in the offseason in order to get back to the playoffs. They have been linked to Damian Lillard, Zion Williamson, and a few other players who could take a star role.
The last question the Knicks front office needs to examine is centered around their head coach Tom Thibodeau. Is he still the man to take the Knicks back to where they once were and to the top of the NBA?
Brooklyn Nets
Even though they made the playoffs, it still has been a disappointing season for the Brooklyn Nets. At the beginning of the season, NBA fans were promised that the grouping of Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving was to be the most entertaining group in the NBA. That was not the case for multiple reasons.
The relationship of Durant and Harden never rekindled, and Irving missed most of the season due to mandates and rules and regulations of New York City. It was a complete disaster to the fact that the Nets traded Harden to Philadelphia for Ben Simmons, who will not play this season.
If the Nets do not make it to the conference or NBA Finals, it would be a very disappointing season. Time will truly tell if this season was disappointing or not for the Brooklyn Nets.
