NFC West leader Seahawks host AFC East leader Bills, who are Favorite on the NFL Odds in Week 8

While it’s certainly nice to be at the top of the division at the midway point of the season, every team currently occupying the #1 spot in their respective divisions will be acutely aware that the job is only half done.

No team has ever been crowned the division champion at this point in the proceedings, and we have in fact seen leaders at the midway point crash and burn in the second half of the season.

My NFL Betting Analysis in the Week 8

It’s all about keeping the momentum going, which both of these teams will be looking to do as they come into this week sitting on top of their divisions.

The Bills lead in the AFC East is far more comfortable than the lead that the Seahawks have in the NFC West, but is that a sign that one is stronger than the other?

The bookies are giving the edge to the Bills as a 3-point favorite, with the total set at 47.

Buffalo Bills Odds -165

It has been a strange sort of start to the season for the Buffalo Bills, who looked like a team on fire in the opening 3 weeks of the season.

Those flames were doused with back-to-back losses, but they have bounced back from that little slump quite nicely, winning each of their last 2 games.

I think it is worth noting here that both of their losses this year have come on the road, although they have also won twice away from home.

Overall, though, this is a team that has won 11 of their last 14 games, so they certainly know how to close games out.

More importantly, they are 7-1 SU in their last 8 non-conference games.

They have gone 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 meetings with Seattle and are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 versus the NFC West. The UNDER has hit in 4 of their last 5 road games.

Seattle Seahawks Odds +134

Like we said earlier, not all division leaders are created equal. While the Bills are running away with the AFC East at the midway point, the Seahawks have a slender lead atop the NFC West, going 4-3 through their first 7 games.

Seattle has been somewhat inconsistent this season, but they are coming off a huge win, demolishing the Atlanta Falcons last weekend, but can they deliver a similar performance here?

One trend that jumps off the page is that the Seahawks have won 10 of their last 11 meetings with teams from the AFC East, but things are a little more complicated when it comes to the spread.

They have gone just 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 games overall, although 10-4-1 ATS in their last 15 games played in the month of October.

Each of the last 10 meetings between these teams has ended with the total going OVER.

Bills at Seahawks Betting Prediction in NFL Week 8

On their day, both of these teams can deliver some serious offense, so are we looking at the possibility of a shootout here?

I am definitely leaning toward the OVER, and I also like the Bills to win and cover.

Buffalo Bills 28, Seattle Seahawks 24
