Betting 2024 LIV Golf Greenbrier | Know the Basics

The LIV season continues along.

As we approach the end of August, the golfers will head to White Sulphur Springs West Virginia for the three day event.

The Old White Course at the Greenbrier will be the host course of the event.

The par 70, 7,255 yard course will be the host of this $20M individual prize pool, and $500 team event.

Last season, Bryson DeChambeau won the event at 187.

Let’s take a look at the Top 3 and our final pick for the event:

Writer’s Picks for the 2024 Greenbrier

Jon Rahm +500

Got to love Jon Rahm.

There is a good reason he is the favorite to win this event.

Rahm won the event in the United Kingdom before heading to the Olympics.

One of the best golfers on the plane, also was in the mix when it came to the Open Championship.

He can hit it a mile, and can control his ball with the best of them.

Coming in at 5/1 odds is not terrible for a guy as good as he is.

He is a good one to follow along with.

Bryson DeChambeau +750

The world’s 9th ranked player finished 11th at the UK event.

He did not participate in the Olympics, but many felt he should have.

Bryson is 30 years old out of Modesto California.

He recently has been popular, as his event with President Donald Trump was a hit.

DeChambeau is second in accordance with the betting odds.

You can find him at +750.

Therefore, if you wager $10 on him to win this event, if he does a nice $75 will come back.

Pretty good return value for a really golf golfer.

Tyrell Hatton +800

The 32 year old from England always seems to be in the mix.

Listed at 8/1, he comes in third, tied with Niemann.

Hatton is 14th strokes gained tee to green.

He is 11th coming out of the sand.

Hatton has had some interesting results, with his most recent coming before the Olympics, as he went for second place in the United Kingdom.

Before that, he missed the cut at the Open Championship.

Hatton is always a threat, and fun to follow on the course.

Others to Consider:

  • Joaquin Niemann +800
  • Cameron Smith +1200
  • Sergio Garcia +1600
  • Louis Oosthuzen +1800
  • Talor Gooch +2000
  • Brooks Koepka +2000
  • Dean Burmester +2200

We will go with Bryson DeChambeau to win this back to back seasons.

Last year he dominated, as he went -6.

He seems to be playing pretty free and easy golf.

We like the way he navigates the course, and should be in great shape.

DeChambeau at +750 is our first pick.

Our second pick is Brooks Koepka.

The veteran can still get the job done.

Koepka at 20/1 odds seems like a solid value.

There you have it. Those are the top three for the LIV event, and our picks.

We hope you enjoy the event and best of luck with all your golf betting!

Odds to Win the 2019 A Military Tribute at the Greenbrier

Among the favorites, Bryson DeChambeau, Jason Kokrak, Viktor Hovland, and Im Sungjae, which golfer deserves the most attention?

Last year, DeChambeau, the slowest player on the PGA Tour (not a joke!), didn’t tee it off at the Greenbriar. He hasn’t played since the Tour Championship in late August. Although DeChambeau is in decent form, he finished twelfth at the Tour Championship, he’s definitely a play against.

Jason Kokrak finished in third place with a -13, 6 strokes off Na, at the 2018 A Military Tribute. Kokrak has 4 straight Top 20 finishes, including a fourteenth at the Tour Championship. He deserves a look here for sure.

21-year-old Viktor Hovland should put in a good effort. Im Sungjae will as well. Both are in decent enough form to get a look before DeChambeau. However, Kokrak is the top pick. He has experience over The White Course while the others didn’t play in this tournament last year.

Which golfers at the odds of +2200 to +4000 can win the 2019 A Military Tribute at the Greenbrier?

Na hasn’t played since the Northern Trust back on August 8 through August 11. That might work to his advantage. In 2018, this tournament was back in July. Na’s form depreciated after he won the A Military Tribute at the Greenbrier last year.

This year, his form depreciated after he won the Charles Schwab Challenge in late May. He missed the cut at the PGA Championship and US Open and withdrew from the 3M Open. Now that he’s rested up, there’s a good chance we see his best this weekend. The defending champ can most definitely out play his odds.

Which underdog golfer at +5000 odds or higher can win the 2019 A Military Tribute at the Greenbrier?

Harold Varner’s odds are much too high to win this tournament. He’s made the cut in 8 of his last 10 tournaments played. He finished third at the Northern Trust Open and he shot a nice -12 to finish fifth at the 2018 A Military Tribute to the Greenbrier Classic. Varner can surprise at +5500 odds.

Although not listed, Austin Cook offers +7000 odds. Cook finished fourth at the Barbasol Championship in July. He shot a -12 at The Old White Course in 2018 just like Varner. Both deserve attention as longshots with a chance.

PGA The 2017 Greenbrier Classic Betting Predictions

Previous Betting News

You can usually tell what time of year it is by looking at the PGA Tour tournament that is on tap for the weekend, as the schedule follows a very familiar pattern. Things may have been a little trickier last season, as the Greenbrier Classic was taken off the calendar after heavy flooding on the course caused the event to be cancelled.

The pros are back at the Par 70 7,287-yard Old White TPC course this season, and we all have our fingers crossed that the weather will co-operate this year. While this is a shorter course than others on the tour, it is also one that is not particularly easy to navigate, with deceptive slopes promising to wreak havoc. Many of the bigger names on the tour have decided to sit this one out, but there are still a lot of good pros in this field, making it a tough one to handicap. Let’s look at some of the golf betting favorites for this event, after which I will finish things off with a prediction.

PGA The 2017 Greenbrier Classic Betting Predictions

Patrick Reed (+1000)

It has been a tough season for Patrick Reed, as his poor performances have seen him slowly but surely slide down the rankings. There are signs that he is ready to finish this season with a bang, though, as he has put together a run of 6 top 25 finishes in his last 7 tournaments.

There is a definite sense that he has what it takes to win a tournament before this season comes to a close, and with a group of players that does not include many of the top guys, this might be the week where he breaks through.

Bill Haas (+1100)

This is another player that has been in good form of late, although he has been quietly going about his business. Haas has landed in the top 25 in each of the last 4 PGA tournaments he has played in, which includes a tied for 5th finish at the US Open.

Haas does have some history at this event, tying for 2nd back in 2011. He is a player that is almost always sitting near the top of the leaderboard on the final day, so look for him to make a serious move on Sunday.

Kevin Kisner (+1500)

This is a guy who may not be that familiar to the casual golf fan, but that does not mean that he can’t win this event. Kevin Kisner already has a pair of wins under his belt this season, the latest of which came at the Dean & Deluca Invitational.

He also had a 2nd place finish at this tournament the last time it was played, which was in 2015. I think that this is a very fair price for a guy who has a legitimate shot at winning this weekend.

David Lingmerth (+1600)

The Swede is another player who has been incredibly consistent in recent weeks, posting 4 top 25 finishes in his last 5 events, and finishing just outside in the other. He is coming off a solid 5th place finish last weekend, and definitely has what it takes to challenge for the top among this group.

Webb Simpson (+1800)

This is the man who I believe will be atop the PGA leaderboard when all is said and done on Sunday afternoon.

His game seems perfectly suited to this particular course, and it also helps that he is in good form, landing in the top 10 in 2 of the last 4 events that he has taken part in. I think this is a great price for this guy, and I am going to be all over it before the first ball is struck on Thursday morning.

A few others to keep an eye on are Phil Mickelson (+1800), Bubba Watson (+2300), and Danny Lee (+2000). Lee won this event in 2015, which makes him the current champion, as the Greenbrier was washed out last season.
