PGA Tour Betting Update: Must Bet Tournaments in 2023

Over the last year or so, the golfing landscape has changed dramatically. It was always the PGA Tour that was the cream of the crop in terms of talent and prize money, but the LIV Golf Tour has managed to lure away some top players, dangling a juicy financial carrot that some have found too tough to pass up. Those who made the jump have had ties severed with the PGA, although those players are still able to participate in the major tournaments. As we head into the new season, it’s time to look ahead at those major tournaments, as well as a couple of other things, to see who might come out on top so you may plan your bets on the PGA Tour Odds.

Early 2023 PGA Betting Predictions for the Best Events From Next Year

The Masters – April 6-9

As we take a quick look at the upcoming majors, you are probably going to see a lot of familiar names in as the favorites. The first major of the season will, as always, be The Masters in Augusta, Georgia. It should be noted that an American has won this tournament in 4 of the last 5 years, yet it is Rory McIlroy (+650) who is in as the early favorite. Justin Thomas is the top American on the bookies board at +1175, so definitely some good odds to be found if you like an American to win again.

PGA Championship – May 18-21

It’s once again the Americans who have dominated this tournament, winning it in each of the last 7 years. This time around, the players will tackle the Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester NY. Again, though, it is someone other than an American in as the favorite, with Jon Rahm currently at odds of +1025, while Rory McIlroy is at +1125. Justin Thomas (+1125) is the reigning champion and has won it twice in the last 6 years, so he definitely needs to be considered a threat once again.

US Open – June 15-18

Matt Fitzpatrick comes into 2023 as the defending champion at the US Open, which will be held in Los Angeles this year. There is a bit of a common theme, like we said at the top of this piece, here, with Rory McIlroy (+950) and Justin Thomas (+1100), who won the Open in 2021, sitting at the top of the bookies board. Scottie Scheffler is also in the mix at odds of +1125.

The Open – July 20-23

The best players in the world will be tackling the Royal Liverpool Course in England as they try to get their hands on one of the most prestigious trophies in all of sports. Cameron Smith was the surprise winner last year, but it is the usual group of players who are sitting as the early favorites, but all of that might change once we get into the season and see how everyone is performing.

Other Events

Of course, every player on the PGA Tour will be looking to rack up points throughout the season in an effort to lock up the FedEx Championship and the massive financial prize that goes with it. Rory McIlroy starts the season as the defending champion and once again looks like the man to beat.

We also have the Ryder Cup coming our way later in the year, and it is the US who are in as the early favorite against Europe.
