2024 Travelers Championship

The 2024 Travelers Championship is the next stop on the 2024 PGA Tour and will take place in Cromwell Connecticut, a suburb of Hartford.

The TPC River Highlands is the course for this event.

The par 70 is 6,844 yards, which is shorter than many on the tour.

The tournament has a prize fund of over $20M.

Keegan Bradley was the winner a season ago. He went 257 for the four days.

Before that, Xander Schauffele came away the winner.

Bubba Watson is the last winner to win it multiple times; as he won his third back in 2018.

Let’s take a look at the Travelers Championship Odds, Top 3 and our pick to win:

Scottie Scheffler +360

The top golfer in the world was not great at the US Open.

In fact, he finished at +8, which was one of his worst performances in a long time.

Despite that though, the 27 year old has five wins on the season, and 12 trips to the Top 10.

He is still the player to beat on the course until someone actually consistently can beat him.

Scheffler comes into the event listed at +360 to win it.

Xander Schauffele +750

The 30 year old comes into the event listed second in the world rankings, and 2nd in the FedEx Cup standings.

Schauffele had a solid second and fourth day at the US Open to finish in 7th place.

The way he is playing, that was a bit disappointing for him, but still garnered him over $630K.

Schauffele has one win on the season, but his 11 Top 10 finishes show he is going to be there when push comes to shove.

Xander is listed at +750 to win the Travelers.

Collin Morikawa +1200

The 27 year old from California tied for 14th at the US Open last weekend. He earned over $350K with the performance.

His final day held him off from finishing Top 10, as he shot a 72.

Morikawa has been good with the driver, ranking fifth at 78% accuracy. He is going to be there when the final day arrives.

He is still looking for his first win of the season, but his 6 Top 10 finishes is third on the tour.

Morikawa also has 11 Top 25 finishes.

He comes into this event listed at 12/1.

Others in Consideration:

  • Ludvig Aberg +1400
  • Viktor Hovland +1800
  • Patrick Cantlay +2000
  • Hideki Matsuyama +2500
  • Sam Burns +3000
  • Tommy Fleetwood +3000
  • Tony Finau +3300
  • Russell Henley +3300
  • Corey Conners +3300
  • Sahith Theegala +3300

Travelers Championship Picks to Win

Ludvig Aberg is still in the right frame of mind to come away with a win in one of these events.

After the first round last weekend, we thought it come be the US Open.

While he struggled a bit down the stretch, it was not meant to be.

We still like his skill set, and he will be our first pick here.

The big three up front do not get the job done, which leaves Aberg at 14/1 to be our top choice.

Our second choice is Tony Finau at 33/1.

Finau is another guy with the right mindset and skill set. Finau knows how difficult winning a tournament can be and is staying patient with his play.

Look for Finau to be a major threat in this event.

PGA Tour 2023 Travelers Championships Betting Odds, Favorites to Win and Analysis

Previous Betting News

The PGA Tour schedule heads to the Northeast for the 2023 Travelers Championship at TPC at River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut. The designated event is loaded with some of the best golfers in the world as a follow-up to last week’s U.S. Open. This week’s event begins on Thursday, June 22nd, and concludes after four days of individual stroke play on Sunday, June 25th.

Xander Schauffele is in action this week to defend his title after defeating J.T. Poston and Sahith Theegala by two shots last season. The victory was Schauffele’s sixth PGA Tour win and first of two in 2022.

With the event elevated to one of the Tour’s designated tournaments, the purse increased substantially. Last year the field fought for a piece of an $8.3 million dollar purse, with the winner receiving a $1.494 million share. This year, that purse has ballooned to $20 million, with the victor taking home $3.6 million.

It’s time to take a closer look at our golf betting analysis so you can get all set to bet against the PGA Tour Odds.

PGA Tour Travelers Championship
TPC at River Highlands | Cromwell, Connecticut
June 22–25, 2023

The Field

Eight of the top ten players in the world are set to tee it up this week, including all players ranked inside the top five of the Official World Golf Rankings. Scottie Scheffler and Jon Rahm headline the field as the top two players in the world.

Wyndham Clark, the winner of the U.S. Open, is also teeing it up this week, less than a week after capturing his first major win.

Past champions of the event playing this week include Harris English, Chez Reavie, Russell Knox, Kevin Streelman, and two-time champion Stewart Cink.

The Course

TPC at River Highlands has hosted the Travelers Championship since 1984. The course is part of the Tournament Players Club, which is a network of golf courses managed by the PGA Tour.

The club was founded in 1928 as the Middletown Golf Club and later became known as the Edgewood Country Club. After a redesign by golf course architect Pete Dye in the early 1980s, the course changed its name again to TPC of Connecticut.

Further remodeling took place five years later in 1989 under the direction of Bobby Weed with the help of two PGA Tour pros. Since those changes, the course has held its current name.

A short track for the PGA Tour circuit, TPC at River Highlands is a par-70 that spans approximately 6,800 yards. Accuracy off the tee is paramount if a pro wants to put themselves in a position for birdies, which they’ll need a lot of to win.

Travelers Championships Betting Favorites

Scheffler (+620) comes into the tournament as the betting favorite, with Rahm (+1025) and Patrick Cantlay (+1075) right behind him. Scheffler looks to lock up his third win of the season after closing out the last four tournaments inside the top five.

Rory McIlroy (+1100) comes in good form after a runner-up finish to Clark at the U.S. Open. Xander Schauffele (+1300) and Viktor Hovland (+1800) also played well at the Los Angeles Country Club and round out the top betting favorites this week.

Previous Betting News

Following the U.S. Open, the PGA Tour heads across the country for the playing of the 2021 Travelers Championship. TPC at River Highlands in Cromwell, CT, has hosted the tournament since 1984.

The winner of the tournament receives 500 FedEx Cup points along with north of $1.3 million of the $7.4 million purse. Dustin Johnson is the defending champion.

The tournament is statistically the second-most attended tournament on tour behind the Waste Management Open. Last season the tournament was played without fans but will allow 10,000 fans each day of the tournament this year. Let’s have a look at our Golf update for the Travelers Championship so you can get ready to make your bets against their PGA Tour odds.

PGA Tour Betting – 2021 Travelers Championship Analysis

TPC at River Highlands

The course has been a venue for the event for 38 years and is a par-70 track that spans 6,841 yards in length. Established in 1928 by Robert J. Ross and Maurice Kearney, the course underwent an extensive redesign by Pete Dye in 1982. One more remodel in 1989 by Bobby Weed got the course to where it’s at today.

The course is the home of the lowest round ever on Tour, a 58 shot by Jim Furyk during the final round of the 2016 tournament. Patrick Cantlay held the previous course record when he shot a 60 as an amateur in 2011.

The Field

There is a strong field headed to Connecticut for this weekend’s play, highlighted by current FedEx Cup leader Patrick Cantlay. Cantlay is searching for his third win on Tour this year.

Your standard 156-man field will feature five of the world’s top 10 golfers. Joining Cantlay are Johnson, Patrick Reed, Bryson DeChambeau, and Brooks Koepka. PGA Champion Phil Mickelson, a winner here in 2001 and 2002, makes the cross country track to tee it up.

Fan-favorite Rickie Fowler returns to action after not qualifying and missing the U.S. Open. Fowler appears to be returning to form after a T8 at the PGA Championship and T11 at the Memorial Tournament.

2020 Travelers Recap

Dustin Johnson shot the lowest round of his career in the third round of the tournament, firing a 9-under, 61. The round propelled him to a one-shot victory over Kevin Streelman on the final day of the tournament.

54-hole leader Brendan Todd stumbled on Sunday, shooting a 5-over and tumbling outside the top 10. Will Gordon and Mackenzie Hughes tied for third, while Kevin Na’s solo 5th rounded out the top 5.

Betting Favorites

DeChambeau (+1100) is your early pre-tournament favorite, narrowly ahead of defending champion Johnson (+1200). DeChambeau logged a T6 at the event last year and put together an excellent showing at the U.S. Open before a back-nine meltdown on Sunday.

Cantlay (+1400) and Koepka (+1600) are near the top, with Brooks riding a T4 finish at the U.S. Open into the tournament. Cantlay had success here with his low round of 60 a decade ago and a T11 finish a year ago.

Paul Casey (+1600) is a sneaky favorite here after a strong showing (T7) at last weekend’s major. Casey has played in just three tournaments since the start of May but did well in all three, Valspar (T21), PGA Championship (T4), and U.S. Open (T7).

Other notable players near the told of the betting boards include Brian Harman (+1800), Patrick Reed (+2000), and Scottie Scheffler (+2200).

PGA Travelers Championship – Golf News & Odds

Previous Betting News

It was another great weekend of gold action, with Webb Simpson holding on to win the RBC Heritage. He will have little time to savor the victory, though, as he, and a host of the top golfers in the world, pack their bags and head to Connecticut for the Travelers Championship starting on Thursday, June 25th. Let’s take a closer look at the favorites for the PGA Travelers Championship so you can plan ahead your bets against their PGA odds.

PGA Travelers Championship

The tournament will be held at the TPC River Highlands in Cromwell and will once again, for the 3rd straight week, feature the top 5 golfers in the world. Will it be one of those guys who gets the win here, or will it be someone from out of left field, just like last season when Chez Reavie took home the top prize? There is a lot of golf to be played before we get that answer.

Rory McIlroy

The Irishman has been rather vocal when talking about players who are taking their time coming back from the long layoff due to the pandemic. He is certainly putting his money where his mouth is by entering every tournament since the PGA returned. He has yet to find the groove that he was in prior to the layoff, with a T32 being the best he has managed in the two tournaments since returning. Still, you feel that it is only a matter of time before he gets back to the form that saw him have 6 top 10 finishes this season already.

Justin Thomas

Thomas’ best season came in 2017, which was when he had 5 wins on the PGA Tour. He was on a pace to match or better that number before the PGA shut down, winning a pair of tournaments in the early part of the 2020 season. That was enough to put him at the top of the FedEx Cup standings heading into this weekend. Thomas has finished in the top 10 in both tournaments played since the restart of the PGA Tour, so he needs to be considered a serious threat to be at or near the top of the leaderboard on Sunday. He is my pick to win it all this week.

Bryson DeChambeau

DeChambeau had a bit of a breakout season in 2018, winning 3 tournaments, but he is now trying to live up to the hype that he created back then. He does not have a win yet this season, but he has come very close, with a second and a third to his name. He tied for third a couple of weeks ago at the Charles Schwab, the first tournament after the shutdown, and followed that up with another top 10 finish last week at the RBC Heritage. DeChambeau is knocking on the door of his first win of the season, so well worth a look here.

Webb Simpson

As we mentioned at the top of this piece, it was Webb Simpson who came out on top last weekend in Hilton Head, but can he carry that form over into this weekend? Simpson certainly did not look the part in his first tournament back after the layoff, failing to make the cut at the Charles Schwab, but he certainly made up for that last week. If you take the two tournaments before the break into account, Simpson has now won 2 of his last 4 tournaments.

2019 Travelers Championship Odds, Predictions & Picks

Brooks Koepka missed out on winning his third straight U.S. Open last week. Koepka heads to TPC River Highlands in Connecticut on June 20 as the major favorite to win the Travelers Championship. Check out our Travelers Championship odds and analysis!

2019 Travelers Championship Odds, Predictions & Picks

When: June 20 – June 23
Where: TPC River Highlands, Cromwell, CT
TV: Golf Channel / CBS

Odds to Win the 2019 Travelers Championship

Which golfer among Cantlay, Spieth, Molinari, and Day can beat Brooks Koepka?

Let’s first admit that Koepka looks formidable in this spot. He shot a -9 at last year’s Travelers Championship. Plus, he’s scored with a fourth place or better finish in 3 of his last 4 tournaments played. However, he was only effective enough for a fiftieth at the RBC Canadian Open in his tournament before the U.S. Open.

Cantlay shot a -10 and Spieth shot a -4 at the 2018 Travelers Championship. Both have a chance here. The golfer that we should really pay attention to, though, is +1800 Jason Day. Day shot four straight rounds under 70 last year. He had a great first round 66 and a great third round 66. If not for the 69 in Round 4, he might have won.

He hasn’t finished better than twenty-first, and he’s missed the cut twice in his last five tournaments. But at the odds and based on last year, he most definitely deserves the most attention to upset Koepka.

Which +2000 to +3000 golfer can take the 2019 Travelers Championship?

Paul Casey finished only 3 strokes off winner Bubba Watson at the 2018 Travelers Championship. Casey withdrew from the Charles Schwab Classic, and was only good enough for a twenty-first place finish at the U.S. Open, though.

Still, Casey has an edge over the other golfers in the +2000 to +3000 range. He shot a 69 final round at the U.S. Open and has decent history over TPC River Highlands. Casey’s got the best shot to win among golfers in this price range.

Who is the best pick among the +3300 to +5000 choice can win the tournament?

Bubba Watson’s form is off. Although he won the Travelers last year, it’s hard to see him repeating this year.

The two to peg as possible winners are Tony Finau and Louis Oosthuizen. Finau missed the cut at both the U.S. Open and the Memorial Tournament. However, he finished second at the Charles Schwab Classic. He could turn his form around here and play for the trophy on Sunday.

Oosthuizen had a great U.S. Open. He shot a 66-70-70-72, -6. That was good enough for seventh place. If Oosthuizen remains hot, he also will have a shot to lift the trophy on Sunday.

Is there a golfer at odds higher than +5000 that can win the 2019 Travelers Championship?

Charley Hoffman shot a -10 at the 2018 Travelers Championship. He hasn’t played well, but he has a shot of turning his form around this week. He skipped the U.S. Open to rest up for the Travelers.

Because the purse is over $7 million, it makes perfect sense why a golfer like Hoffman might want to target TPC River Highlands. At odds of +6600, Charley Hoffman as a real chance to take the victory this weekend.
