With pennant races heating up and teams making their final playoff pushes, things are getting tense in the world of Major League Baseball. In looking at next week’s action, we have found a couple of series that have caught our eye. We’re going to break each series down and give you some MLB Betting advice. We’ll let you know whether or not you should wager on those series as well.
What 2022 Major League Baseball Series Should We Bet On Next Week?
Chicago White Sox @ Baltimore Orioles
Both of these teams are in a fight for their playoff lives. If the season were to end today, both teams would be on the outside looking in. Every game is very important for each team. Baltimore will be coming off of a big series with the Boston Red Sox, while the White Sox will be coming from Cleveland, where they’ll battle the Guardians for the top spot in the American League Central.
Baltimore will get lucky, as they won’t see Dylan Cease in this three-game series. However, they will still have to face Lucas Giolito, Lance Lynn, and one of the surprises of the season, Johnny Cueto. Cueto has been a pleasant surprise for the Sox after they picked him up off of the waiver wire.
Baltimore’s starting pitching has been good this season, and none of their starters has been dominant. Baltimore has a very good bullpen, so if the starters can give them five or six good innings, it’s hard to score upon the Oriole’s pen.
Both teams will be coming off of huge weekends. They both could be coming in with momentum, or they could both come in off of a disappointing series. Both teams have been playing well heading into the weekend, and if they continue to play well, this will be a very even series.
When it comes to betting, we’re going to take a pass on this series. We’re just not sure if one team has a true advantage over the other. Take a look at some other series before betting on this one.
Cincinnati Reds @ Philadelphia Phillies
After Joe Girardi was fired, the Philadelphia Phillies took off. As of this writing, they’re a wild card playoff team in the National League. The Phillies will host the division-leading New York Mets this weekend in a four-game set. Philadelphia will catch a break, as they will avoid seeing Jacob deGrom, and they may not see Max Scherzer. If Philadelphia has a good weekend, it doesn’t bode well for the struggling Cincinnati Reds.
The Reds are ready for the season to end. They’ve traded away most of their star power and are playing youngsters. Joey Votto will miss the rest of the season with an injury, and the Reds are just playing things out. The Reds will see Aaron Nolan and Zack Wheeler in this series. These two have pitched well over the last few weeks.
We just can’t see the Reds winning this series. We really like the Phillies to win this one.
