The new NFL season begins on Thursday night with an amazing matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and the Kansas City Chiefs, a pair of teams that a lot of pundits believe could be potential Super Bowl champions.
Both teams certainly have squads capable of doing great things, but football is a sport that tends to deliver results that many of us didn’t see coming.
My NFL Betting Analysis
The Buffalo Bills are a team that have been knocking on the door for a few years now, but who have never been able to get inside and go all the way.
They will start their season on Sunday afternoon at home to the Arizona Cardinals in a game that most expect to go the way of the Bills.
Will this be the year when Buffalo finally gets over the hump?
We won’t get that answer on Sunday, obviously, but they will be looking to get out to a winning start.
Buffalo is favored by 6 ½, with the point total set at 48.
^Arizona Cardinals Odds +224
When the Arizona Cardinals drafter Kyler Murray to be their QB, the future looked bright, but injuries and other issues have pretty much derailed the progress of this team.
The feeling is that they may finally have hit rock bottom after going just 4-13 last season, and while they are not expected to be anywhere near the playoffs this season, there is a belief that they will be a little better.
Still, this is a tough way to start the season, by going on the road to face a team that has been one of the best in the league over the past 4 or 5 years.
The Cardinals have been brutal on the road, going 2-10 in their last 12 trips away from home. They are also not great against the Bills, winning just 2 of the last 8 meetings, while going 1-7 ATS in those outings.
The UNDER has hit in 4 of their last 6 games in Week 1.
^Buffalo Bills Odds -290
This Bills team is interested in that there are some very differing opinions about them among fans and pundits.
There are some who believe that they will once again be challenging for the Super Bowl, while there are others who see them missing the playoffs entirely, which is certainly possible given the strength of the AFC East.
The Bills definitely have more divisional challengers, assuming that Rodgers stays healthy with the Jets, so taking the East is certainly not a slam dunk.
Getting out to a good start is one of the best ways to silence the doubters, although this is a game you would certainly expect the Bills to win.
Buffalo ended last season by winning of their last 7 games overall, plus they have been solid against teams from the West, going 5-0 ATS in the last 5 meetings.
They have seen the UNDER hit in 9 of their last 11 games in Week 1.
^I have a lot of respect for the way the Bills have handled Damar Hamlin's return to play. They kept him on the roster all last season but took time to ease him back. https://t.co/6DAGlothq5

Arizona Cardinals vs Buffalo Bills Betting Prediction
It is always great to start the season with a home game, especially when it comes against a very beatable team.
Then again, that also adds an element of pressure. I think the Bills are more than equipped to handle that, and I like them to get off to a winning start, with the UNDER hitting, too.
Arizona Cardinals 13, Buffalo Bills 27
