What You Need to Know Before Betting the Game

The Buffalo Bills are 6-5 on the season, and 2nd, behind the Miami Dolphins in the AFC East. The Bills are coming off a blowout win over the Jets to move them to 6-5 on the season. Overall, it’s been a frustrating season for Buffalo, who came into the season with thoughts of getting to the Super Bowl.

For the Philadelphia Eagles, they have the best record in all of the National Football League. Philadelphia is 9-1 on the season, and leads the NFC East. The Eagles won the rematch of the Super Bowl over the Chiefs on Monday Night Football to pick up their 9th win of the season. Philadelphia, along with San Francisco are the favorites to win the NFC.

The Philadelphia Eagles come into this game as the favorites. Philadelphia is listed at -3 in this game. The total is at 48.5. If you like Buffalo on the moneyline, they are listed at +145 to win the game.

Eagles With Best Record in NFL

The Philadelphia Eagles lone loss this season was to the New York Jets. This is an Eagles team now that has wins over the Cowboys, Chiefs and Dolphins, but a loss to the Jets on the resume. Philadelphia is scoring 27.3 points per game on the season. The offense ranks 12th in passing yards with 234.8 per game, and 8th with 128.1 rushing yards per game.

The big talk for the Eagles is the tush push which works nearly every time for Jalen Hurts and the offense. Hurts leads all quarterbacks with 9 rushing touchdowns on the season. The signal caller also has 15 touchdowns thrown in 10 games this season. AJ Brown was held in check against the Chiefs, but on the season has elite numbers as the top receiver. Brown is over 1,000 yards and has 6 touchdowns.

D’Andre Swift is in his first season as the lead running back for Philadelphia. He has 147 carries for 690 yards and four touchdowns on the season. Kenneth Gainwell and Boston Scott back him up, but have a combined 65 carries.

Philadelphia Defense Coming up Huge

The Eagles defense is led by Josh Sweat and Haason Reddick up front. Those two have combined for 15 sacks on the season. In the back Reed Blankenship and Darius Slay are leading the charge. The Eagles defense has just five interceptions, but one was returned for a touchdown, by Slay.

Tough Road for Home Team

Philadelphia is in the middle of a super tough stretch of games. The Eagles played the Dolphins, Cowboys and Chiefs over the past four weeks. They have the Bills and 49ers at home, and then will travel to both Dallas and Seattle, before a Christmas Day game against the Giants

The Buffalo Bills have Josh Allen as their starting quarterback, but Josh Allen needs to be better. Allen has turned the ball over way too many times, and shot the Bills in the foot with them. In 11 games, the signal caller has 12 interceptions on the season. Allen does have 12 passing touchdowns, with 7 of them going to Stefon Diggs. Diggs is 105 yards shy of 1,000 on the season as well.

Along with Diggs, Gabe Davis, Dalton Kincaid and Khalik Shakir are getting passes. Shakir had a big game on Sunday with over 100 yards. He now has 363 yards and two touchdowns on the season. Davis is second behind Diggs, with five touchdowns.

The run game for the Bills has not gone quite as planned. The Bills do have 12 touchdowns on the ground, but 7 of them have come from Allen. Latavius Murray has three of them, while the starter James Cook has gotten into the end zone just one time in 2023.

Bills Defense Looking to Attack Hurts

Leonard Floyd leads the Buffalo defense. He has 9.5 sacks on the season. AJ Epenesa is next with 6.5, while Ed Oliver sits at 6. The Bulls have 10 interceptions on the season, with Terrell Bernard, Micah Hyde, Rasul Douglas and Matt Milano having two on the season. The Bills defense has two touchdowns, with Shaq Lawson returning a fumble, and AJ Epenesa returning an interception on the season.

Buffalo Bills Remainder of 2023

The Buffalo Bills are also in a really tough stretch of games. Theirs starts now with back to back games at the Eagles and Chiefs. They do have their bye week in between, but then after that, they take on the Cowboys at home, and go on the road to the Chargers the Saturday before Christmas.

Buffalo Bills vs Philadelphia Eagles Final Betting Prediction | Tough Competition in Philadelphia

The Buffalo Bills are struggling this season to find consistency in their game. The Bills fired their offensive coordinator, and naturally the offense looked better. But, that was the New York Jets. This is the Philadelphia Eagles. An Eagles team that held the Chiefs to 17 points. An Eagles team that many feel is the team to beat if you want to win a Super Bowl this season. An Eagles team that will play a shoot-out style of game if you let them. It’s a whole new beast.

While Allen and company are going to put up quite a fight in this game, the Eagles should grab this win at home. The spread being 3.5 may be too many. We are going to take the Buffalo Bills to cover the +3, but the Philadelphia Eagles win this game, and move to 10-1 on the season. Enjoy the big game and best of luck with all your NFL betting!

Eagles vs Bills 2019 NFL Week 8 Odds, Game Info & Prediction

Over the years, we have become accustomed to seeing more than our fair share of surprises in the NFL. We are not just talking about the weekly games here, but also entire seasons. Teams expected to be among the favorites end up struggling, much as the Cleveland Browns are doing this year, while a team expected to be in the middle of the pack suddenly comes to life and emerges as a real dark horse. When the latter situation occurs, we very often spend a good chunk of the season waiting for that team to return to normal and fall of the pace, and while that does sometimes happen, there are other instances when they continue to excel and win.

That is where we are right now with the Buffalo Bills, a team that is presently exceeding all expectations, not that they were particularly high, to begin with. The Bills are rolling in the early going, but they will have another tough one coming this weekend when they welcome the Philadelphia Eagles to town. The Bills are in as a slight 2-point favorite for this one, with the point total set at 43 ½.

  • NFL Week 8 Odds: Buffalo Bills -2 (Total 43.5)

Why Bet on the Philadelphia Eagles?

It’s easy to forget that the Philadelphia are just a couple of seasons removed from winning the Super Bowl, especially considering how poorly they have started the season. The Eagles come into this one at 3-4 SU on the year, with the only saving grace being that they are in a tight divisional race with the Dallas Cowboys. The downside to that is that their last games was a loss to the Cowboys, so the Eagles have already dug themselves into a little bit of a hole, albeit with plenty of time to get out.

On the bright side of things, the Eagles are 8-1 SU in their last 9 games versus AFC foes, as well as being 7-1 ATS in their last 8 meetings with teams from the AFC East. On the flipside, they are just 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games versus Buffalo.

Why Bet on the Buffalo Bills?

As mentioned earlier, the Bills are easily surpassing all expectations and very much look like a playoff candidate at the moment. They come into Week 8 of the season boasting a 5-1 record, with their lone loss of the year coming at the hands of the unbeaten New England Patriots. Despite their success, the bookies seem unwilling to put a lot of stock in those wins, putting them on the board as a 2-point favorite at home against a team that is struggling to get going this season.

Perhaps it’s because the Bills are only managing 18 PPG thus far, but this is also a team that is giving up just 14 PPG. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Bills have seen the UNDER hit in 5 of their last 6. Over the last 8 games, Buffalo has gone 6-2 ATS.

Expert Pick & Final Score Prediction for Eagles vs Bills

I think we can expect a bit of a defensive struggle here, which always seems to be the case when Buffalo plays. I like the spread in this one, as I think the Bills can easily win and cover.

Score: Philadelphia Eagles 17 – Buffalo Bills 21
