NFL Week 6 Betting Lines: Pittsburgh Steelers as 3-point road favorite against Las Vegas Raiders

NFL Week 6 Betting Lines: Pittsburgh Steelers as 3-point road favorite against Las Vegas Raiders

The NFL season is, in the grand scheme of things, long and tiring, and every single team is going to go through periods of highs and lows.

The key for them all is to try and keep the lows to a minimum, as that offers up the best chance for teams to make their way to the playoffs.

My NFL Betting Analysis in the Week 6

Given how the season is going to this point, playoff battles, particularly for the Wild Card spots, are going to go all the way down to the wire.

Every matchup on the schedule is huge, especially at this early stage of the season.

A win now can set a team on the winning path that leads to the playoffs, so that is what the Steelers and Raiders will be hoping for this weekend.

Pittsburgh is a 3-point road favorite, with the total for this one set at 36 ½.

Pittsburgh Steelers Odds -139

Given that the Steelers totally cleaned house in the QB room, no one really knew what to expect from them this season.

Russell Wilson was supposed to get the start, but a niggling injury meant that Justin Fields became QB 1.

He helped lead the Steelers to a perfect 3-0 start, but the wheels have come off in the last couple of weeks, with Pittsburgh losing back-to-back games, including a heartbreaking Sunday night loss to the Cowboys last weekend.

The Steelers are now 6-3 SU in their last 9 games, plus they have won 2 of their 3 road games already this season.

They have not been great against the spread versus Vegas, going just 3-8 ATS in their last 11 meetings.

The UNDER has hit in each of their last 5 games played in the month of October.

Las Vegas Raiders Odds -139

When you see a team having problems, there are several factors that are generally at the root of the problem.

At the top of the list is very often the play of the starting QB, which is just one of the reasons why the Raiders are coming into Week 6 with a 2-3 record.

They made the decision to bench Gardner Minshew in favor of Aiden O’Connell for this game, but there are still questions as to whether this will have any impact, especially with Davante Adams already set to miss this game due to injury.

Week 6 has not been kind to the Raiders over the years, as they are just 4-14 SU in their last 18 games played in Week 6.

They have been a good bet against the spread, though, especially at home, where they are 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 games.

In terms of the point total, the Raiders have seen 7 of their last 8 versus the AFC North go UNDER the point total.

Steelers vs Raiders Betting Prediction in NFL Week 6

The Steelers defense has been a nightmare for opposing QBs all season long, which is not good news for a Raiders team that is having QB issues.

I think that D will wreak havoc and help the Steelers get the win.

Road Steelers Come in as Underdogs

The Pittsburgh Steelers find themselves in a pressing situation as they desperately need to ignite their offense. Thus far, the Steelers have managed a meager 33 points for the season, with a notable 14 of those points coming courtesy of their defense.

The offensive woes persist, as they only mustered a solitary touchdown in both Game 1 and Game 2. Their ground game is equally underwhelming, ranking 31st in the entire National Football League with a mere 48 yards per game.

Najee Harris, a key figure in their offensive plans, has seen his share of opportunities. Examining his stats reveals 16 carries but just 74 yards to accompany them.

The standout offensive moment from the recent Monday Night Football showdown was Kenny Pickett’s connection with George Pickens, resulting in the sole offensive touchdown. Pickens has amassed 163 yards through 9 receptions this season.

Adding to their challenges, Pittsburgh faces back-to-back road games, with the upcoming clash against the Texans in Houston.

The Steelers’ players acknowledge their good fortune to be at a 1-1 record and understand the imperative need to elevate their performance starting from Week 3 and onward.

Home Opener in Sin City

As the Las Vegas Raiders prepare for their inaugural home game of the season, they eagerly anticipate the comfort of their own turf. Their homecoming coincides with a string of high-profile matchups, including the impending visit of the Pittsburgh Steelers and a Week 5 showdown with the Green Bay Packers, both under the prime-time spotlight.

However, the Raiders, much like the Steelers, have been grappling with offensive struggles, ranking a lowly 30th in rushing yards, averaging just 58 yards per game.

Josh Jacobs, their star running back, has been visibly frustrated, mustering a mere 46 yards on 28 carries throughout the season. On the flip side, wide receiver Davante Adams stands as the linchpin of the Raiders’ passing game, boasting impressive stats of 12 receptions, 150 yards, and a touchdown.

Currently perched atop the AFC West alongside the Kansas City Chiefs, the Raiders outpace the winless Chargers and Broncos in the 2023 season. Despite these challenges, the Las Vegas Raiders maintain steady odds, buoyed by a consistent quarterback presence.

SNF Pittsburgh Steelers vs Las Vegas Raiders Betting Prediction | Raiders Grab Win at Home

The Las Vegas Raiders get their first opportunity to play before their home crowd. Sure, the Pittsburgh Steelers will bring many fans to this game, but Allegiant Stadium is the home of the Raiders and the home of the Super Bowl.

Look for the Raiders to get the offense going more than previously and get on track. Jacobs and Adams finally get the touches they need, and the home team moves to 2-1 on the season. The Steelers fall to 1-2 with their inability to score consistently.

Take the Las Vegas Raiders -2.5 over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
