Super Bowl LVIII is here from Las Vegas, and the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers are going to mix it up for the second time in recent history. The betting line shows the 49ers are favorites, just barely, as they are listed at -1.5 at time of publication.
The total is listed at 47.5. One bet we are looking at is the moneyline pick for the San Francisco 49ers. It is listed at -125. That eliminates any one point win for the 49ers, still losing the bet. Let’s take a look at our San Francisco 49ers Moneyline pick and why we feel it is a good idea:

Run CMC Massive Threat
Christian McCaffrey was probably the Most Valuable Player in the National Football League this season. The former Stanford Cardinal running back went over 2,000 total yards via the ground and the air. McCaffrey also finished with 21 total touchdowns, which led the National Football League. McCaffrey has not skipped a beat in the postseason. He has four touchdowns in two games.
When he is not going to McCaffrey, there are a plethora of other options for Brock Purdy under center. The signal caller has Brandon Aiyuk, George Kittle and Deebo Samuel, who all prove to be big time threats. Aiyuk led the team with 1,342 yards, while Samuel and Kittle combined for more than 1,900. When in the red zone, it’s hard to figure out who is getting the ball. Aiyuk, Samuel and McCaffrey all had 7 touchdown receptions, while Kittle had 6.
Big Time Key in the Offense
Kittle is a key for the 49ers. The tight end from Iowa had 65 receptions on the season, and the guy that can help move the chains in times of need. He was a very outspoken member of the 49ers following the loss to the Chiefs in the previous Super Bowl. There is no doubt he is going to have plenty of motivation in this game.
Defense Has to be Better
There really is no doubt the San Francisco 49ers defense has to be better in this game than they have been in their two postseason games so far. In wins over the Packers and Lions, the 49ers allowed 26 points per game. While they can certainly still win the game allowing 26 points, they likely do not want to let Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs move the ball up and down the field and take their chances. The 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan knows the improvement of the defense is a massive key for the squad.
On the defensive side, Dre Greenlaw was the key in the win over the Packers with two interceptions, including one late to seal the deal. Other key names for the 49ers star with Nick Bosa. Bosa is the only member of the squad with a sack in the postseason. During the regular season, he recorded 10.5 of them. Fred Warner forced four fumbles on the season, and will be key in making sure the Chiefs do not gain the extra yards. Warner led the team with 132 tackles on the season.
In the passing game, Warner is also a key, as he had four interceptions on the season. Charvarius Ward is another key, as he led the team with five interceptions during the regular season. The 49ers biggest issue so far defensively in the postseason has been their run defense, which has allowed 159 yards per game.
Looking to Add to the History Book
The San Francisco 49ers have been around the National Football League now for 80 years. They have been playing in games since the 1946 season. This is one of the most storied franchises in all of professional sports. The 49ers are looking to win their sixth Super Bowl title, which would put them into a tie with the Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots for most. The Dallas Cowboys also have five. This is the 9th Super Bowl the 49ers will play in. They have not won the big game since 1994, with losses in 2012 and 2019.
Joe Montana was the first winner of the Super Bowl MVP in the 49ers history. He won the award in Super Bowl XVI and then again in XIX. After Jerry Rice won it with 215 yards in Super Bowl XXIII, Montana won his third award with five passing touchdowns. The last time the 49ers won the Super Bowl the award went to Steve Young. He finished the game with 325 yards and six passing touchdowns.
Whoever wins the award will join Patrick Mahomes, Tom Brady, Cooper Kupp, and again Patrick Mahomes as the winners over the past five seasons. Brock Purdy is listed at +225 to win the award, while Christian McCaffrey comes in at +425. Deebo Samuel is third for the 49ers on the list at +2000, while Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle are +6000, and Nick Bosa is +7500.
49ers Win Super Bowl LVIII
In the end, betting on the San Francisco 49ers -125 seems to be the right choice here. Many of the 49ers on the squad that lost to the Chiefs last time are going to out for a little extra blood in this one. The 49ers have been the best team in the league all season. Sure, Kansas City is playing great football in the postseason, and that is an experienced squad, but push comes to shove and the 49ers are the better football team.
Christian McCaffrey is a big deal, and when the Chiefs do finally get a chance to slow him down, Brock Purdy has weapons galore. The 49ers have more weapons than the Chiefs do. Kansas City has been elite on defense, but they haven’t faced what they will see when the 49ers reach the field. The 49ers win this game, which is why we are going with the San Francisco moneyline pick at -125!

NFL Super Bowl Betting NFC Predictions: LA Rams Money Line Pick
Previous Betting News
There is just one game left in the NFL, and it is the biggest of them all. The Super Bowl is now just a matter of days away and everyone has an opinion on how it might play out. While there are those who suggest that the Rams look like the obvious favorites here, thanks in large part to the big-name players they have on their squad, you have to say that the Cincinnati Bengals are not here by chance. The Bengals are a young team that is probably a year or two ahead of schedule. You get the sense that even if they lose this coming Sunday, they are on the brink of something very special in the coming seasons. With that in mind, let’s have a look at our NFL Playoffs Betting analysis so you can continue planning your bets against the Super Bowl Odds.

The Bengals and Rams in the Regular Season and Playoffs
Let’s start put by taking a look at what the Rams did in the regular season. If there was one word to describe this team in 2021, it would probably be streaky. They came out of the gate hot, getting out to a 6-1 record, but fans began to have some doubts when they lost 3 in a row in the middle of the season. They quickly righted that ship before reeling off 5 straight and then dropping the final game of the year. The Rams ended the season with a loss and a 12-5 record to win the NFC West. They destroyed the Cardinals in the opening round, and then won close games versus the Buccaneers and 49ers to get to the Super Bowl.
Not a lot of people had the Cincinnati Bengals winning the AFC North, and while you can argue that it was a down season for the other 3 teams, you cannot fault the Bengals for that. Cincinnati had a bit of a tough time staying consistent in the regular season, winning the division with a 10-7 record, which had them in as the #4 seed in the playoffs. It was the postseason where the Bengals came to life, easily handling the Las Vegas Raiders before stunning the Tennessee Titans and the Kansas City Chiefs on the road. This is a young team that looks to have absolutely no fear, which makes them a very dangerous proposition.
Money Line Trends
For the 2nd straight season, we will have a Super Bowl participant playing in their own building. While you might think that would be a bonus for the Rams, they were actually better on the road in the regular season, going 7-2 SU away from home versus 5-3 in their own building. Still, home field advantage has to be taken into account here. The Bengals went 5-3 on the road in the regular season, but it is what they have done in hostile territory in the postseason that will be making a lot of fans take a close look at them as a Money Line option.
Money Line Prediction
Given that they are in different conferences, these two teams don’t meet up very often. When they have played, it is the Rams who have the slight SU edge, going 4-3 in their last 7 meetings. That means very little here, but having said that, I still like LA to win the Super Bowl this coming Sunday.
