Over the years, we have seen rookie QBs come into the league and struggle or simply end up as a total bust.

There are exceptions to that rule, though, and this weekend we will see a couple of exciting young QBs go head-to-head in what should be an exciting matchup.

The Texans and Packers are both coming off seasons where those QBs excelled, and it is beginning to look like more of the same this season.

Who will come out on top this weekend? The Packers are a 3-point home favorite, with the total set at 47 ½.

The Texans made a great move in drafting CJ Stroud and making him their starting QB, with that decision reaping immediate dividends.

Stroud led the Texans to the playoffs last season, setting the bar as high as it has been in Houston for quite some time.

There is always a concern that a rookie might suffer a sophomore slump, but to this point in the season, that does not look like being an issue, with the Texans jumping out to a 5-1 start and the lead in the division.

The Texans have been decent in road games of late, winning 4 of their last 6 away from home, although they are just 2-6 SU in their last 8 meetings versus teams from the NFC North.

The Texans are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games played in Week 7, with the UNDER hitting in 5 of their last 7 played in the month of October.

When you have Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers coming before you, the bar is set incredibly high for the next QB.

It remains to be seen whether Jordan Love will put up the kind of numbers that his predecessors did, but he is certainly out to a very solid start.

Love came very close to leading his team to the Super Bowl last season, with expectations set high for this season.

It has been something of a mixed bag for the Packers through the opening 6 weeks, but they have posted a 4-2 record.

The downside is that they are still trailing to the 5–0 Vikings in the North. Sunday games have been good for the Packers, as they have won 8 of the last 9.

For me, this is one of the more entertaining games on the schedule this weekend, and it’s also a tough one to call. I think we are in for a close one, with the Packers edging it at home and the total falling UNDER.
