Even though not all of Week 15’s games have been completed, the odds for Week 16’s games have been released. We could see a lot of change in the lines between now and the end of the week, as the COVID-19 virus has hit numerous teams, causing many players to miss games.
That leaves a lot of mystery surrounding this week’s games, as a star player can test positive at any point in time, causing them to miss the next game.
In looking at next week’s games, we are going to assume that there won’t be any new players missing the game because of COVID. Here are some games that we think could turn a few bucks into a lot of money and make your Christmas even merrier. Let’s get right to it so you can bet against the NFL odds.
Betting Advice on Week 16 NFL games
Chicago Bears @ Seattle Seahawks (-7)
Seattle has yet to play their game this week, but the Bears lost to the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night. The Bears season is all but over, and Matt Nagy’s coaching tenure will probably be over once the season ends.
We really like Seattle in this one. The Bears are just playing out the season, and if Seattle wins on Tuesday night, they still have a slight chance at making the playoffs. Tyler Lockett will miss Tuesday’s game, but he should be back for the game against Chicago. Seattle wins by 10.
Los Angeles Chargers @ Houston Texans (+9)
At 8-6, the Chargers know that they can’t afford a slip-up. They’re currently sitting in the sixth spot in the AFC playoff standings. They’ll take on the 3-11 Houston Texans. Houston is coming off of a win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Chargers have played well on the road this season. Their road record against the spread is 4-2. After this one, we think their record will be 5-2. The Chargers’ high-powered offense could be without Austin Ekeler, but they still have too many weapons for the Texans to stop. The Chargers win by two touchdowns.
Cleveland Browns @ Green Bay Packers (-8)
The Green Bay Packers just keep on rolling. They own the best record in the NFL, and they’re 11-3 against the spread this season. Cleveland is coming off of a loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday night. The Raiders needed a last-second field goal to win at Cleveland.
Cleveland was missing some key players, as both Baker Mayfield and backup Case Keenum were out because they were in the league’s COVID protocol.
Mayfield should be back for the game against the Packers, but we don’t think that it will make much of a difference. Cleveland’s offense hasn’t been good with Mayfield under center, and the Green Bay defense has stifled much better offenses this season. Green Bay gets another victory at Lambeau by the score of 27-14.
Indianapolis Colts @ Arizona Cardinals (-1)
Arizona was embarrassed by the Detroit Lions on Sunday. Arizona was missing DeAndre Hopkins, but other than that, they were at full strength. The Colts are coming off of an impressive victory over the New England Patriots on Saturday night.
Just a hunch, but we think that Jonathan Taylor will have another huge rushing night for the Colts. The Cardinals will continue to fall down the NFC standings as they’ll lose another one. Indianapolis will win by a field goal.
