The Brookly Nets sit 11th in the Eastern Conference and are running out of time to catch the No. 10 Atlanta Hawks for the final play-in spot in the East. New Orleans, meanwhile, sits fifth in the West and should avoid the play-in. The teams conclude their season series in Brooklyn on Tuesday.

McCollum scored at least 30 points for the first time in over six weeks. He is ranked second in the NBA in three-point percentage at 41.0% (min. 7 3PA per game) and is one of two NBA players to average 18-plus points, 1.6 or less turnovers per game and shooting 40% or better from three-point range this season.
Williamson has been on fire lately and that continued Saturday. He scored 18 points on eight shots before he finally missed for the first time late in the second quarter. He didn’t stay quite as hot after that, but he still recorded his second 20-point double-double in his last five games. He also extended his streak of 25-point games to four. Since March 1, Zion is ranked 2nd in field goal percentage in the NBA, shooting 62.5% from the field.
Ingram has connected on 159-of-335 (.475) from the mid-range so far this season, which ranks 4th in the NBA in total FGM from this zone. Additionally, Ingram is sinking 2.6 field goals per game, which is ranked 5th in the NBA from the mid-range.
Trey Murphy got a rare start on Saturday and contributed 20 points, six rebounds and five assists. He returned to the starting lineup with Herb Jones sidelined on Saturday. Jones is probable for Tuesday. He is ranked 9th in three-point percentage, shooting 43.4% from deep range on the season. Fellow forward Larry Nance Jr. is not listed on the injury report after also missing Saturday. Nance has averaged 6.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.3 steals in 22.0 minutes per game.
Since the new year, New Orleans is ranked 3rd in net rating (7.3), ranked 5th in offensive rating (118.7) and ranked 5th in defensive rating (111.3). Additionally, the Pelicans are ranked 4th in steals per game (8.1), ranked 4th in plus/minus per game (plus7.2), ranked 5th in three-point percentage (39.2%), ranked 7th in field goal percentage (49.3%) and ranked 7th in rebounds per game (44.9).
Since Jan. 31, the Pelicans are 15-5, which is the third-best winning percentage in the league in that span. Additionally, the Pelicans are ranked 3rd in defensive rating (108.3), ranked 5th in offensive rating (117.4) and ranked 2nd in net rating (9.1).

Why Bet on Brooklyn Nets?
Brooklyn lost its third in a row on Sunday against San Antonio, 122-115 in OT, to complete a six-game road trip at 1-5. Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama accounted for four points and two blocks in overtime as the Spurs used a 12-5 scoring edge to seal the win. Brooklyn was without Ben Simmons, who last week had back surgery for the second time in three years. He’s done for the year.

Cam Thomas had 31 points and five assists in a losing effort. Thomas surpassed the 30-point mark for the second time across his last five games, and he continues to make an impact as Brooklyn’s most reliable scoring option, even ahead of Mikal Bridges, in recent weeks.
Since returning to the lineup five games ago, Thomas is averaging 26.8 points per game while shooting 48.5 percent from the field and 43.8 percent from three-point range. He was a plus-6 in the game, while every other starter was a minus-7 or worse.
But Thomas was on the bench when Cam Johnson missed a potential game-tying 3-point attempt in the waning seconds of overtime that essentially iced the defeat. The miss made Johnson 3-for-18 from three in clutch situations this season, good for only 16.7%. Thomas has made five-plus 3-pointers in seven games this season after tallying two such games in his first two seasons combined.
“You know, that’s a situation where we looked at and just having all the guys out there. That one play didn’t cause that, being in that situation, but that’s definitely something that we’ll look at in going down the stretch again,” interim coach Kevin Ollie said. “But love to have CT in there and I’ll take that one.”
The only players within their first three seasons averaging a higher ppg this season than Thomas (21.5) are Paolo Banchero (22.7 ppg – second season) and Cade Cunningham (22.3 ppg – third season). Both of those players were No. 1 overall picks. Thomas was selected 27th overall in 2021.
Center Nic Claxton had 11 points and 14 rebounds for his 26th double-double of the season. Claxton is averaging 13.9 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.9 blocks per game this month. Dennis Schroder finished Sunday’s loss to San Antonio with 19 points and seven assists. Down 110-107 with 15 seconds to play, Schroder hit a game-tying triple that forced OT. He’s scored at least 12 points in 12 straight games.
In 14 games since the All-Star break, Brooklyn has held eight of its opponents under 110 points, including two under 100 points. The Nets are 17-8 when allowing less than 110 points (5-3 post break).
