2022 MLB Straight-Up Week 20 Betting Picks for the Top Games On the Weekend

With just over 30 games remaining in the regular season, every game is crucial for teams that are in the hunt for a playoff spot. In looking at the upcoming games for the weekend, there are some big series being played that have playoff implications for both teams. Let’s take a look at some important weekend games, and we’ll give you our straight-up predictions so you can bet against the MLB Lines.

Week 20 Winning SU Picks for the Weekend Action | MLB Betting Predictions

Atlanta Braves @ St. Louis Cardinals

The Cardinals are the hottest team in baseball, having won 9 of their last 10 heading into Wednesday’s action. They’ll host another hot team in the Atlanta Braves this weekend. Atlanta has won 8 of their last 10.

In Friday’s game, Spencer Strider, the favorite for the NL Rookie of the Year, will face Jose Quintana. Quintana has pitched well since coming to the Cardinals. Strider has some huge strikeout numbers, and we like him in this matchup.

On Saturday, Jordan Montgomery will face Charlie Morton. Morton was great in his last outing, but since coming to the Cardinals, Montgomery has been almost untouchable. In his four starts as a Redbird, he has a 4-0 record with a 0.35 ERA. We’re taking the Cardinals on Saturday.

In Sunday’s series finale, the masterful veteran Adam Wainwright will be opposed by Jake Odorizzi. Wainwright knows that his career is coming to an end, he’s playing on a team with a legitimate shot at winning a World Series, and every game is crucial. Give us the Cards in this one.

New York Yankees @ Oakland Athletics

Over the last few weeks, the Yankees have had injury issues and have struggled to win games. They have seen their division lead shrink to 8 games. Coming off of a two-game sweep of their crosstown rivals, the New York Mets, the Yankees have momentum heading into a series with the worst team in baseball, the Oakland Athletics.

In the first game of a four-game set, Jameson Taillon will take the mound against James Kaprielian. While Taillon hasn’t been setting the world on fire, he’s been serviceable. Kaprielian has struggled all year long. Oh, and we failed to mention that Giancarlo Stanton will be back for the Yankees in this one. That should help boost their struggling offense. Take the Yankees here.

On Friday, Gerrit Cole will square off against JP Sears. Sears, the former Yankee farmhand, shut down a surging Seattle team in his last start. Sears has yet to lose a game this season. Cole has had his ups and downs. We think Sears pitches well and beats his old organization.

Saturday’s game features one of the league’s biggest surprises, Nestor Cortes, taking on Adam Oller. Cortes has been a big reason the Yankees are where they’re at in the standings, and he should take it to the A’s. “Nasty Nestor” wins another one.

In the series finale, Domingo German and Zach Logue will be featured on the hill. German pitched well in his last start, and beat Max Scherzer and the Mets. Logue has an ERA of over 6. We can’t think that Logue can stop the Yankees.

New York takes three games on their trip to Oakland.
