Betting 2024 Mubadala Citi DC Open

The ATP 500 Mubadala City DC Open is an outdoor hard courts tournament taking place from July 29 to August 4.

It’s the 55th edition of the 48-player tournament, which features the top 16 seeds advancing to the second round.

Despite being an ATP 500 event, it has a somewhat diminished field as many of the world’s top players are in Paris for the Olympics.

Dan Evans, the defending champion, is one of those players, representing Great Britain in Paris.

2024 Washington Open Top 3 Seeds

Andrey Rublev

Rublev is coming off of a semi-final loss in Croatia and was 0-2 on grass before that, losing in the first round at Wimbledon and ATP Halle.

He is 26-14 overall this season and ranked No. 9 in the world.

He is in danger of falling out of the top-10, but should have a solid tournament in DC as he has performed well on hard courts this season, going 13-5 in 18 matches.

He won titles at the ATP 1000 event in Madrid and in Hong Kong back in January.

In addition, Rublev reached the semis in Dubai and Umag and was a quarter-finalist at Doha, Rotterdam, and in the Australian Open.

As the top seed in DC, he will face the winner of Luca Van Assche and Arthur Cazaux in the second round.

Other players in his quarter section include fifth seed Frances Tiafoe, Roberta Carballes Baena, Arthur Rinderknech, and Maxime Cressey.

Rublev is the most accomplished player in the field, but he has been too inconsistent as of late, winning just two of his last seven matches, to warrant an outright wager.

Ben Shelton

Ben Shelton is ranked a career-best world No. 14, yet was left off the American team for Paris.

Instead, he’s a favorite in DC, chasing his third career ATP title and second this season.

Shelton won earlier in Houston and also reached semis in Auckland and Dallas.

He is 23-16 overall this season, including 9-7 on hard courts.

Shelton had a strong showing at Wimbledon, reaching the fourth round before losing in straight sets to world No. 1 Jannik Sinner, but is coming off a disappointing loss to Jungcheng Shang in his first match at ATP Atlanta.

Shelton is due to play the winner of Facundo Diaz Acosta and qualifier Radu Albot in the second round.

His third-round opponent, assuming he wins, will be either Brandon Nakashima, Christopher O’Connell, or Harold Mayot.

Adrian Mannarino and Miomir Kecmanovic are the other seeds in his section of the bracket.

Karen Khachanov

It hasn’t been a great season for Karen Khachanov, who is ranked No. 22 in the world.

The former world No. 8 is 21-13 this season and has won just one of his last five matches.

However, he has played his best tennis on hard courts this season, going 10-5 in 15 matches.

He is coming off a second-round exit at Wimbledon, losing to Quentin Halys in five sets.

Mubadala Citi DC Open Final Pick

Shelton arguably has the most favorable draw among the top seeds and is a good pick to break through and improve his world ranking with so many of the top players away competing in Paris.

It wouldn’t be all that surprising to see an all-American final between him and Tiafoe, either.

Pick: Shelton def. Tiafoe

ATP 2022 Citi Open Odds Analysis, Betting Favorites, and Predictions

Previous Betting News

The ATP Washington Open (Citi Open) is an annual ATP 500 and WTA International tournament that takes place in Washington, D.C. at the William H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center. The men’s tournament is a little larger with a draw size of 48 singles, half of which have to qualify first. Qualification began this past weekend with last-chance players like Taro Daniel, Michael Mmoh, and Borna Gojo earning entry into the tournament.

While those players aren’t exactly household names, the 500 level event has attracted a relatively decent field as players gear up for the US Open later this month. Top-level players in the tournament include Andrey Rublev, Nick Kyrgios, and Hubert Hurkacz. Taylor Fritz is the betting favorite among American players – no American has won the tournament since Andy Roddick in 2007.

The tournament was first held in 1959. Past winners include Juan Martin del Potro (3), Milos Raonic, Kei Nishikori, and Alex Zverev (2). Italian rising star Jannik Sinner won the Citi Open in 2021. It’s time to have a look at the upcoming Citi Open event so you can get all set to bet against the ATP Odds.

Men’s Outright Odds

Is Rublev Getting Too Much Love?

Rublev is the betting favorite at +650 for the ATP Citi Open, but he hasn’t exactly been setting the world on fire with his play as of late. The 24-year-old Russian wasn’t permitted to play at Wimbledon due to his nationality and hasn’t reached a final since. He last won the Serbia Open in April, defeating crowd favorite Novak Djokovic in the final.

However, Rublev lost his first round match in the Halle Open in June and, after reaching the semifinal in the Swedish Open, lost in the Round of 16 at the German Open.

Rublev is at his best on hard court, but hasn’t exactly proven himself worthy of the top billing here in Washington. Take his betting odds with a grain of salt.

Kyrgios Making Headlines Again

Nick Kyrgios has been relatively quiet in the tennis world, at least up until this year’s Wimbledon. The Aussie star put on a show both on and off the court at the All England Club, making headlines for both his play and antics during interviews – he may have even started a feud with the usually reserved Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Now, Kyrgios enters the Citi Open with the second shortest odds to win the tournament – one week after a late withdrawal from the Atlanta Open. Kyrgios won his first round doubles match with Thanasi Kokkinakis, but came out in front of the crowd during his scheduled first round singles match to announce his withdrawal.

“I just want to say that I’m extremely shattered that I’m not able to compete tonight,” Kyrgios said, citing a knee injury. “I’ve won this tournament once and, you know, I’m playing some of the best tennis of my career.”

Kyrgios will be a wildcard in the US Open and is clearly prioritizing his health with the hopes of playing in the fourth Grand Slam of the year. There’s no real guarantee he plays in Washington, but he’s deservedly a favorite if he does.

Previous Betting News

MyBookie brings you a betting preview for the 2021 Citi Open, where we take a look at three names to watch out for and provide you with all the information you’ll evet need to place bets on ATP Betting Odds.

Citi Open Tennis Analysis & Predictions | ATP Betting

The Citi Open returns to Washington for its 52nd iteration of the tennis tournament. Last year, the competition got canceled due to the COVID-19 outbreak; however, Citi Open is back with full crowds, who will get to watch some of the biggest tennis stars duke it out in Washington.

Tennis Betting Preview for ATP 500 Citi Open 2021

When: 31 July – August 8
Where: William H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center in Washington, D.C., United States

Names to Watch Out For

Rafael Nadal

Rafael Nadal has confirmed his attendance at the 2021 Citi Open and was quickly billed as the odds-on favorite to win the title. That isn’t too surprising since it would be hard to argue that Nadal isn’t the best player at the event.

The current world no.3 has, however, had a season to forget, drawing blanks at the Australian and French Open, where he crashed out of the quarter-finals and semi-finals. Although still solid placements, Nadal surely can’t feel satisfied with his showings on the season.

Having failed to deliver at the two Grand Slams, Nadal will be eager to win at least one silverware, and Citi Open just might be his best chance to do so. Still, there are some concerns with Nadal’s injury, which prevented him from delivering at the Roland Garros.

Jannik Sinner

The Italian enters the 2021 Citi Open as the eighth seed; however, he should definitely not be overlooked. Expecting him to deliver and upset the field might be a bold prediction; however, there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic about the 19-year-old.

Sinner has recently made it to the finals of the 2021 Miami Open, which should be a solid indication of his form, given that both tournaments are hard-court events. It’s also fair to mention that Sinner beat the likes of Karen Khachanov and Roberto Bautista Agut, proving that he is more than capable of defeating higher ranked players than him (no.23).

A lot will have to go right for Sinner to win; however, he is definitely a solid dark horse pick for the 2021 Citi Open.

Felix Auger Aliassime

Felix Auger Aliassime enters the 2021 Citi Open as the second seed and world no.15. The Canadian has confirmed to attend the event following his early R1 exit from the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, where he lost against Max Purcell of Australia with 4-6, 6-7.

Despite his iffy showings in Japan, Aliassime has done well in his recent tournament appearances, having reached the quarter-finals in Wimbledon, semi-finals at Halle Open, and finals at Stuttgart Open.

Aliassime has proven himself as a talented player who has managed several impressive runs on the season; however, he has not won a single event. Aliassime seems to “always be there but never on top,” which could make you doubtful about his chances to make it far.

Having said that, Aliassime has a solid chance to reach at least the finals in Washington. He will start the tournament in the bottom half, where he is likely to meet with Alex de Minaur in the semi-finals, which is definitely a winnable match for the Canadian.

If he makes it through the semis, Aliassime is likely to meet with Nadal in the finals, which is a match we don’t expect him to win. However, with most bookmakers pricing Aliassime at +1000, an e/w bet on the 20-year-old tennis star might be worth a shot.

ATP Citi Open Winning Predictions

Previous Betting News

We have barely had time to digest the strawberries and cream from Wimbledon, but now the ATP moves on to Washington, DC for the ATP Citi Open. A lot of the bigger names in the game are on their way to Rio for the Olympics, but this is still a solid field of 48 players, with a few big names competing. The 16 seeded men will get an automatic bye into the second round at Rock Creek Park, and will start action on Tuesday or Wednesday. The draw is split into 4 quarters, with the 4 top seeds headlining each. Let’s take a look at each one, and figure out who the online sportsbook might have as the betting favorites in each.

Here’s a Closer Look At The ATP Citi Open Winning Predictions

Quarter One

This is where we find John Isner, who many regard as the favorite to win this tournament outright. He will have some work to do her, though, with the likes of Viktor Trocicki and Steve Johnson likely to be his biggest competitors. I believe it will be Johnson who will get through to the quarter-finals to face Isner, but the favorite should be good enough to head into the semi-finals.

Quarter Two

Bernard Tomic is the favorite in this part of the draw, but it’s doubtful as to whether or not he can get out of what is sure to be a tough set of games for the Aussie. He was at the center of controversy at this tournament last year, as there were some serious doubts as to whether or not he was taking the whole thing seriously. It ended up costing him, and if he comes in with the same attitude this time around, he will sink like a stone in a tough draw. Let’s give Jack Sock the edge in this part of the draw.

Quarter Three

The top seed in this quarter is Benoit Paire of France, but he looks like he could be in trouble against some tougher opposition. There are a number of big serving players in this section, and perhaps none more ferocious than Alexander Zverev of Germany. He may be just 19 years old, but this is a kid with a lot of upside who could really do a lot of damage in this tournament. I like him to get out of this quarter and into the semi-finals.

Quarter Four

Gael Monfils of France is the top seed in this part of the draw, but he is another of the favorites who may be in for a rough ride. American Sam Querrey may be his toughest opposition here, and he is sure to be riding on a bit of a high after making it into the Round of 16 at Wimbledon. I think it will be Monfils and Querrey in the quarters, with the American the one to move on.

For me, it looks as though Isner and Zverev are on a collision course for the final, with Isner the one most likely to win it all. You can bet on every game, and keep up with all the betting odds for this tournament at MyBookie.ag.
