On Saturday, tennis’s final major tournament of the year drops first serve when the best in the world head to Flushing Meadows in New York for the annual US Open.

Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic, and Jannik Sinner are the favorites to win the men’s singles title.

The favorite on the women’s side are Aryna Sabalenka and Iga Swiatek.

Check out tennis odds for the favorites, contenders, and longshots to win the 2024 US Open Tennis Tournament.

Writer’s Picks for the US Open

US Open Men’s Singles to Win Odds

US Open ATP Favorites

Carlos Alcaraz +135
Novak Djokovic +188

Djokovic is riding momentum he gained in Paris.

Djoker beat Carlos Alcaraz to win the gold medal in a terrific 2-set and 2-tiebreaker match.

But although Djokovic won the gold medal, let’s be serious.

The match was 2 sets.

Alcaraz thrives in 3-set or more matches.

The younger Alcaraz, should he face Djoker in the final is going to have much more in the tank.

Of the favorites, Alcaraz is the play.

US Open ATP Contenders

Jannik Sinner +222
Daniil Medvedev +510

Medvedev is a former U.S. Open winner.

So for sure he will have a shot to win the trophy this year.

But Daniil isn’t playing as well as Jannik Sinner.

Sinner took home the top prize at the Cincinnati Open, the warmup event to the US Open.

Sinner easily handled France Tiafoe in the Cincinnati Open Final.

The reason that’s significant is because Tiafoe is a solid player on the hardcourt.

Back Sinner if you’re looking for a contender.

US Open ATP Longshots

Alexander Zverev +1600
Taylor Fritz +3300

The odds on Taylor Fritz are nice enough for a small bite.

But don’t make Fritz your top underdog play to win the men’s singles title at Flushing Meadows.

Taylor, although terrific, isn’t on the same level as Alecander Zverev.

Zverev lost in the Cincinnati Open Semifinals.

But the defeat came against Jannik Sinner in a 3-set and 2-tiebreaker match.

Zverev is gearing up for a deep US Open run.

US Open Women’s Singles to Win Odds

US Open WTA Favorites

Aryan Sabalenka +280
Iga Swiatek +280

If you’re looking to back a favorite, you can’t go wrong with either one of these players.

Both can get it done at Flushing Meadows.

It makes sense to have a slight lean towards Aryna Sabalenka.

Sabalenka made it to the US Open Finals in 2023 losing to Coco Gauff.

Sabalenka is on fire after winning the Cincinnati Open.

She didn’t lose a set and beat Iga Swiatek and Jessica Pegula on the way to the title.

Sabalenka is the top favorites pick.

US Open WTA Contenders

Elena Rybakina +640
Coco Gauff +670

Since the semifinal loss at the French Open to eventual winner Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff hasn’t been playing her best tennis.

She had the meltdown at the Paris Olympics, then lost to Diana Shnaider in the third round at the National Bank Open, and then fell to Yulia Putintseva at the Cincinnati Open in the second round.

But Elena Rybakina isn’t playing much better.

Gauff is the top contender to beat the favorites.

Longshots

Naomi Osaka +860
Jessica Pegula +1325
Mirra Andreeva +2200
Danielle Collins +2500

Among the top underdogs, Jessica Pegula looks best.

Naomi Osaka can win the US Open. She has before but Osaka is tough to back in any tournament these days.

Mirra Andreeva and Danielle Collins have enough talent to win but haven’t shown it at Flushing Meadows.

Pegula made it to the quarterfinals at the 2022 US Open.

If things go her way, Jessica can pull off the upset.

ATP & WTA Early 2022 US Open Betting Update: Jannik Sinner’s Odds Rising & Raducanu Longshot Pick

Previous Betting News

Three of four Grand Slams have now been contested with the last of the four, the US Open, scheduled for August 29 to September 11. The 142nd edition of one of the oldest tennis tournaments in the world could, barring injuries, have one of the deepest fields this season in both the men’s and women’s draws.

For instance, world No. 1 Daniil Medvedev will be allowed to play in New York after he was unable to compete at Wimbledon due to the All England Club banning Russian and Belarusian players. Serena Williams is expected to headline the women’s draw, but the 23-time Grand Slam winner isn’t even among the top 10 US Open Betting favorites.

Men’s Outright Odds

Women’s Outright Odds

Jannik Sinner’s Stock Rising

Now seventh in terms of shortest betting odds to win the US Open, Jannik Sinner is a player whose stock you should absolutely buy. The 20-year-old Italian has already won multiple ATP Tour tournaments and is coming off of a victory at the Croatia Open, where he defeated Carlos Alcaraz 6-7, 6-1, 6-1.

Before that, Sinner reached the quarter-finals of Wimbledon and actually took the opening two sets against Djokovic before ultimately losing in five sets. His victory over Alcaraz, however, shows he is learning from his past failures.

Sinner is 35-9 this year and was ranked No. 10 in the world as of August 8, but should rise up the rankings in advance of the US Open.

Djokovic Still Unlikely to Play

Djokovic was unable to play in the Australian Open – we all remember that fiasco which ultimately resulted in his deportation – and it appears as though he won’t be able to play in the US Open, either. The 21-time Grand Slam winner and 2022 Wimbledon champion still hasn’t gotten vaccinated against COVID-19 and doesn’t plan on it, even though he may miss out on becoming the all-time leader in Grand Slam titles because of it.

The USTA is adhering to federal government guidelines, which states that foreign travelers must be vaccinated to enter the US. Djokovic, who is training with intent to play and is actually the betting favorite, likely won’t play unless government policy changes.

Emma Raducanu Hoping to Get Back on Track in Familiar Territory

Emma Raducanu was a breakthrough star at last year’s US Open, winning the Grand Slam in a memorable finals match against Canadian Leylah Fernandez. It hasn’t gone so well for the Brit since, however, as she has won only 9 of 21 matches this season.

The 19-year-old is hoping a return to the hard court will help propel her back to stardom. She won her opening match in the Round of 32 at the Citi Open in relatively easy fashion (6-4, 6-2) against American Louisa Chirico.

Raducanu is 12th among betting favorites at +2200.
