Overshadowed by the World Series, the NFL schedule, and some great college football action, the NBA is now in full swing. In looking at this weekend’s slate of games, we have some good ones on tap.
We’ve found a couple of games that we think you can bet on and make some money. We’re going to briefly analyze those games and give you our opinion on who you should bet against their NBA Odds. Here we go!
Who Should We Bet On This Weekend in the NBA?
Portland Trail Blazers @ Phoenix Suns – Saturday
In a home-and-home set, the Portland Trail Blazers will leave the comforts of home and travel to Phoenix to take on the Suns for the second night straight.
These two will meet on Friday evening and then again on Saturday. Currently, these two are the top two teams in the West, as Phoenix holds the top spot.
This could be a tough stretch for the Blazers. Damian Lillard was injured against the Miami Heat and won’t see any action this weekend. In his place, Anfernee Simons has stepped up and has led the Blazers in scoring.
Now, Simons is questionable for the weekend with a left foot inflammation. This will be something to monitor. If Simons is unable to play, look for Jerami Grant to be the Blazers’ leader.
As for the Suns, they’re looking good this season. Chris Paul is playing well, as is Devin Booker. Heading into Friday night’s game, the Suns have won five straight.
Their only loss this season was to Portland. The Suns have one of the best shooting percentages in the league and are near the top of the league in scoring.
They’re fourth in points allowed, so the defense is getting things done as well. With Mikael Bridges and DeAndre Ayton being good on the defensive end of the floor, Phoenix has things going well on both ends.
This looks like a game that Phoenix should win. If Simons doesn’t play, the spread will be even larger. It’ll also be wise to monitor how things go on Friday night when these two meet, as that could be an indicator of things to come.
Cleveland Cavaliers @ Los Angeles Lakers – Sunday
How the mighty have fallen! Even though they won a title in the bubble, the Lakers have been a huge disappointment throughout the LeBron James & Anthony Davis era.
The Lakers have started off the season with a 2-5 record. The team lacks shooting, the Russell Westbrook experience has been a bust, and the team chemistry just isn’t good.
On Sunday, the Lakers will be welcoming one of the top teams from the East, the Cleveland Cavaliers. Cleveland has gone all in on winning now by acquiring Donovan Mitchell.
By putting Mitchell together with Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, and Jarrett Allen, this team has the makings of a very good team that could contend for an Eastern Conference title.
We just don’t see the Lakers hanging with the Cavs. Mitchell looks inspired this season, and the Cavs have a team built to win. As long as the spread isn’t too large, we suggest going with Cleveland in this one.
