It’s time to start looking to the upcoming weekend to see what baseball games to wager on. We’ve found three games that intrigue us. We looked at the pitching matchups and found some games that have some very solid pitching matchups.
We could see some low run totals in each of these three games. Here are the three games that we will feature, and we’ll give you a brief rundown on the pitching matchups in each game so you can bet against their MLB Odds.
Top weekend MLB games to Must Bet on
Houston Astros @ Toronto Blue Jays
- When: Saturday, April 30th
Two of the American League’s top teams square off north of the border. Toronto will be sending their ace, Jose Berrios, to the mound, and he will be opposed by Houston’s Luis Garcia.
Garcia has been good in his three starts. His 4.60 ERA is a little misleading, as he has pitched 15 innings, striking out 14. He sports a very low 0.96 WHIP, so he’s not allowing many baserunners.
As for Berrios, after a shaky start to the season, his last two starts have been very solid. He’s still giving up too many runs, but his control has been better, and he has been striking more batters out.
Both pitchers will be facing very solid lineups. The Blue Jays have only faced Garcia once, while the Astros have seen Berrios numerous times before. Toronto has been scoring a lot of runs this season, so we’ll see if Garcia can slow down their powerful lineup.
Minnesota Twins @ Tampa Bay Rays
- When: Saturday, April 30th
Shane McClanahan has quietly become one of the better pitchers in the American League. The fireballer has been putting up some impressive strikeout numbers over the past couple of seasons. He’s 1-1 on the season with a 2.45 ERA. He has 31 strikeouts in his 22 innings pitched.
Minnesota will counter with Chris Archer. Archer is a reclamation project for the Twins. After suffering numerous injuries, the former All-Star is looking to regain the form he had early in his career. He has looked good thus far, as in his 11 innings pitched, he has struck out 10 with a 3.18 ERA.
The Twins are currently sitting atop the American League Central. The Rays are just two games behind the Blue Jays for the AL East lead. Both teams figure to be in the playoff mix throughout the season.
Seattle Mariners @ Miami Marlins
- When: Sunday, May 1st
Two young, up-and-coming pitchers will highlight this one. Because they don’t play in major markets, these two names are rather unknown, but baseball fans will be getting to know their names soon.
Logan Gilbert will take the mound for the Marlins. He’s had an impressive start to the season for Seattle.
He’s 3-0 on the season with a 0.40 ERA and a 0.85 WHIP. He’s struck out 22 hitters in his 22 innings pitched. He has helped the Mariners stay near the top of the American League West.
For the Marlins, Sandy Alcantara will get the starting nod. Alcantara is 2-0 on the season with a 1.78 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP.
