When looking at the Eastern Conference, you see five or six teams that have a legitimate shot at winning the conference title.
We’re now going to take a look at the NBA Conference Championship odds of each of the favorites and give you a brief breakdown of each. We’ll also give you a longshot that could sneak up on everyone.
Updated Eastern Conference Championship Odds Heading Into Postseason
Milwaukee Bucks +250
The Bucks have peaked at the right time. With Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, and Jrue Holiday all playing well, the Bucks have a great shot at winning the East for a second straight year.
Giannis is starting to hit perimeter shots, which makes him one of the hardest players in the world to guard. With a solid front line of Bobby Portis, Brook Lopez, and Serge Ibaka, they have the ability to take care of the paint. This team is ready to win the East again.
Brooklyn Nets +320
Even though they’re in the play-in tournament, everyone fears playing the Brooklyn Nets.
With Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving playing well, the Nets are a hard team to guard. They’ve built a good surrounding cast, and when the two are on, the Nets are very tough to stop.
We’ll see if Ben Simmons returns for any of the postseason or not. If he does, it could make the Nets even better.
Boston Celtics +425
The Celtics have had a great second half of the season. They’re playing great defense, and Jayson Tatum and Jalen Brown have been great on the offensive end.
Even though they’ll be without Robert Williams for the first round, this team has all of the momentum heading into the playoffs.
Philadelphia 76ers +450
When Joel Embiid and James Harden are both playing well, this team is very good.
We’ve heard the rumors of all of the issues between the players not enjoying playing with Harden and how Doc Rivers and Harden don’t get along, but they’ve still played well. If Tobias Harris can play well, the 76ers could make some noise in the East.
Miami Heat +475
It’s hard to believe that the top seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs only has the fifth-best odds to win the conference title. Even though this squad plays great defense, has arguably the best coach in the game, and is very balanced, people just don’t give the Heat enough credit.
It’s more than likely because Jimmy Butler is the biggest superstar on the team, and teams without one of the league’s top stars rarely win a title. With Butler, Kyle Lowry, Bam Adebayo, PJ Tucker, and Tyler Herro, this team is very balanced.
Their defense will carry them, and they have a ton of playoff experience. Don’t count the Heat out!
Toronto Raptors +4000
Don’t sleep on the Raptors. Nick Nurse has them playing well. Pascal Siakam has played well as of late, Fred VanVleet is a great leader, Scottie Barnes is very versatile, and Gary Trent Jr. can score.
This team is ready to upset some of the top seeds. They also have an advantage when teams have to travel to Canada, as unvaccinated players won’t be allowed to cross the border.
