Check out the New York Giants win total along with a NFL Team Totals Betting prediction.
New York Giants 2022 Season Betting Prediction: Win/Loss Record
2022-23 NFL Regular Season
- When: Sep. 8, 2022 – Jan. 8, 202
- NY Giants Total Win / Loss Total Odds: 7 ½
Why the New York Giants will win more than 7 games
Brian Daboll is one of the most creative offensive-minded head coaches in the league. Expectations are high for Daboll and the former Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator will come through.
The Giants’ best offensive player, running back Saquon Barkley, is healthy. Rookie tackle Evan Neal along with veteran Andrew Thomas will ensure Daniel Jones has time to throw.
On defense, rookie Kayvon Thibodeaux has become one of the favorites to win the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award. The Giants have enough talent to challenge the Cowboys and Eagles for the NFC East title.
Why the New York Giants won’t win more than 7 games
The Giants have some talent and Daboll is a smart offensive play caller, but the schedule is too difficult for the first year head coach to lead NYG to 8 wins.
In addition to playing against the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, and Washington Commanders twice, the Giants start the season on the road versus the Tennessee Titans.
Home games versus Green Bay, Baltimore, and Indianapolis are potential losses. The road game against Jacksonville in week 7 isn’t a for sure victory. In their next game after traveling to Jacksonville, the Giants play Seattle on the road.
The Giants will show flashes of being a playoff team. But 7 wins is the limit.
Final Betting Analysis: Will the New York Giants win at least 8 games?
The Giants should have improved from last season, but that doesn’t mean New York wins 8 games. The schedule is tough because Washington, Dallas, and Philadelphia are as good or better than the Giants.
If the Giants win just 3-of-6 versus division opponents, the other 5 wins must come from somewhere. But NYG is guaranteed just 4 wins from outside their division matchups.
The Giants face Carolina, Chicago, Houston, and Detroit at home. If we add the 3 division wins to the 4 outside division victories, we come up with 7.
The eighth victory must come from home games against Green Bay, Indianapolis, and Baltimore or road games versus Seattle, Jacksonville, or Minnesota.
The Giants shouldn’t beat the Packers, Colts, Vikings, or Ravens. But they could beat the Seahawks or Jaguars, and remember, NYG only needs a single victory, either over Seattle or Jacksonville, if they win 3 division games and beat the Panthers, Bears, Texans, and Lions.
New York should be good enough to beat the Seahawks or the Jaguars. So the Giants will win 8 games this season.
New York Giants Win Loss Total Pick: Over 7 ½
