Can the Jacksonville Jaguars Make a Run in 2024? Examining Jaguars Odds to Win

The Jacksonville Jaguars, fueled by a promising 2023 season, head into 2024 with a question mark: can they sustain their momentum and challenge for a championship? Let’s delve into the Jacksonville Jaguars odds to win across various categories to see how sportsbooks view their prospects.

Even though the end of the season was somewhat disappointing, now they look to rebound, and get back into the mix when it comes to the postseason in the AFC.

Let’s take a look at the Jacksonville Jaguar season odds, and the season rundown.

Jacksonville Jaguars Season Betting Analysis | MyBookie NFL Betting Analysis for the Whole 2024 Season

2024 Jaguars Season | 30th in the National Football League | 3rd under head coach Doug Pederson
2023: 9-8 record / 2nd AFC South

Jacksonville Jaguars 2024 Season Odds

The first new addition out of the draft for the Jaguars was wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr from LSU. He should fit in well as one of the best targets for the Jaguars. In the second round, the Jaguars took another LSU athlete in left tackle, Maason Smith. Jarrian Jones, cornerback from Florida State was chosen in the third round, followed by Javon Foster, Jordan Jefferson,  Deantre Prince, Kellan Robinson, Cam Little and Myles Cole.

The depth chart will be a little different for the Jaguars under center. Trevor Lawrence remains as the starter, but the Jaguars grabbed Mac Jones, the former Patriots quarterback, and he will serve as the back up. Travis Etienne Jr will get the nod as the starting running back, with Tank Bigsby as his backup. Rookie Brian Thomas will serve as one of the starting receivers, and go along with newcomer Gabe Davis and Christian Kirk. Arik Armstead, Josh Allen and Ronald Darby should serve as anchors on the Jacksonville defensive unit.

After preseason games at home against the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Jacksonville Jaguars then go on the road to the Atlanta Falcons. The Jaguars will start the 2024 season on the road at the Miami Dolphins in a battle of Florida. Their first home game comes in Week 2 against Cleveland. Trips to Buffalo and Houston come before their home game against the Chiefs. Back to back neutral field games will take place against the Bears and Patriots, before a home game against the Packers to end the month of October. The first three weeks of November, the Jaguars are at Philadelphia, with Minnesota and at Detroit. Week 12 is the Jaguars bye week. After the bye, the Jaguars host Houston, visit Tennessee, host the Jets, play at the Raiders, hoe the Titans and play on the road at the Indianapolis Colts.

Jacksonville Jaguars 8.5 Wins

You have read through the schedule. This is a team that can win 9 games this season. This is a team that is not that far removed from reaching the postseason. Why not again in 2024? The AFC South is not overly tough. Houston should be tough to slow down, but they still have a ton to prove. The Colts are a solid team, but still sit with many question marks. Tennessee may be one of the worst teams in the National Football League. This is going to be an interesting bet to make, but if we were forced to make a pick, we are taking the OVER on 8.5 wins!

Jacksonville Jaguars +100 to Make Playoffs

If they are going to give us Trevor Lawrence to make the postseason with even money, we are going to take it. This is better than the -120 of NO to make the postseason. We just talked about the division. Why can’t this team get to 9-8 and be one of the winners in the division? Even a 10th win and be a contender in the AFC? The AFC is going to be a grind once teams get into the postseason, but just getting there is not as big of a challenge as maybe something. Take the Jaguars even money to make the playoffs in 2024.

Jacksonville +240 to Win the AFC South

This is a third bet that we are certainly not going to shy away from. Whether we are too high on the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2024 or not, that is yet to be seen. But, we see value in the Jaguars in a few of these bets. This is still a team that has some playoff experience, and a team that added some pieces that should make them a better team. Getting more than 2/1 odds to win the division, when there are four teams, and two of them should not be very good is a pretty solid bet. Take the Jaguars at +240!

Jaguars +2000 to Win AFC

This is probably where we need to pull the reins in a little bit. The Jaguars, if they reach the postseason, are going to be in the same tournament as Kansas City, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Miami, Baltimore and other really good National Football League teams. Sure, getting them at 20/1 odds seems like a pretty good deal, but is there really a realistic chance the Jaguars can win a couple postseason games and reach the Super Bowl? Not likely. This is not a bet worth taking.

Jacksonville Jaguars +4500 to Win the Super Bowl

Really, this one is just like the last one. Not really a knock on the Jacksonville Jaguars and what they may be able to do in the 2024 season. More of a realization that the rest of the AFC is going to be really talented. Then, when getting to the Super Bowl, you still have to win it for this bet to cash. 45/1 is pretty good money to grab, but there are probably better money making chances when you are looking to bet on the National Football League. This is another bet we are likely going to stay away from for the 2024 season.

2022 Jacksonville Jaguars Betting Tips for the Upcoming NFL Season

Previous Betting News

In 2021, the Jacksonville Jaguars were awful. Actually, calling the 2021 Jaguars awful is an understatement. Led by one of the true coaching lotharios of our time, Urban Meyer, the 2021 Jacksonville Jaguars gave a new meaning to the word inept. Jacksonville had talent last year. But Meyer was such a disaster that the Jags had to do another major overhaul this offseason. The good news? The 2022 Jacksonville Jaguars look like a decent team. Check out how decent in a Jacksonville 2022 Season NFL Betting Guide.

Jaguars 2022 Season NFL Betting Guide to Help You Bet On Their Odds

2022-23 NFL Regular Season

When: Sep. 8, 2022 – Jan. 8, 2023

Jacksonville Jaguars Over/Under 6 ½

Last year’s over/under total was 3 games. The Jags won 3 to push. This season, the Jaguars can’t push because the total includes a half a point.

6 ½ is a far cry from 3. Guess what? Jacksonville goes over the win-loss total. The Jags should sweep Houston and there’s no guarantee fellow AFC South rivals Indianapolis and Tennessee sweep Jacksonville.

So if the Jags take care of business in their division, they should sit on 4 to 5 wins. Then, victories over Detroit and the Jets on the road means the Jags require a single win to reach 7.

Total Game Pick: Over 6 ½

Jaguars to win the AFC South +680

Tennessee and Indianapolis are the class of the AFC South, right? Not so fast. Trevor Lawrence completed almost 60% of his passes and threw for over 3,000 yards while playing for one of the worst coaches in NFL history.

This season, Lawrence gets to throw for Doug Pederson, a Super Bowl winning HC and one of the best quarterback coaches in league history. Pederson has built a strong offensive line to protect Trevor.

The wide receiver room is much better. The defense could be the best unit in the division. The Jaguars are playable at the odds.

AFC South Odds: Fair

Jacksonville to win the AFC Conference +5000

There’s no way this Jacksonville Jaguars team should offer such high odds to win the AFC. Yes, the AFC is loaded with good teams.

Also, Jacksonville is worse than many of those conference contenders. But the odds are 50-to-1 and who knows? By the midway point of the season, Lawrence could be playing like the next coming of Joe Montana and the defense could be shutting down opponents.

AFC Conference Odds: Overlay

Jacksonville to Win the Super Bowl +11000

It’s not often we run into overlay Super Bowl odds. However, let’s not forget that Doug Pederson won a Super Bowl with a backup quarterback.

Philly’s defense in 2018, the year they won the Super Bowl, wasn’t nearly as talented as the defense the Jags have put together. The odds are overlaid.

Super Bowl Odds: Overlay

QB Trevor Lawrence to win NFL MVP +5800

Even if Lawrence has a monster season, it will be difficult to give him the MVP. With that being written, Carson Wentz was an MVP candidate under Doug Pederson.

So at the odds, Lawrence is more than playable. After all, Trevor should have a running game to lean on and the defense will be good. The odds make Lawrence one to consider to win NFL MVP.

Previous Betting News

Prior to the start of every NFL season, we usually have a few teams who we already know are likely going to be battling it out for the first pick in next year’s draft. There are always a handful of teams in various stages of rebuilding, including a few who are going to be rolling with a lot of rookies to start the season. The 2021 NFL season is not going to be any different in that regard, but it is always interesting who watch teams who have committed to a rebuild go into a new season with a new QB and some young pieces that are going to be either hit or miss. That is what we will be looking at with the Jacksonville Jaguars this season. Can their new crop of rookies deliver the goods? Let’s try to answer that question so you can plan your bets against their NFL odds.

NFL Betting – Jacksonville Jaguars Calendar Odds & Analysis For the 2021-22 Season

The Jaguars in 2020

Given how they offloaded talent last offseason, we all thought that the Jacksonville Jaguars were setting themselves up for tanking the season. Imagine out surprise when they came out and won the opening game of the year. That, though, was the only taste of victory they got the entire season, as they went on to lose 15 in a row.

When the Jaguars decided to roll with Gardner Minshew as their starting QB. The thought was that they did not have much desire to win and were in fact announcing that they were in the Trevor Lawrence sweepstakes. This is not a slight on Minshew, and while he is well liked in Jacksonville, he is not yet at a point where he can lead a team to a Super Bowl.

Odds to Make the Playoffs and Win the Super Bowl

It has been an interesting season for the Jaguars, starting with hiring Urban Meyer as their new head coach. Meyer comes in with an impressive college football resume, but how that will translate to the NFL remains to be seen. He may, though, be well suited to working with QB Trevor Lawrence straight out of college, not to mention rookie RB Travis Etienne. The Jags picked up some nice pieces in the draft, while also experimenting with Tim Tebow as a tight end. This team has a favorable schedule to start the season, with games against the Texans, Broncos, and Bengals in the opening month of the season. If they can pick up some wins there, this young group might just get some confidence. Can they make the playoffs, though?

YES +300
NO -400

After going 1-15 in 2020, you have to believe that the only way to go is up for the Jacksonville Jaguars. They have some decent pieces in place, but their success is going to depend on how quickly Trevor Lawrence adapts to life in the NFL. If he can replicate what he did with Clemson, he is going to give his team a chance to win every single week. The reality here, though, is that the Jacksonville Jaguars are still very much a work in progress. I think it is asking a little too much to have this team go from a 1-win season to a playoff spot.

It also means that we are looking at a team that is not going to get anywhere near the Lombardi Trophy, which is why they are in at +8000 to win the Super Bowl.

2016 Jacksonville Jaguars Season Win Total Predictions

Previous Betting News

Looking for one of the teams on the rise in the NFL this season? I give you the usually downtrodden Jacksonville Jaguars. This team finally has its act together and as much young talent — potentially — as any team in the league. Jacksonville has a wins total of 7.5 on NFL lines.

Here’s a Analysis on the 2016 Jacksonville Jaguars Season Win Total Predictions

Total Win/Loss Odds Overview

While the offense took big strides last year, the Jacksonville defense continues to be a glaring weakness for the team. The Jaguars finished the season having given up 448 points, second most in the NFL and 24th in yards allowed. Jacksonville’s inability to generate a consistent pass rush remained an issue all season.

But the team adds 2015 first-round pick Dexter Fowler, a pass rusher, as well as the top two picks this year in Florida State cornerback Jalen Ramsey and UCLA linebacker Myles Jack. Both Ramsey and Myles Jack will be closely monitored in camp, with the pair coming off injuries and having high expectations to be the answers to the Jaguars’ defensive deficiencies. Ramsey, maybe the most NFL-ready player in the entire draft, can be an immediate playmaker for Jacksonville’s back end.

Why Betting On The Over

Quarterback Blake Bortles made a big leap in his second season, finishing second behind Tom Brady with 35 touchdown passes while also setting a single-season franchise record for passing yards with 4,428. His 18 interceptions were an NFL-high as well, so room for improvement remains. However, Bortles’ 2015 season should give Jacksonville fans significant reason for optimism moving forward.

Bortles has one of the best receiving duos in the NFL in Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns. Asked if Robinson and Hurns represent the greatest one-two punch in the NFL, Bortles responded, “I’d say they’re No. 1. They’re special, man.”

Robinson set a new franchise mark with 14 receiving touchdowns last year while pacing the NFL with 31 receptions of 20 or more yards. He wins at the catch point with size, length, exceptional ball skills, uncanny body control and superior leaping ability. Hurns boasted the league’s longest touchdown streak, scoring in seven consecutive games.

Bortles does need needs to reduce interceptions and become more efficient. That’s key to the offense’s becoming more efficient – and becoming less dependent on big plays. Pocket presence and improved accuracy are also key for Bortles.

Why Betting On The Under

What about left tackle? While former No.2 overall pick Luke Joeckel’s stats were not atrocious last season (excluding a disastrous Week 17 performance vs. the J.J. Watt-led Houston Texans), he was still prone to allowing pressure and hurries on the quarterback. General manager Dave Caldwell signed tackle Kelvin Beachum to a one-year deal this offseason with a multi-year team option. Beachum, who spent the last four seasons protecting Ben Roethlisberger’s blindside, is Joeckel’s primary competition heading into training camp. Beachum is rehabilitating a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered early last season, but is expected to be ready for the start of camp.

Left tackle isn’t the only offensive line spot up for grabs, as left guard is still unsettled as we head towards training camp. It’s fair to say the offensive line is one of the biggest question marks for the Jaguars heading into 2016. There is some reason to believe it could improve going forward, though; Brandon Linder missed most of the 2015 season, but in 2014 as a rookie, he was among the highest-graded guards in the league. And then you have Beachum.

My Betting Prediction

I really like this team if everyone stays healthy. It’s a new day in Jacksonville. Go over on NFL picks.

Jacksonville Jaguars Top NFL Spreads For the 2016 Season

Previous Betting News

We are still a few months away from the NFL kickoff, although, we have taken the time to review the NFL spreads and make an eye-opening analysis and futures bet predictions on the 2016 Jacksonville Jaguars that will increase your chances of winning this coming season.

Taking A Closer Look at the Jacksonville Jaguars Top NFL Spreads For the 2016 NFL Regular Season

Week 4

Indianapolis Colts (-3.5) at Jacksonville

The Colts are one of my picks to have a great bounce-back campaign in 2016 after suffering through an injury-riddled 2015 season in which they missed the postseason, but it is the Jacksonville Jaguars that are my pick to get the ATS cover at home in this Week 4 AFC South Divisional match up.

Jacksonville snapped a four-game losing against Indy by pounding them senseless in a 51-16 blowout at home last season while covering the NFL betting line in both of last season’s two divisional clashes. I love what Jacksonville accomplished in the off season and I think they bring their collective ‘A’ game to get the home win in this one.

The Pick: Jacksonville 28 Indianapolis 27

Week 6

Jacksonville at Chicago Bears (-3.5)

I don’t have the Jags winning many road games in 2016, but this is a match up I believe they can pull of the upset in. Sure, Jacksonville is just 1-9 SU in its last 10 road games, but they’re also 2-2-1 ATS in their last five road dates and 5-4-1 ATS in their L/10 road contests. Besides, when you’re going up against a Jay Cutler-led team, you always have a shot!

The Pick: Jacksonville 24 Chicago 21

Week 7

Oakland Raiders at Jacksonville (PK)

I know the Oakland Raiders are a team on the rise and that they have a gifted young quarterback and wide receiver in Derek Carr and Amari Cooper, but I believe the improving Jags are going to view this Week 7 match up as a contest they should win against a team that is in the same boat as far as their respective rebuilding efforts. I know the Raiders are a perfect 3-0 ATS in their last three road games and 5-1 ATS in their last six road dates overall, but they’ve also lost three of their last five road games outright while going 4-6 SU over their last 10 road dates overall.

Jacksonville quarterback Blake Bortles doesn’t quite get the same amount of love as Carr, but the two young signal-callers have virtually identical career statistics. I like Bortles and the Jags to hold it down at home in this one!

The Pick: Jacksonville 31 Oakland 28

Week 10

Houston Texans (-1) at Jacksonville

While I’ve got the Houston Texans wining at least nine games for the third straight season in 2016, but I also believe they’re going to split their two regular season AFC South division match ups against Jacksonville with each team winning at home. I know Jacksonville got smacked around in both regular season meeting in 2015 and also dropped their two match ups against Houston in 2014, but that’s one of the reasons I like the Jags to get the big division home win this time around and improve their underwhelming 4-6 ATS mark in their last 10 home games against the Texans.

The Pick: Jacksonville 27 Houston 24

Week 12

Jacksonville at Buffalo Bills (-5)

The Bills won their final four home games a year ago while covering the NFL betting line each time, but they also went 1-3 SU and ATS in their first four home dates under loud-mouthed Rex Ryan a year ago and I believe they could be ripe for the upset in this Week 12 pairing. Sure, the Bills will be looking to extract some revenge against the Jaguars for their humbling 34-31 road loss to the Jags last season, but I’m thinking this contest has the look of a classic field goal game that ends with three points separating these AFC playoff hopefuls. Jacksonville covers the NFL betting line in a heart breaker!

The Pick: Buffalo 27 Jacksonville 24

Week 16

Tennessee Titans at Jacksonville (-4.5)

The Jags were on the wrong end of a crushing 42-39 road loss against Tennessee in their second regular season meeting a year ago, but recorded a six-point win at home over the Titans last season to cash in as a 3-point home favorite and have compiled a blistering 7-1-2 ATS mark in their last 10 games against Tennessee while also going 4-1 SU and 4-0-1 ATS in their last five home dates against the Titans overall. I say, bet the Jags as my final NFL futures bet predictions pick!

The Pick: Jacksonville 35 Tennessee 31
