2022 MLB Week 16 SU Betting Picks for the Top Games of the Weekend

2022 MLB Week 16 SU Betting Picks for the Top Games of the Weekend

We are in the final stretch of the first half as all the teams are winding up with a weekend series. This is close to the stage of the season where some teams are making moves to get back into the playoff race or some are making moves in hopes of winning a World Series. As we head into the All-Star break teams cannot wait for the break but we have one more series before players can take a few days off.

There are a few series to keep an eye on this weekend and one’s to consider betting on. Let’s take a look at a few series to put on your MLB Betting radar this weekend.

Winning SU Picks for the Weekend Action | MLB Week 16 Betting Analysis and Picks

New York Mets vs Chicago Cubs

As a straight up pick, this may be as easy as it gets. The New York Mets will pitch Taijuan Walker on Friday vs. Marcus Stroman and the Chicago Cubs. The offseason signing of Stroman has been an absolute disaster for the Cubs. Stroman will try to find his groove against his former team this afternoon.

The Mets just showed why they are still one of the top teams in the National League with a series win over the Atlanta Braves. The Mets offense in a hitter’s park could be a disaster for Chicago.

Marcus Stroman has not been able to stay healthy this season and when he has, he has not pitched well. Stroman will bring a 2-5 record with a 4.91 ERA into this start. Stroman could be dealt at the deadline this season after his poor first half.

St. Louis Cardinals vs Cincinnati Reds

We like the St. Louis Cardinals for multiple reasons on Friday night as a straight up pick. The series will be played in St. Louis which favors the Cardinals. St. Louis boasts a 27-19 record at home while the Reds are an abysmal 15-27 on the road.

The Cincinnati Reds have been dragged all season for tanking and giving up on their team. The St. Louis Cardinals are currently in second place with a chance to move closer to the Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Central standings. This is a series to watch all weekend for games to win.

The Cardinals and Reds have played six times this season and St. Louis has won four of the six games. In both series, the Reds have avoided the sweep in the final game. The game tonight may be the Reds best chance of winning with Hunter Greene on the mound.

Nolan Arenado will try to lead the Cardinals to a series sweep over the Reds and put themselves right next to Milwaukee for top of the division. It has been a less than ideal first half for the Cardinals but they are right in the thick of things for a playoff position.

The days could be dwindling when we see Luis Castillo moved from the Reds. Castillo has been one of the best pitchers in the National League this season with a 2.92 ERA. He will be one of the top trade targets heading to the deadline.

Milwaukee Brewers vs San Francisco Giants

The final game of the first half for these two teams will be interesting due to the lackluster offenses. The Milwaukee Brewers offense has never been outstanding but the San Francisco Giants are experiencing a low production first half after 107 wins last season.

Logan Webb has not received enough praise this season for his pitching. The Rocklin, California native holds an 8-2 record with a 2.82 ERA on the season. He will be pitching against Jason Alexander who has pitched more this year due to the injuries in the Brewers rotation.

This is a straight up pick that the Giants should win. Webb will be able to hold Milwaukee in check and hope that his offense can bring enough across for the win.
