With all this trade movement, check out the NBA betting lines today because the Sacramento Kings traded All-Star guard De’Aaron Fox on Sunday, but are 1-0 without him, despite not yet seeing the debut of the big piece back in the deal in Chicago All-Star guard Zach LaVine.
It’s expected LaVine makes his Kings debut with the team as a short favorite on the NBA odds against the visiting Orlando Magic.

Orlando Magic Insights
Last Game Review
The Magic haven’t made any major trades yet, and probably won’t by Thursday’s deadline. They lost a fourth straight game and ninth in the past 10 on Monday, 104-99 at Golden State. After the Magic pulled within 96-94 with 1:21 remaining after trailing by as many as 15 in the fourth, Moses Moody nailed an open corner 3-pointer that gave the Warriors just enough breathing room.
The Magic offense went scoreless for three-plus minutes as Golden State closed the game on a 14-7 run. Orlando, 28th in rebounding, controlled the boards 52-45, which led to 18 second-chance points. Goga Bitadze was a big part of that with 14 boards for the Magic.
Jamahl Mosley
“We always talk about it coming down to those final possessions – it’s never that. It’s a 39-point third quarter where you let go a little bit, your communication breaks off, you don’t knock some shots down. You look at a 15-0 free throw count in that third quarter. I think just our ability to defend without fouling, one, and then our ability to attack the basket. We had 52 points in the paint, attack[ed] the basket 47 times and shot 10 free throws. That’s a factor in it, but that’s not the only factor in this game,” Magic coach Mosley said.
Anthony Black
Although Black started at point guard with Jalen Suggs out injured, he faded into the woodwork early, ceding most of the load to Cole Anthony, who had a team-high 26 points along with five rebounds and three assists. It marked Anthony’s second straight game off the bench with 20-plus points.
“I don’t know if we even got a stop,” Anthony said of the closing stretch. “We might have got one or two stops in that final stretch, but … we couldn’t stop them, at least in that final stretch.”
Top Players
Franz Wagner amassed 21 points and Paolo Banchero 18. While Banchero has struggled since returning from his oblique injury, Wagner’s had no such issues. He’s scored 20 points or more in six straight games, averaging 27.2 points. Banchero had a tough night in San Francisco, missing all six of his 3-point attempts and only attempting one free throw. He hasn’t looked quite right since returning on Jan. 10.
Road Games
Orlando is 9-18 on the road this season after going 18-23 last year. Orlando has finished above .500 on the road five times in franchise history, with its best record being 27-14, done in both 2007-08 and 2008-09. The Magic are 11-16 in games decided by 10 points-or-more, compared to 27-20 last year. The team is 8-5 in games decided by five points-or-less, something that you can consider in the NBA betting lines today.
The Stats
The Magic are averaging 103.6 ppg and have scored 100+ points 29 times (21-8 record), 110+ points 16 times (13-3 record), 120+ points five times (5-0 record) and 130+ points once (1-0 record). Orlando is shooting .437 from the floor and shot 50 percent-or-better seven times (6-1 record). Since the 2019-20 season, Orlando is 72-11 (.867) when shooting 50 percent-or-better from the field. The team is averaging 17.6 free throws made per game, which ranks ninth in the NBA, and 23.1 free throws attempted per game, which ranks seventh.

Sacramento Kings Insights
About the Trades
On Sunday night, the Kings agreed to trade All-Star guard De’Aaron Fox to the Spurs in a three-team deal also involving Bulls guard Zach LaVine, Kings forward Kevin Huerter and multiple draft picks. Fox was averaging 25 points, 6.1 assists and five rebounds per game this season for the Kings. He’s been an All-Star and an All-NBA player, and now in his eighth season gets to start anew alongside San Antonio superstar Victor Wembanyama.
De’Aaron Fox
The Kings made Fox available ahead of the trade deadline in recent weeks after concerns emerged within the franchise of the guard re-signing with the team past his current contract, which ends in the summer of 2026. The concerns first started back in October, when Fox turned down a reported three-year, $165 million contract extension. Fox is from Texas and was likely to sign with the Spurs after next season in free agency.
Zach LaVine
LaVine and a bunch of draft picks is a solid return as LaVine is having a great season, averaging 24.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists. He’s connecting at career-best efficiency, setting personal marks at 44.6% from long range and 51.1% overall. LaVine is expected to make his Kings debut in this one, where he will be reunited with former Bulls teammate DeMar DeRozan (definitely you must see the NBA betting lines today).
Zach is on the books for $43 million now and $46 million next season, then has a $48.9 million player option in 2026-2027. LaVine’s move to Sacramento comes approximately six-and-a-half years after he signed a four-year, $78MM offer sheet with the Kings as a restricted free agent. The Bulls matched that offer sheet back in July 2018.
Doug Christie
The trade was yet another shakeup — coach Mike Brown was fired in December — for a team battling to make the Western Conference playoffs. Interim coach Christie said he had conversations with a few of the team’s younger players about navigating the business side of trades. “I wanted to let them know that I’m here for you, your teammates are here for you,” Christie said. “That’s part of what this is. You’re not out there all alone.”
Last Game Review
In their first game after the trade but without LaVine, the Kings were 116-114 upset winners at Minnesota on Monday to snap a two-game skid. Usual sixth man Malik Monk started for Fox and had 26 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Monk looked very comfortable in his new role as he scored 20-plus points for the 11th time in his last 15 appearances. Over that stretch, he is averaging 22.5 points and 7.6 assists.
“It’s definitely a new opportunity and stage,” Monk said. “Starting at point guard is a big opportunity, and it’s a big thing to feel in this league for sure, especially what Fox did for the organization, for the city of (Sacramento). I’m just trying to pick up where he left it.”
Domantas Sabonis
All-Star big man Sabonis had 14 points and 11 rebounds. After seeing his latest double-double streak end at 24 games Saturday, Sabonis wasted no time starting a new one. He leads the NBA in rebounds per game at 14.3, a career high for him, and his 43 double-doubles is No. 1.
^Magic vs Kings Series History
First of two meetings this season, with the Kings visiting Orlando on March 29. Sacramento won both last season but only by a combined five points. The game in Sacramento finished 138-135 in double overtime. Domantas Sabonis had 22 points, 23 rebounds and 12 assists, and Malik Monk scored 37 off the bench for the Kings. Paolo Banchero had 43 points to lead the Magic but missed a potential tying 3 as the final buzzer sounded. Jalen Suggs scored 24. The Kings lead all-time 40-30 and have won the past six.
