The Titans won the 2022 season series with both wins low scoring. The game in Indianapolis was Week 4 and Tennessee prevailed 24-17. Derrick Henry rushed for 114 yards and a TD. QB Ryan Tannehill was 17 of 21 with 137 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. He was sacked three times. Matt Ryan was 27 of 37 with 356 yards, two TD passes and one interception for the Colts but is now retired. Jonathan Taylor had 20 carries for 42 yards before leaving the game injured.
Why Bet on Tennessee?
The Titans’ defense has given up 12 explosive passing plays (20-plus yards) this season. Those 12 plays account for 372 of the 692 passing yards the Titans have allowed through four games. Miscommunication and poor execution have been the root causes of the long passing plays Tennessee has allowed. But that unit played great Sunday when the Titans didn’t allow a single explosive play while holding the Bengals to three points and 211 total yards in a 27-3 win.
“Honestly, we just locked in,” safety Amani Hooker said. “Guys took on the challenge. We had Ja’Marr Chase coming to town. We had Tee Higgins coming in, and Joe Burrow coming to town. So, we knew the work we were going to have on our hands. We took it upon ourselves to go make a play and play good defense.”
With their opening possession of the second half, the Titans pretty much clinched it with a 15-play, 65-yard drive that used 10 minutes and 22 seconds. In terms of clock used, it was the Titans’ longest scoring drive since a field-goal drive that took 11 minutes and 14 seconds at Jacksonville on Oct. 26, 2003.
Tennessee’s Derrick Henry rushed the ball 22 times for 122 yards and one touchdown. He added one reception for 11 yards and a two-yard passing touchdown. It was his first 100-rushing yard performance of the season. He ripped off several big runs, with his longest gain being a 29-yard run into the end zone, during which he ran through several potential tacklers.
Henry, who also recorded one touchdown pass and one rushing touchdown in Week 11 of the 2022 season, is the sixth running back since 1970 with at least two career games with both a passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown, joining Hall of Famers LaDainian Tomlinson (five games), Walter Payton (three) and Jerome Bettis (two) as well as Chuck Muncie (three) and Clinton Portis (two).
QB Ryan Tannehill completed 18 of 25 passes for 240 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday’s win. Tannehill delivered on some key plays, including a 13-yard touchdown pass to Nick Westbrook-Ikhine as well as four completions of more than 20 yards — the latter of which was a season high. Tannehill still has only three total touchdowns across four games while turning the ball over four times.

Why Bet on Indianapolis?
The Colts were 29-23 OT losers at home to the Rams on Sunday, staging a huge late rally simply to force OT. LA won it on a 22-yard Matthew Stafford to Puka Nacua TD in OT. LA led 23-8 in the fourth. After missing Week 3 injured, rookie QB Anthony Richardson completed 11 of 25 passes for 200 yards and two touchdowns and rushed 10 times for 56 yards and another score. He also committed two fumbles, losing one, and converted a pair of two-point conversion passes.
Richardson became the first quarterback in the Super Bowl era — and the first in franchise history — to have a TD run in his first three games. He now has four rushing TDs this season, making him the first quarterback with four scores in his first three games.
Neither left tackle Bernhard Raimann nor three-time Pro Bowl center Ryan Kelly cleared the concussion protocol to play Sunday, and linebacker Zaire Franklin left late in the third quarter with an injured back. The league’s leading tackler did return.
Running back Jonathan Taylor, the former NFL Offensive Player of the Year, is on the PUP list but will return to practice and could play this week. Coach Shane Steichen said he’s had “great conversations” with Taylor, who’s rushed for 3,841 yards (5.1 yards/attempt) with 33 touchdowns over his three seasons with the Colts. The Colts will evaluate how Taylor looks in practice this week before making a determination of his status for Week 5.
“He’s in good shape conditioning-wise,” Steichen said. “Obviously putting on the pads and practicing is a different deal. I know it’s been a long time since he’s played football. So we’ll see how practice goes this week, see where he’s at physically from putting the pads on and we’ll go from there.”
Defensively, the Colts rank in the bottom third of the league in completion percentage allowed (68.7) and opponents’ yards per pass attempt (7.6). Cornerback, in particular, is an issue — especially given that starting cornerback Dallis Flowers suffered a torn Achilles in Sunday’s loss.
