We are down to the final four teams and by the end of next week, we should have our Stanley Cup Finals opponents. We have played two exciting game one’s in both the Western and Eastern Conference. This weekend is set for more action packed games between our final teams.
In the Western Conference Finals, the Colorado Avalanche and the Edmonton Oilers are the final two teams left. The Avalanche have the number one overall seed and have been one of the most dominant teams all season. Game four in this series will be played on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET in Edmonton.
In the Eastern Conference Finals, the Tampa Bay Lightning and the New York Rangers just played game one of their series on Wednesday night. The Rangers exploded for six goals against the Lightning. Tampa Bay is looking to win three Stanley Cups in a row. Let’s have a look at the Conferences Finals games on the weekend so you can place your bets against the NHL Playoffs Odds.
NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs: Conference Finals Weekend Games
Western Conference
Game one of the Western Conference Finals between Colorado and Edmonton was arguably one of the most insane hockey games ever. If you like fast skating, action packed and a lot of scoring, then this series is for you. The two teams combined for a total of 14 goals in the first game with the Avalanche winning 8-6.
J.T. Compher led the Avalanche in goals in game one with two goals. Cale Makar was the first star in the game with one goal and two assists. Both teams used two different goalies in the game with Mark Smith and Darcy Kuemper being benched.
For the Oilers, Connor McDavid led the way with one goal and two assists in the six goals scored by Edmonton. As we saw in the last series for the Oilers, they were dominated in game one and then dominated the rest of the series. Can Edmonton tighten up the defense and win this series?
The Avalanche are the -475 favorite to win the series. You can bet on the Oilers at +350 to win the series.
Eastern Conference
After watching the semifinal rounds, we expected little to no scoring in this conference finals matchup. That is the exact opposite of what we saw in game one on Wednesday night. The New York Rangers won game one by a score of 6-2.
The Tampa Bay Lightning are looking to make it three Stanley Cups in a row and many thought they would lose this year in the first round. The Lightning came back from a deficit against the Toronto Maple Leafs and swept the best team in the NHL, the Florida Panthers. Andrea Vasilevskiy has been a big reason for the success this year of the Lightning and he had a bad performance in game one against the Rangers.
This round is almost about redemption for New York. The last time they were in the conference finals, they lost to the Tampa Bay Lightning. If the Rangers can continue to put pressure on Vasilevskiy, they will be in a very good position throughout the series.
The Rangers are the -125 favorite to win the series. Tampa Bay is close behind with +105 odds to win the series and move onto the Stanley Cup Finals.
