Early 2022 MLB Playoffs Betting Predictions: Teams that Have Disappointed But Could Reach Postseason

As we’re over a third of the way through the Major League Baseball season, there are a few teams who have had disappointing seasons up to this point. A couple of teams that were thought to be World Series contenders haven’t played up to expectations, and if the playoffs were to start tomorrow, they’d be on the outside looking in.

With that being said, we think that a couple of these teams would be good value bets to make the playoffs. Let’s take a look at two teams that we think you should bet on right now to make the playoffs. Let’s get right to it so you can keep planning your bets against the MLB Playoffs Odds

Early Season Major League Baseball Disappointments to take a Flyer On | MLB Betting Analysis

Chicago White Sox

The White Sox are currently 30-31 and are 5 games behind the Minnesota Twins for the top spot in the American League Central. Much of the blame for the Sox’s poor start has fallen on manager Tony LaRussa. LaRussa has made some very questionable decisions and has put together some very interesting lineups. The 77-year-old may be losing touch with today’s players and how much the game has changed.

Injuries have been a huge issue for Chicago this season. Luis Robert, Eloy Jimenez, Lance Lynn, Liam Hendricks, Tim Anderson, Yoan Moncada, and Michael Kopech have all missed significant time due to injuries. Many of these players have returned, but haven’t played as well as expected.

We think that they’ll rebound in the second half of the season and will end up winning the division. Minnesota isn’t particularly strong, and we don’t think that Cleveland can win the division. It may take the Sox firing LaRussa, but they’re going to rebound and will be a playoff team.

Seattle Mariners

We know that they’re 11 games behind the Houston Astros in the American League West, but we just have a hunch that this young group is going to make a run sooner rather than later. First off, they made a huge splash in the free agent market when they signed Robbie Ray. Ray has been a huge disappointment thus far, but we think that he’ll right the ship and will have a very good second half of the season.

This team is full of young talent. Julio Rodriguez is going to be good for a long time. Ty France has been one of the league’s best kept secrets thus far, Kyle Lewis is just getting back into the swing of things after being injured, and JP Crawford is having a very good season. Jesse Winker struggled to start the season, but he’s been hitting better as of late.

With their young starting rotation, the Mariners have something to build upon. Their young starters have shown flashes, and if they can put it all together, this team will make a run at the Houston Astros. The Mariners have made many deals to get to this point, and now all of their young talent is starting to become legitimate major league talent. We’ll see if they can overcome their big deficit, and make a run at a playoff spot. We have all the faith in the world that they’ll be contending with the Astros at the end of the season.
