Top MLB Series Worth Betting this Weekend (August 6th – 7th)
San Diego Padres vs Los Angeles Dodgers
Starting on Friday night August 5, these National League West rivals will begin a three-game series at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California. The San Diego Padres made major moves at the trade deadline in the MLB by acquiring Juan Soto and Josh Bell from the Washington Nationals and Brandon Drury from the Cincinnati Reds.
Fernando Tatis Jr. has yet to return from injury, but the Padres lineup is becoming dangerous. They won’t win the National League West division, but this is more of a gut check to see how they line up against the Los Angeles Dodgers moving forward though. Los Angeles is currently the top seed in the National League and this could potentially be a NLDS Preview.
The Dodgers have the pitching it is kind of undecided what the starting rotation will look like against the San Diego Padres. Trea Turner, Freddie Freeman, and Mookie Betts are three of the key players on the Los Angeles Dodgers roster though.
Atlanta Braves vs New York Mets
The Atlanta Braves and the New York Mets are beginning a five-game series against each other and it could go a long way in deciding the National League East divisional title. New York begins this series up 3.5 games on Atlanta. If the Mets can extend their lead in the division in this series, it will bode well for them. If the Braves can gain ground in this series, then it can bode well for them as well.
New York will be throwing Max Scherzer and Jacob deGrom in this series and Saturday, August 6th, will be the doubleheader. Atlanta is currently in the first wild card spot in the National League and the New York Mets are currently the second seed in the National League.
Ronald Acuna Jr., Austin Riley, and Dansby Swanson will be the key power hitters for the Atlanta Braves in this series. Pete Alonso, Francisco Lindor, and Daniel Vogelbach will be the key hitters for the New York Mets in this series.
New York Yankees vs St. Louis Cardinals
This will be a very interesting series between these two teams. The New York Yankees are the number one seed in the American League and have kind of struggled as of late. The St. Louis Cardinals are trying to catch the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Central and also the Philadelphia Phillies for a wild card spot in the National League.
This series will be a three-game set and Jordan Montgomery will be pitching against his former team. Dylan Carlson was traded to the New York Yankees also at the MLB Trade Deadline. Aaron Judge and Anthony Rizzo have been great all year for New York and Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado have been great all year also for St. Louis.
