As we’ve made it to the last week of the regular season, it’s become more and more clear who the legitimate contenders to win the conference titles are.
Even though we could see an upset or two along the way, we’ve picked a few teams who we think have the best shot at winning their respective conference titles. Let’s take a look at those teams and their NBA Conference Championship odds to win their respective conference.
NBA Updated Conferences Championship Odds
Western Conference
- Phoenix Suns +115
At 62-16, the Suns have the best record in the NBA. They have run away with the Western Conference, and they look like the team to beat for the Larry O’Brien Trophy.
Even without Devin Booker and Chris Paul for stretches of the season, the Suns have never slowed down. They’re in the top three in both offensive and defensive efficiency, which shows that they’re good on both ends of the floor.
- Golden State Warriors +420
Although the Warriors are stumbling down the stretch, the oddsmakers are anticipating them being at full strength for the start of the playoffs. Draymond Green has missed a lot of action, and Steph Curry is out for the rest of the regular season.
Factor those two in with Klay Thompson taking games off for rest, and it doesn’t bode well at times for the Warriors. When they are healthy, they are a legitimate contender.
- Memphis Grizzlies +650
Ja Morant is one of the most dynamic players in the game. He has missed the last few weeks with a knee injury. Even when he’s been out, the Grizzlies have still gone 20-2.
With Desmond Bane and Dillon Brooks stepping up and taking over the scoring load, this team will be even stronger when Morant returns for the playoffs.
Eastern Conference
- Milwaukee Bucks +260
The Bucks are one of the four teams fighting for the top spot in the Eastern Conference. Giannis Antetoukounmpo has stepped up his play as of late, and he looks nearly unstoppable.
With Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday also playing well, the Bucks will be hard to stop. We’ll see how much they miss not having the versatile PJ Tucker during the playoffs this season.
- Brooklyn Nets +320
Even though they’re further down in the Eastern Conference standings, the oddsmakers feel that Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving will be able to carry the Nets in the playoffs. Brooklyn has had numerous injury issues this season, and if they’re healthy for the playoffs, they’re capable of beating anyone.
- Boston Celtics +430
Boston is the best defensive team in the league right now, and they’ve won 26 of their last 32. If Jayson Tatum and Jalen Brown continue to play well, the Celtics have a great shot at making it to the NBA Finals.
- Philadelphia 76ers +475
When he’s on, Joel Embiid is one of the most unstoppable players in the league. If Embiid is playing well and James Harden is hitting shots, the Sixers will be a tough team to slow down.
- Miami Heat +500
Even though the Heat are currently sitting atop the Eastern Conference standings, the oddsmakers don’t seem to trust them. They rely heavily on the perimeter shot, and when you’re depending on Jimmy Butler to close out games, it’s no wonder there’s some doubt.
