Week 1 of the NFL season is officially in the books, with the second week of action set to begin on Thursday night. Wagering in the early part of the season is always a little tougher than the rest of the season, mostly because we don’t yet fully know what to expect from each team. Those who played great in Week 1 might well lay an egg this week, while those who struggled might begin to put it all together. Still, we know enough to start making some predictions, which is what we are going to do here. We will have a trio of parlay picks (SU, ATS, and O/U), which you can mix up and play or which you can add to your own selections. With that in mind, let’s get right to it so you can set down your bets against their NFL odds.
NFL Week 2 Parlay Picks to Bet On
Week 2 SU Parlay Picks – Bears, Rams, Vikings
The general consensus heading into the season was that it would only be a matter of time before Nick Foles tool over from Mitch Trubisky as the starting QB of the Bears. While Trubisky started slow, he finished strong, leading his team to a come from behind win over Detroit. This week, they should win again versus a Giants team that has gone 1-8 SU in their last 9 road games versus the NFC.
One of the more pleasant surprises in Week 1 was how good the Rams looked in a 20-17 win over the Dallas Cowboys. On the flipside, the Philadelphia Eagles looked very poor, save for a good start, against the Washington Football Team, going down 27-17 in a game that they led 17-0 at one point. I like the Rams to go 2-0.
The Vikings were totally hammered in their opening game versus the Green Bay Packers, but they did still manage to put 34 points on the board. I like them to get the win over an Indianapolis Colts team that already has injury issues.
Week 2 ATS Picks – Packers (-6), 49ers (-7), Bills (-6)
While they will be more than a little concerned at giving up 34 points, the Packers must have loved what they saw out of Aaron Rodgers in Week 1. The Packers look like an absolute lock against a Detroit Lions team that is just 2-10 ATS in their last 12 games.
The 49ers are off to an 0-1 start after losing a close one to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1. I think they bounce back in a big way over the New York Jets, who will be without the services of the injured LeVeon Bell this weekend.
One week in and it already looks as though this is going to be a long season for the Miami Dolphins. They were soundly beaten by the Patriots last week and will have another tough one against a Bills team that looks like a good dark horse pick this season.
Week 2 O/U Picks – Falcons/Cowboys (O52 ½), Panthers/Bucs (O 48 ½), Ravens/Texans (O51 ½)
With so many good teams in the NFC, going 0-2 to start the season would be a nightmare. The Falcons and Cowboys are both in with a shot at landing in that hole. Both have very good offenses, so expect them to come out swinging.
It was not a great opening week for Tom Brady and the Buccaneers, but I think they get on track this weekend versus the Panthers. The Bucs have seen the OVER hit in each of their last 10 conference games, so that looks like a good pick here.
The Ravens picked up right where they left of last regular season, running out big winners against the Cleveland Browns. The Texans are looking to avoid an 0-2 hole. Both of these teams trend towards the OVER, so let’s go that way again.
