The NFL Elite Eight is set. The Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers begin their quest to win the Lombardi while the Bills, Chiefs, Texans, Lions, Packers, and Buccaneers already have a playoff victory in the win column.
Which teams look best to get it done in the divisional round?
Let’s take a look at the up to the moment NFL Divisional Round lines as we head into Playoffs:
2024 NFL Power Ranking Analysis before Divisional Round Games | MyBookie NFL Playoffs Preview
2023-24 NFL | 104th season of the National Football League
Divisional Round: Saturday, January 20th – Sunday, January 21st, 2024
NFL Divisional Round Power Rankings
1. Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens are the NFL’s top squad. If Baltimore hadn’t rested their starters in NFL Week 18, they would have gone 15-2 on the season. Lamar Jackson is having the best season of his career, and the defense is playing old school Ravens football. Baltimore is the team to beat to win the Lombardi.
2. San Francisco 49ers
San Francisco has plenty of talented players, including Christian McCaffrey and George Kittle, listed as questionable on the injury report. The Niners are no lock to beat the Green Bay Packers if either McCaffrey or Kittle can’t suit up.
However, if those two play, Brock Purdy and the 49ers offense should have more success against the Packers’ D than Dak Prescott and the Cowboys did. So SF ranks second because they got the bye. Still, it’s a tepid second.
3. Kansas City Chiefs
KC ranks ahead of the Buffalo Bills because Kansas City was ultra impressive when beating the Miami Dolphins 26-7. The Chiefs dominated Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami offense when holding the Fins to 7 points.
KC’s offense appears to be back on track. In the head-to-head during the regular season, it took a rare offensive offside call on Kadarius Toney to hand the Bills the win. KC exacts their revenge.
4. Buffalo Bills
Buffalo has the talent to win the Super Bowl. However, the Bills rely way too much on Josh Allen. JA threw 3 touchdowns and rushed for a 52-yard score against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
One thing that should worry Bills fans is how Buffalo allowed Mason Rudolph and the Steelers to score 17 points. If Buffalo plays the same defense against KC, the Chiefs will win outright.
5. Detroit Lions
The Lions won their first playoff game since 1991 by beating former quarterback Matthew Stafford and a solid Rams squad. However, on a third and fourteen, Detroit did pull Puka Nacua’s jersey.
The non-call, more than anything, is the reason the Lions are playing this weekend. After such an emotional victory, Detroit is going to find it difficult to beat the Buccaneers. Still, Jared Goff and his mates rank ahead of Baker and his buds.
6. Green Bay Packers
If Green Bay didn’t have to take on the 49ers this weekend, they’d likely be ranked in the top four. That’s how impressive the Packers were when dusting the Dallas Cowboys 48-32.
The score difference could have been much worse because Green Bay allowed the Boys to eat up clock and move the football at will in the waning minutes in the fourth quarter. The Packers are firing on all cylinders. So an upset victory over the Niners is possible.
7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa played fantastic football when sending Jalen Hurts and the defending NFC Champions into the offseason. Baker Mayfield threw 3 TDs and the defense held Hurts and the Eagles offense to just 9 points.
Philadelphia may go through some major changes this offseason because the Eagles ended the season not only with an upset loss to the Bucs, but also losing 5-of-6 with the lone victory agianst Tyrod Taylor and the Giants.
In any case, the Buccaneers are poised to upset the Lions. So take Baker and his mates seriously heading into their game versus Detroit.
8. Houston Texans
The Texans are a good football team. But Houston has the toughest task of any divisional round squad this weekend. Houston must go to Baltimore and beat the Ravens.
That will not be easy. Lamar Jackson and his mates are as solid as it gets. Baltimore is the best NFL team to come along in a while. The Ravens scoff at parity.
Houston will be much better in 2024 because the experience of having won a playoff game and losing to what could be an eventual Super Bowl winner on the road is priceless.

2023 NFL Power Ranking Following Divisional Round Games
And then there were four. The NFL Divisional Round games are now in the books and we can begin to look ahead to the Conference Championship Games. There were no surprises to be found in the AFC, as it is the #1 and #2 seeds that will be doing battle. We also saw the #1 seed move on in the NFC, but we had a smaller surprise over there, with Tom Brady once again showing that he knows how to navigate the postseason like a champ. With just 4 teams left, the Power Rankings seem pretty obvious, but that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t try and break it down, which we will do now. Let’s jump right into action so you can continue making your bets against their NFL odds.
Kansas City Chiefs
Anyone who expected the Chiefs to blow out the Cleveland Browns in the Divisional Round were probably a little surprised at the final result. The Chiefs came away with the 22-17 win, which has actually been in line with how things have gone for them over the past couple of months. While they always seem to find a way to win, they have not made a habit of blowing their opponents out. Now, the Chiefs will host the Buffalo Bills, but will they do so with Patrick Mahomes under center? Mahomes was forced out of the Divisional Round Game with a suspected concussion, although he does appear to have passed all tests since then. I would expect him to start next weekend.
Green Bay Packers
Of the four teams that advanced from the Divisional Round, you have to say that the Packers looked to be the most impressive of the bunch. The LA Rams did a decent job of hanging around, but they just couldn’t do enough to slow down Aaron Rodgers and a Packers offense that looks to be humming at just the right time. The Packers came away with a 32-18 win and will now host Tom Brady and the Buccaneers this weekend. This is a team that is beginning to look like the favorite to win it all.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Brady and the Bucs may have had a bit of an up and down regular season, but it certainly looked as though they were starting to put things together in the final few weeks. That momentum has carried over into the playoffs, as they have looked good through the opening two weeks of the postseason. The Buccaneers D did a fantastic job of shutting down the Saints offense, picking off Drew Brees twice in the final minutes of the game. The Bucs won 30-21 in New Orleans but will have a tougher task ahead of them this weekend.
Buffalo Bills
While we have the Bills down at the bottom of the heap here, the differences between these teams are so slight as to be almost negligible. The Bills offense was not at its best in the Divisional Round, but they didn’t need to be, as the D was on fire, holding the Baltimore Ravens to a single field goal in a 17-3 win. It felt inevitable that they would need to go through the Chiefs if they are to win the Super Bowl, and that is exactly where they will be headed on Sunday.
