It’s a rematch of Super Bowl 56 in the second Monday night game in Week 3 as the Los Angeles Rams visit the Cincinnati Bengals, who may or may not have star QB Joe Burrow. The NFL odds obviously are a bit in flux regarding his status.

Series History
Cincinnati leads 8-7 including NFL playoffs but the Rams won the last meeting in Super Bowl 56 in Los Angeles, 23-20. Cooper Kupp caught the winning 1-yard TD pass from Matthew Stafford with 1:25 remaining – Kupp was named Super Bowl MVP but is currently out injured. The Rams defense sacked Joe Burrow a Super Bowl record-tying seven times. The pressure, led by Aaron Donald and Von Miller, was nonstop. Burrow is in question for the rematch.
Why Bet on Los Angeles Rams?
The most-talked about rookie in the NFL right now is Rams wideout Puca Nacua. The fifth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft from BYU totaled a single-game rookie-record 15 receptions for 147 yards in Week 2, after recording 10 receptions for 119 yards in his debut on Kickoff Weekend.
Nacua became the first player ever with at least 10 receptions and 100 receiving yards in each of his first two career games. His 25 receptions are the most-ever by a player in his first two career games and are already the most by any player in his first three career games, surpassing Anquan Boldin (23 receptions in his first three career games in 2003).
Nacua’s 25 receptions lead all NFL players entering Week 3. He can join Michael Thomas (2018) as the only players ever with at least 10 receptions in each of his team’s first three games of a season. He can also become the first rookie ever with at least 10 receptions in three consecutive games and the fifth rookie in the Super Bowl era with at least 100 receiving yards in three consecutive games, joining Odell Beckham Jr. (four consecutive games in 2014), Marques Colston (three in 2006), Mike Evans (three in 2014) and Hall of Famer Randy Moss (three in 1998). Nacua is dealing with a minor knee injury but will play.
In last week’s loss to the 49ers, QB Matthew Stafford passed Peyton Manning for the most passing yards by a player in his first 200 regular season games (52,723 yards in 193 games). He completed 34-of-55 passes for 307 yards and added 17 yards on the ground. After the first half, Stafford had a QBR of 118.3, his best first half rating since Week 18 of 2021. He is ranked third in the NFL in passing yards (641), tied for fourth in completions (58), and tied for second in passing first downs (34) entering Week 3.
RB Kyren Williams recorded one rushing touchdown and one receiving touchdown in Week 2 making him the first Rams player to score through the air and on the ground since Week 8 of 2021. Through two games, he has totaled 29 carries for 104 yards and four touchdowns. Williams is the first-ever Rams player with multiple touchdowns in the first two games of a season. He is tied for fourth in the NFL in offensive touchdowns, tied for first in rushing touchdowns, and tied for seventh in rushing first downs (nine).
The Rams offensive line is tied for second in the NFL in sacks allowed (one) and tenth in pressures allowed per dropback (31.6%). The Rams offense is ranked second in the NFL in yards per game (406.0), first in first downs per game (27.5) and tied for first in red zone efficiency (83.3%).

Why Bet on Cincinnati Bengals?
Cincinnati is 0-2 after dropping a pair of contests to AFC North Division foes in Cleveland and Baltimore. The Bengals rallied to make the playoffs last year after starting 0-2 but no team has done that in back-to-back years.
“The beauty of this team is we know it’s a 17-game season,” Coach Zac Taylor said. “There’s no overreaction on our end. We’ve got to be prepared for it outside of our locker room, which is natural. But we’re in a very difficult division. You’d have loved to come out of it 2-0 — it was a great opportunity. This is exactly where we were last year. This team, I think, is only going to continue to get better with every game that passes. When you stumble early, you’ve just got to learn from it.”
Taylor spent two seasons on the Rams coaching staff, serving as assistant wide receivers coach (2017) and quarterbacks coach (’18).
Will Joe Burrow play? It looks to be a true game-time call but did take some first-team reps on Sunday. Through two games, Burrow has 304 yards with two touchdowns, one interception and a completion percentage 56.9 as he has been dealing with a calf issue.
Should Burrow sit out on Monday, backup QB Jake Browning is expected to earn his first-career start. Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said it would be “doubtful” Burrow would be active if he doesn’t start. So the Bengals are preparing themselves by bringing in a familiar face. Veteran QB AJ McCarron has been signed to the practice squad. McCarron originally was a fifth-round pick of the Bengals in 2014. He has played in 17 career regular-season games with four starts for Cincinnati, the Oakland Raiders (’18) and the Houston Texans.
Whether Burrow plays or not the Rams will need to minimize the impact of wide receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins on this game. Higgins had eight catches for 89 yards and two touchdowns in Week 2. Chase hasn’t had the numbers people are accustomed to seeing from him so far this season, but he’s consistently capable of going for over 100 yards receiving. Between Higgins’ catch radius and Chase’s ability to gain yards after the catch, Los Angeles’ secondary must keep both in check.
This week’s game marks just the third Cincinnati-L.A. Rams meeting on MNF, and the first since 1978. The Bengals are 2-0 against the Rams in those contests. Cincinnati’s all-time MNF record is 12-26.
It will be a special night as it includes the team’s annual Ring of Honor induction ceremony as well as the return of the “White Bengal” helmet. Entering the Bengals Ring of Honor at halftime will be former QB Boomer Esiason and WR Chad Johnson, two of the most prolific players in team history who also endeared themselves to fans with charismatic personalities.
