023 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Home/Away Betting Analysis

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2023 Season Home/Away Betting Guide

We’re still a couple of weeks away from the NFL releasing the official regular season schedule for 2023, but we do know who each team will play, and where. We just don’t know when, which is perhaps the least important bit of information.

We will now give you a brief betting Home/Away analysis of each of the Buccaneers opponents for the 2023 season before the NFL betting lines to win the Super Bowl go out.

2023 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Home/Away Betting Analysis

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 48th season in the NFL
Owner: The Glazer family
Head Coach: Todd Bowles
Home Field: Raymond James Stadium | Tampa, Florida

NFC South

Six of the 17 games are of course, against the NFC South, and the most fun part of the division schedule is the change in quarterbacks. All four teams in the division, including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, will have a different starter than they did in Week 1 last year.

New Orleans now has Derek Carr as their starting quarterback in one of the biggest offseason acquisitions. In Atlanta, the Falcons have been turned over to Desmond Ridder, as Marcus Mariota has moved on. And Carolina began last year with former No. 1 overall pick Baker Mayfield as their starting QB. He is now in Tampa Bay, and new No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young is the head Panther.

NFC Opponents

Last year’s NFC Championship Game featured the 49ers and Eagles, and with the Bucs as a first-place team in 2022, they will get both of them as opponents in 2023. Tampa Bay will play the defending NFC champions, Philadelphia, at Raymond James Stadium. They will play the 49ers at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Tampa Bay will also play all four teams in the NFC North next season. The Bucs lost to the Green Bay Packers last year, but of course, they won in Green Bay in the 2020 NFC Championship Game. The Bucs beat the Minnesota Vikings in that Super Bowl-winning 2020 season, the last time those two teams have played.

The Bucs last played the Chicago Bears in 2021 and won 38-3. They last faced the Detroit Lions in 2020 and routed them 47-7. Mike Evans had 181 yards and two touchdowns in that game.

Facing the AFC South

As with their two games against the Carolina Panthers, the Bucs out of conference schedule will feature top rookie quarterbacks that were drafted in the first round last weekend. Tampa Bay’s schedule features four games against the four teams of the AFC South, and games against C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans, and Anthony Richardson and the Indianapolis Colts.

Both of those games will come on the road, and obviously, when you face rookie quarterbacks, you want to get them early. And both rookie quarterbacks are being led by rookie head coaches, DeMeco Ryans in Houston and Shane Steichen in Indianapolis.

That means that Tampa Bay’s game against the Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars will take place at Raymond James Stadium. The Titans are an interesting team, led by quarterback Ryan Tannehill, but with a pair of recently selected as backups – Malik Willis in the third round in 2022, and Will Levis in the second round in 2023.

The all-Florida showdown with Jacksonville will of course, feature Trevor Lawrence, who last season led the Jags to their first playoff win since 2017.

Tampa Bay’s fifth AFC game will be in Buffalo against Josh Allen and the three-time defending AFC East champion Bills.
