Week 2: Thursday, September 12th – Monday, September 16th, 2024

Betting 2024 NFL Season

Week 1 of the NFL season will wrap up on Monday night, but there were already 15 games played.

It was an exciting Week 1, and there were some upsets or surprises that took place throughout the league.

It’s already time to check out the Week 2 slate of games, and there will be some good betting options out there.

Here is a look at those games coming in Week 2, and whether or not you should be on the action or avoid them.

Writer’s NFL Over/Under Picks for the Second Week of the Season

Buffalo Bills vs. Miami Dolphins (-1.5)

TNF: Thursday, September 12th, 2024

Heavyweights in the AFC collide on Thursday Night Football, and each team struggled in Week 1.

This game could really go either way in Week 2, and it’s best to just sit back and enjoy the great game set to take place.

Las Vegas Raiders vs. Baltimore Ravens (-6.5)

Sunday, September 15th, 2024

Baltimore is returning home after suffering a loss to Kansas City, and they can’t fall to 0-2 to begin the year.

Even though this spread is large, taking the home team is the bet that should be made.

Cleveland Browns vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (-2.5)

Sunday, September 15th, 2024

It was a miserable start for the Cleveland Browns in Week 1, while the Jacksonville Jaguars blew a big lead in the second half.

Jacksonville is clearly the better overall team in this game, and taking them to cover the spread is the way to go.

Los Angeles Chargers (-5.0) vs. Carolina Panthers

Sunday, September 15th, 2024

The Carolina Panthers might be the worst team in the NFL again this NFL season, at least they looked the part in Week 1.

Jump on the Chargers in this game as they will dominate this matchup on the road.

Seattle Seahawks (-3.5) vs. New England Patriots

Sunday, September 15th, 2024

The New England Patriots were the most surprising winner in Week 1 as they upset the Cincinnati Bengals on the road.

This is a game that you will want to avoid betting on as they just might be better than projected.

New Orleans Saints vs. Dallas Cowboys (-6.5)

Sunday, September 15th, 2024

This is another game that you want to avoid as a pair of 1-0 teams are set to take the field.

Dallas should win this game, but the Saints might be good enough on offense to keep it close.

New York Giants vs. Washington Commanders (-3.0)

Sunday, September 15th, 2024

Two of the worst teams in the NFC will meet up in Week 2, and it’s hard to know what to make of either team.

Washington might be the favorite, but you want to avoid betting as the Giants could easily win.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Detroit Lions (-7.0)

Sunday, September 15th, 2024

A pair of 1-0 teams are set to meet up in Detroit, and the Lions are a big betting favorite in this one.

This will be a great opportunity to take the seven points as Tampa Bay is good enough to keep things close.

Indianapolis Colts (-3.0) vs. Green Bay Packers

Sunday, September 15th, 2024

Jordan Love is now out of the lineup for the Green Bay Packers, and that is why the Colts are favored on the road in this game.

This line feels like a trap though as Green Bay is going to find a way to win this game at home to provide some betting value.

Los Angeles Rams (-1.5) vs. Arizona Cardinals

Sunday, September 15th, 2024

Matthew Stafford and the Green Bay Packers Los Angeles Rams are visiting their NFC West rivals on Sunday for what should be an interesting game.

Taking the Rams to win this game is going to be the right bet to make.

Pittsburgh Steelers (-3.0) vs. Denver Broncos

Sunday, September 15th, 2024

This is a game that you simply must avoid, at least until you can make sense of the quarterback room in Pittsburgh.

The Steelers might be 1-0, but they failed to score a touchdown in the Week 1 win.

Chicago Bears vs. Houston Texans (-6.5)

SNF: Sunday, September 15th, 2024

A pair of young star quarterbacks will take the field on Sunday Night Football, and the odds suggest an easy win for the Texans.

Houston should win this game, but taking the points and backing the Bears is too good to pass up.

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Kansas City Chiefs (-6.0)

MNF: Monday, September 16th, 2024

Monday Night Football is always a game to watch, but you won’t want to bet on the action in this game.

Cincinnati will be desperate for a win, but it’s hard to know if they are a good team or not.

Best 2022 NFL Week 2 Games to Bet On, Early Analysis, and Picks

Previous Betting News

Sports fans are so excited about the upcoming NFL Season that they’re laying money down on early week games, including NFL Week 2 where two rivalry games take place, the Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs and New Orleans hosting Tampa Bay. Check out NFL Betting Odds, analysis, and free picks for those two games and five other matchups happening in NFL Week 2.

Must Bet Games in Week 2 of the 2022-23 NFL Season

2022 NFL Week 2

When: Thursday, Sep. 15 – Monday, Sep. 19

Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs -3

Thursday, Sep. 15

On paper, the Chargers and the Chiefs are Super Bowl contenders so this will be an interesting early season game. We know the Chiefs should be as good as they have been in the past few seasons.

However, the Chargers are the new kids on the block. LAC has a chance to be the best team in the AFC West. The Bolts may not win this straight up, but they should keep the final score to within a field goal.

NFL Week 2 Pick: Los Angeles Chargers

Tampa Bay Buccaneers -3 ½ at New Orleans Saints

Sunday, Sep. 18

The Saints own the Buccaneers during the regular season. New Orleans has won four straight over their rivals. This season, the Saints might be the overall better team. Forget the against the spread odds. Back the Saints to win straight up.

NFL Week 2 Pick: New Orleans Saints ML

New England Patriots -1 ½ at Pittsburgh Steelers

Sunday, Sep. 18

Pittsburgh and New England should be similar this season. But the Patriots have the edge in this game because 2022 is Mac Jones’ second season. The jury is out on how good Kenny Pickett will be. Pittsburgh’s defense should have trouble stopping Jones from moving the football. Patriots cover.

NFL Week 2 Pick: New England Patriots

Miami Dolphins at Baltimore Ravens -4

Sunday, Sep. 18

The Ravens won’t be a bad team. They shouldn’t be as good as the Miami Dolphins, though. No. Seriously. The Fins traded for Tyreek Hill and brought in the perfect person to serve as head coach in Mike McDaniel. The former San Francisco offensive coordinator will help Tua become an elite passer. But McDaniel loves to run the ball. So the Ravens will have to pay attention to both the rush and the pass.

NFL Week 2 Pick: Miami Dolphins.

Cincinnati Bengals at Dallas Cowboys -2 ½

Sunday, Sep. 18

The line should be reversed. Cincinnati is the better team. The Bengals had to shore up the right side of their offensive line. So they signed former Cowboy La’el Collins. Dallas should struggle to win this one. If Joe Burrow can escape the Cowboys’ rush, he’ll make Dallas’ defense pay.

NFL Week 2 Pick: Cincinnati Bengals ML

Tennessee Titans at Buffalo Bills -7

Monday, Sep. 19

Covering a 7-point spread versus a very good team doesn’t often happen. However, the Titans traded away Ryan Tannehill’s top target, wide receiver A.J. Brown. Without Brown, Tannehill should struggle in the passing game. Derrick Henry is a great rusher. But no running back can have success without the threat of a passing attack. Bills roll.

NFL Week 2 Pick: Buffalo Bills -7

Minnesota Vikings at Philadelphia Eagles -2 ½

Monday, Sep. 19

Philadelphia is the team that traded for Brown. On paper, the Eagles have a better team than the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings are stronger at quarterback, though. So does having the better QB, Kirk Cousins versus Jalen Hurts, mean Minnesota wins this straight up? It does.

NFL Week 2 Pick: Minnesota Vikings ML

NFL Week 2 Betting Rundown for the Best TNF, SNF, MNF Games of the 2022-23 Season

NFL Week 2

When: Thursday, Sep. 15 – Monday, Sep. 19

Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs -4 | Thursday, Sep. 15

Kansas City dominated the Arizona Cardinals 44-21 in week 1, which is the reason the betting line in this has already gone up from KC -3.5

But while the Chiefs dominated the Cardinals, the Chargers held off the Las Vegas Raiders, a division rival, in their first week game. The Bolts always play the Chiefs tough. The 4 points should matter in this.

NFL Week 2 Pick: Los Angeles Chargers +4

Carolina Panthers at New York Giants -2.5 | Sunday, Sep. 18

When: 1:00pm ET

It took Baker Mayfield and the Panthers forever to get it going in their first game of the season. Once the Panthers did, Baker almost led Carolina to an improbable come from behind victory.

New Giants head coach Brian Daboll decided to go for 2 at the end of the game versus the Tennessee Titans. Daboll’s risk paid off with a Giants’ victory. NYG has the makings of a solid team. The G-Men should cover the spread.

NFL Week 2 Pick: New York Giants -2.5

Miami Dolphins +142 at Baltimore Ravens | Sunday, Sep. 18

When: 1:00pm ET

Baltimore beat the New York Jets 24-9. At first glance, it looks like the Ravens dominated. But a deeper look reveals the Jets played with Joe Flacco under center.

So holding NYJ to 9 points is an okay performance but it isn’t a great performance. The Dolphins blasted rival New England 20-7. Miami looks like one of the better teams in the AFC. The Fins can win this straight up.

NFL Week 2 Pick: Miami Dolphins +142

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New Orleans Saints +124 | Sunday, Sep. 18

When: 1:00 P.M. ET

New Orleans provided one of the greatest comebacks in franchise history in week 1. Down by 16 points in the fourth quarter, the Saints rallied for an improbable 27-26 win over rival Atlanta.

Tampa dusted the Cowboys 19-3 in Dallas, which is the reason the Buccaneers are favorites heading to the Big Easy. But New Orleans has won 4 straight regular season games over Brady and the Bucs. The Saints get the money line upset.

NFL Week 2 Pick: New Orleans Saints +124

Atlanta Falcons at Los Angeles Rams -10.5 | Sunday, Sep. 18

When: 4:00 P.M.

Marcus Mariota can still ball. More importantly, the Rams did not look good in their first game versus the Bills.

So unless you believe the Bills are that much better than every team in the league, the Rams could be in for a shocker. If you’re feeling lucky, back Marcus and the Falcons SU. 10.5 points make the ATL an overlay.

NFL Week 2 Pick: Atlanta Falcons +10.5

Chicago Bears at Green Bay Packers -10 | NFL Sunday Night Football

Aaron Rodgers completed 22-of-34 and threw a pick versus the rival Vikings. Green Bay’s defense gave up 23 points in a 23-7 loss.

Chicago isn’t better than Green Bay. But the Bears head into this after upsetting the 49ers on the money line in week 1. Also, Rodgers won’t find a WR1 in 7 days. Take the points.

NFL Week 2 Pick: Chicago Bears +10

Tennessee Titans at Buffalo Bills -10 | NFL Monday Night Football

Buffalo played great against the Rams, but the Titans have something the Rams don’t, a legit rushing attack. Yes, Tennessee blew the game against the Giants.

But this is 10 points and the Bills play after thumping the rushing attack-less Rams. Derrick Henry will keep Buffalo’s D honest, chew up clock, and help the Titans keep this close until the final few minutes.

NFL Week 2 Pick: Tennessee Titans +10

Minnesota Vikings +108 at Philadelphia Eagles | NFL Monday Night Football

Detroit almost upset the Eagles in Philadelphia’s first game of the season. The key in this one is whether Philly’s D can handle Kevin O’Connell’s brilliant offensive play-calling.

Minnesota has the better overall offense because the Vikings’ have a strong rushing attack and a great passing attack. The Eagles are a rush first team. So O’Connell and Minnesota have the SU edge.

NFL Week 2 Pick: Minnesota Vikings +108

NFL 2021-22 Season: Week 2 Betting Picks & Predictions

Previous Betting News

We have already taken a look at Week 1 of the NFL season and made prediction, so we might as well head into Week 2. As mentioned in the previous piece, it is obviously way to early to be making these types of predictions, but it will be cool to look back and see how we made out once the games begin. As with Week 1, the picks here are all straight up, as we will save the other stuff for closer to the start of the season. Let’s get right into our Week 2 picks so you can get ready to bet against their NFL odds.

NFL Week 2 Picks: Early Predictions for Every Game

New York Giants at Washington Football Team – A huge early season divisional game here. I am taking Washington for the second straight week.

Cincinnati Bengals at Chicago Bears – It will be fun to see Andy Dalton line up against his former team, but I think he gets the last laugh with a Bears win.

Houston Texans at Cleveland Browns – It looks like a total shambles in Houston at the moment, so this should be a blowout win for the Browns.

LA Rams at Indianapolis Colts – This looks like an absolutely fantastic matchup and a tough one to pick. Leaning ever so slightly towards the Rams.

Buffalo Bills at Miami Dolphins – We have a few divisional games on tap this week and this is a good one. Should be another win for the Bills.

New England Patriots at New York Jets – The expectation is that both of these teams will be better this season, but I think the PatriotsPatriots will be a little better in this one.

San Francisco 49ers at Philadelphia Eagles – I have already taken a few road teams in Week 2 and I’m doing it again here by picking the 49ers.

Las Vegas Raiders at Pittsburgh Steelers – The Steelers have made a lot of salary cap moves this offseason and will look different. I like them to win their home opener, though.

New Orleans Saints at Carolina Panthers – There may be no more Drew Brees, but the Saints still look stacked. This should be a win for New Orleans.

Denver Broncos at Jacksonville Jaguars – I had Trevor Lawrence and the Jags winning in Week 1, but I think they come back to earth this week.

Minnesota Vikings at Arizona Cardinals – I said it in Week 1, and I’ll say it again here. I think the Cardinals are a dark horse. I’m taking them in this one.

Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Another divisional game with this one and what looks to be a rather comfortable win for the Bucs.

Dallas Cowboys at LA Chargers – Dak Prescott is back and ready to go, but how far can he take the Cowboys? I think he takes them to a Week 2 win.

Tennessee Titans at Seattle Seahawks – It’s always tough to win on the road in the NFL, but some places are tougher than others. I have the Seahawks winning at home.

Kansas City Chiefs at Baltimore Ravens – The Sunday night game is arguably the game of the week and a tough one to predict. Slight edge to the

Kansas City Chiefs at Baltimore Ravens – The Sunday night game is arguably the game of the week and a tough one to predict. Slight edge to the RAVENS.

.

Detroit Lions at Green Bay Packers – The Monday night game is a whole lot easier to predict. The Packers win easily, with or without Rodgers.

NFL Week 2 Top Picks and Predictions

Previous Betting News

Anyone can give you NFL Week 1 predictions! But we are going to do something different and provide our three top Week 2 picks with projected NFL odds — obviously, things can change with injury, etc.

Week 2 projected NFL odds 2021

NY Giants at Washington (-3)

This is the first Thursday night short turnaround game of the new season. Of course, the Kickoff Game in Week 1 is on a Thursday but obviously no quick turnaround there. Will the Giants have star running back Saquon Barkley? He has begun training camp on the PUP list coming off a torn ACL that cut his 2020 season short. Coach Joe Judge, Barkley and the Giants are taking a long-term view of Barkley’s recovery. So getting Barkley back for Week 1 of the regular season is no guarantee. The priority is to get him fully healthy and keep him that way for the long-term. We think he plays, though.

Washington has been hammered of late by the COVID bug with several players on the list – although obviously better now than in the regular season. Washington ranks next to last in terms of vaccination rate, having just climbed above 70% of players having at least one shot. One team remains below 70%. The overall player percentage in the NFL is 89.4, with 22 clubs over 90% and nine above 95%. Coach Ron River has said he is “beyond frustrated” with the team’s slow pace of vaccinations. He also said he was immune deficient because of cancer last fall.

New York won both matchups vs. Washington last year albeit by only a combined four points. The game in Maryland (where Washington plays) was 23-20. The triumph was secured when safeties Jabrill Peppers and Logan Ryan intercepted Alex Smith passes in the final 2:18. They were the last of the Giants’ five takeaways, their highest total since 2014. They did not have a turnover. Pick: Washington.

New England Patriots at NY Jets (+3)

This presumably will be the home debut of Jets rookie quarterback Zach Wilson, the No. 2 overall pick in this year’s draft. He was the last first-round pick to sign a contract but only missed one day of practice. The Jets probably have the youngest quarterback room in the NFL. The death of assistant Greg Knapp, 58, has left the Jets without an experienced quarterback coach. Behind Wilson are Mike White and James Morgan, none of whom has regular-season experience.

Cam Newton is expected to open the season as v starting QB. However, coach Bill Belichick left open the possibility that No. 15 overall pick rookie Mac Jones could still steal the job if Newton struggles in camp. Both have had their issues so far.

Jones has had several passes batted at the line through the early portion of camp. He stands at 6-foot-2 and there are times where it looks as though he has to navigate the pocket a bit to find an opening between the long arms of defenders at the line. Newton, at 6-foot-5, doesn’t have that issue. And he’s much more mobile. Pick: Jets.

Kansas City Chiefs at Baltimore Ravens (pick’em)

Sunday night game in Week 2. This could be the only time either team is an underdog this season – obviously the spread will be affected by what happens in Week 1. This also could be crucial in terms of potential home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs.

Last year, the Chiefs were 34-20 winners in Baltimore in Week 3. Chiefs star QB Patrick Mahomes went 31 for 42 for 385 yards and averaged 6.5 yards on his four rushing attempts. The Chiefs led 27-10 at halftime and held on to defeat Baltimore for the third year in a row. The Ravens had won 14 straight regular-season games. Baltimore star QB Lamar Jackson struggled, completing 15 of 28 passes for 97 yards and ran for 83 yards, 30 of them on one carry during the Ravens’ opening possession.

The Ravens signed former Chiefs wideout Sammy Watkins this offseason. The Ravens needed an outside receiver to help Jackson and provide another threat opposite Marquise “Hollywood” Brown. Watkins has 321 catches for 4,665 yards and 33 touchdowns over his seven-year career, averaging 14.5 yards per catch. He caught 18 passes in three playoff games during the Chiefs’ run to a Super Bowl title during the 2019 season. Pick: Baltimore.

2022 NFL Betting Analysis and Predictions of the Teams to Most Likely Win their Week 2 Match

Previous Betting News

The NFL is back, and now after a week’s worth of action, we have found a little more out about each team. In looking at Week 2’s slate of games, we’ve found a couple of games that we think have a sure winner. We’ll preview each of those games, and we’ll give you our winner in each of the games so you can place your bets against their NFL Odds.

Who Are the Sure Winners in Week 2 of NFL Action?

New York Jets @ Cleveland Browns (-6.5)

The Cleveland Browns showed us that until Deshaun Watson returns from his suspension, they’re going to be a run-dominant team. The Browns rushed for 217 yards in a come-from-behind victory over the Carolina Panthers. Carolina had taken a 24-23 lead with just over a minute left, but Cleveland got a late field goal to win.

Nick Chubb led the Browns with 144 yards. He averaged over 6 yards per carry. That will be the formula once again this week, as the Browns take on the beleaguered New York Jets. Joe Flacco got the Week 1 start due to an injury to Zach Wilson. The MetLife Stadium crowd booed Flacco throughout the game, as the Jets were only able to muster 9 points in a loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

The Browns had four sacks against the Panthers on Sunday, including two from Myles Garrett. New York’s offensive line isn’t as strong as Carolina’s, so Flacco may be in trouble. The Cleveland defense will present numerous problems for the Jets.

Jacoby Brissett played well enough to win the game, and he’ll see a defense on Sunday that isn’t as strong as the one he faced last Sunday. With a strong running game to support him, we think that he’ll lead the Browns to another victory.

The Browns are one of our sure winners next week, as we see them beating the Jets and winning by at least 10 points.

Tennessee Titans @ Buffalo Bills (-9.5)

The Bills are the favorites to win the Super Bowl this season. In their season debut, they dominated the defending Super Bowl champions on their home turf. Josh Allen had a phenomenal game, Stefon Diggs looked like a top-tier receiver, and the Bills looked like a force to be reckoned with.

On Sunday, they’ll head home to take on the Tennessee Titans. The Titans blew a 13-point lead, and lost 21-20 to the New York Giants. The Titans lost a lot of key pieces from last season’s team, and now they need to figure out a way to make that production up.

While the Bills offense got much of the billing in last week’s game, it was their defense that shined the most. Buffalo sacked Matthew Stafford seven times, and held Sean McVay’s offense to just 10 points. With Von Miller leading the way, the Bills defense should be one of the top units in the league.

Buffalo will stack the box to stop Derrick Henry, forcing Ryan Tannehill to throw the football. Without AJ Brown, Tannehill now has to depend on Robert Woods to be the game breaker. We just don’t see this offense being able to hang with the Bills. Buffalo will run wild all over the Titans and will win this one by three touchdowns.

I have read enough, I need to place my bet now. What to do?

NFL 2021 Regular Season Week 2 Odds Analysis & Picks

Previous Betting News

On Monday, the Las Vegas Raiders beat the Baltimore Ravens in one of the best football games ever played. NFL handicappers barely have time to read the headlines, though, because we must turn our attention to NFL Week 2. Check out current NFL odds on MyBookie, analysis, and predictions for every NFL game this week.

NFL Week 2 Odds Overview & Predictions for Each Game

2021 NFL Week 2

When: Thursday, Sep. 16 – Monday, Sep. 20

Thursday, Sep. 16th Match

New York Giants / Washington Football Team -4

In Week 1, the Giants struggled big time versus a team with a strong defense and decent, not spectacular, but decent quarterback play. The same set up faces NYG on Thursday. The WFT has one of the best defensive lines in football. Quarterback Tyler Heinicke isn’t spectacular but he doesn’t make a lot of mistakes. WFT covers.

NFL Week 2 Pick: Washington Football Team

Sunday, Sep. 19th Matches

New Orleans Saints -3 / Carolina Panthers +3

We may be reading too much into the Saints’ win against the Green Bay Packers. Then again, New Orleans’ defense looks like one of the best units in the NFL. Not only that, but although Marcus Lattimore is out after having thumb surgery, Bradley Roby will start. So even though the Saints could be without eight players who may have to sit out due to COVID protocols, the Panthers should be in some trouble.

NFL Week 2 Pick: New Orleans Saints

Houston Texans / Cleveland Browns -11 ½

Cleveland has a chance to run all over the Houston Texans. But although the Texans should lose this game and they should lose big, Tyrod Taylor is a veteran quarterback who knows how to run an offense. The Browns could suffer a let down after leaving it all on the field in the close loss to KC. Take the points.

NFL Week 2 Pick: Houston Texans

Buffalo Bills -3 ½ / Miami Dolphins

Buffalo couldn’t break down Pittsburgh’s excellent defense. On Sunday, they face another team with an incredibly strong defense. The Dolphins held Mac Jones and the Patriots to 16 points on the road. Now, we’re asking Josh Allen and the Bills to beat the Fins on the road and to beat them by over 3 points. Miami can win straight up. Take the points if you’re not sure about the moneyline.

NFL Week 2 Pick: Miami Dolphins

Las Vegas Raiders / Pittsburgh Steelers -6

On Monday night, the Raiders looked great in a stunning 33-29 overtime victory over the Baltimore Ravens. Pittsburgh upset Buffalo on the road in their first game. The Steelers are a good football team, but they’re giving way too many points in this contest. Las Vegas is the play.

NFL Week 2 Pick: Las Vegas Raiders

San Francisco 49ers -3 ½ / Philadelphia Eagles

In week 1, the Niners were up big versus Detroit, but became lackadaisical and almost gave it up in the fourth quarter. Philadelphia rolled the Atlanta Falcons in a massive road victory. Give the Eagles an edge in this because SF cornerback Jason Verrett and running back Raheem Mostert are out. The Eagles’ offense looks like one of the better units in the league. Philadelphia can win this on the moneyline.

NFL Week 2 Pick: Philadelphia Eagles

Denver Broncos -6 / Jacksonville Jaguars

Jacksonville quarterback Trevor Lawrence threw 3 TDs and 3 INTs. If Lawrence settles down in this game, he should have some success. But it won’t be enough. More importantly, Denver’s offense should dominate a terrible Jaguars’ defense.

NFL Week 2 Pick: Denver Broncos

New England Patriots -5 / New York Jets

Versus the Carolina Panthers, it took a while for the Jets to get things going. Once they did, NYJ made a game of it, falling 19-14. The Jets could win this straight up. So it makes sense to grab the points.

NFL Week 2 Pick: Jets

Minnesota Vikings / Arizona Cardinals -4

Arizona dominated a good Tennessee Titans’ squad 38-13. The Vikings fell to the Cincinnati Bengals 27-24 in overtime. AZ should win this, but NFL teams have a tendency to bounce after big victories. Expect Minnesota to find a way to keep this close either by scoring with the Cards or coming up with a defensive strategy to keep Kyler Murray contained. Either way, +4 makes the Vikings the play.

NFL Week 2 Pick: Minnesota Vikings

Atlanta Falcons / Tampa Bay Buccaneers -13

We never want to lay 13 points in an NFL game. But, sometimes, it’s the only choice. Atlanta couldn’t hang with the Philadelphia Eagles in a home game in week 1 while the Buccaneers beat a strong Dallas Cowboys team. Tampa should cover this spread because, after the first game at least, the Falcons look like the worst team in the league.

NFL Week 2 Pick: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tennessee Titans / Seattle Seahawks -5 ½

Sure, the Seahawks dominated the Indianapolis Colts on the road. But Indianapolis almost always loses their first game of the season and, let’s be honest, how much of an upgrade is Carson Wentz? In any case, the Titans played with no energy in the first week. Expect a strong Tennessee squad to step onto the field on Sunday. Tennessee winning this SU is a real possibility.

NFL Week 2 Pick: Tennessee Titans

Dallas Cowboys / Los Angeles Chargers -2 ½

Cowboys versus Chargers should be an excellent game. The problem Dallas appears to have is, once again, the defense can’t hold up their end. On Sunday, the Boys’ D faces one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL. Justin Herbert took apart a Washington Football Team defense. On Sunday, he’ll have an easier time beating Dallas’ defense.

NFL Week 2 Pick: Los Angeles Chargers

Kansas City Chiefs -2 ½ / Baltimore Ravens

No doubt, Baltimore is stinging after the Vegas Raiders upset them on Monday night. Quarterback Lamar Jackson knows the loss is his fault. Kansas City came back against Cleveland and garnered an important victory. Last season, Jackson said KC is Baltimore’s kryptonite. Why argue?

NFL Week 2 Pick: Kansas City Chiefs

Monday, Sep. 20th Match

Detroit Lions / Green Bay Packers -10 ½

Detroit quarterback Jared Goff played okay in a surprisingly close loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Goff almost rallied the Lions to a fourth quarter tie. Green Bay always blows out Detroit, though. They especially blow them out at Lambeau. But even though Green Bay should play great on Monday night, the Packers had no energy, Aaron Rodgers seemed uninterested, and Green Bay should be doubting themselves after the 3-38 loss to New Orleans. It makes sense to take the points.

NFL Week 2 Pick: Detroit Lions

2022 NFL Betting Analysis and Predictions of the Teams to Certainly Loose their Week 2 Match

Previous Betting News

Now that the dust has settled from Week 1, it’s time to look ahead to Week 2. In looking at the Week 2 games, we’ve found two games where we have come up with a sure loser. Let’s take a look at each of those games, and we’ll give you our pick for the sure losers so you don’t miss your chance to place your bets against their NFL Odds.

Who Are the Sure Losers in Week 2 of NFL Action?

Cincinnati Bengals (-7) @ Dallas Cowboys

Things didn’t start off well for the Dallas Cowboys. Not only did they lose their home opener to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but they also lost their starting quarterback, Dak Prescott, for at least six weeks. The Cowboys will now depend on Cooper Rush to lead them for the foreseeable future.

As for the Cincinnati Bengals, things didn’t go as planned for them, either. They turned the ball over five times, including four interceptions for Joe Burrow, and they lost in overtime to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

On the plus side for the Bengals, they did put up 432 yards of offense. The Burrow to Ja’Marr Chase combo looks like it could be unstoppable. Even though it doesn’t look like Tee Higgins will play, the Bengals will still have plenty of offense to go around.

Dallas will have to make due with Cooper Rush. Rush doesn’t have a lot of offensive weapons. Zeke Elliott and Tony Pollard looked good at times, but Dallas had no passing game to speak of, even when Prescott was in the game. CeeDee Lamb is their most viable pass catcher right now.

Dallas has lost their first game, their starting quarterback, and quite possibly a shot at the playoffs. We’re going to add to their week of losing, by making them one of our sure losers of the week. Cincinnati has a solid defense, and the Cowboys won’t be able to score points. Burrow will overcome his poor play and will put up some huge numbers in Dallas. Dallas loses 28-17 and starts the season, losing two home games in a row.

Carolina Panthers @ New York Giants (-2.5)

Prior to the season, many felt that Panthers head coach Matt Rhule was on the hot seat. After a Week 1 loss to the Cleveland Browns, the Panthers know that they can’t afford to start the season 0-2. If they do, Rhule’s seat could really start to heat up.

Brian Daboll made his head coaching debut, and his Giants overcame a late deficit to defeat the Tennessee Titans. Saquon Barkley had a breakout game, and that could be a preview for the season to come.

Christian McCaffrey didn’t get a ton of action last Sunday, but we think that will change. The Giants know that the Panthers will want to get McCaffrey involved. Baker Mayfield had some good moments last Sunday, but he also had some tough ones as well. We’ll see how he responds to last week’s loss.

The Panthers have lost their last four road games, and they didn’t cover the spread in any of those four losses. We think that the streak moves to five games, as the New York Giants will put Rhule in a bad spot. The Giants win the game by a field goal and cover the spread, making the Carolina Panthers as one of our sure losers in Week 2.

What’s one highlight of Week 2 of this coming NFL season? The first-ever Amazon Prime streamed game as that company takes over the Thursday night package, and the its first telecast will be Sept. 15 when Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers visit Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, who opened as 3-point favorites on the NFL odds.

NFL Week 2 Betting TipsNFL

Iconic play-by-play announcer Al Michaels, formerly of NBC, and Emmy-winning analyst Kirk Herbstreit, who still will call ESPN college football games on Saturday nights, are the two main announcers for Amazon. Michaels called his 11th Super Bowl in February, matching the most ever for a television commentator. Herbstreit has served as the lead college football analyst for ESPN since 1996. Former Seahawks star cornerback Richard Sherman also will play a role on the telecast/stream.

Prime Video will become the first streaming service to air a season-long exclusive national broadcast package with the NFL. The 11-year deal includes 15 regular-season games and one preseason game per year.

Herbert and Mahomes are two of the most exciting quarterbacks in the NFL and their rivalry could be the new Peyton Manning vs. Tom Brady in the league going forward. They split two meetings last year with the Chiefs being upset 30-24 at home in Week 3. With less than a minute left, the Bolts opted not to try a 48-yard field goal on fourth down and Herbert threw a jump ball that produced a pass interference call on the Chiefs’ DeAndre Baker and a first down. Then he hit Mike Williams with consecutive completions, including the TD throw with 32 seconds left that lifted Los Angeles to the win.

Week 2 will also be the Denver Broncos home debut of new starting quarterback Russell Wilson as the Broncos are 11-point home favorites vs. the Houston Texans – the second-biggest spread on the Week 2 board. Wilson has worked with the Broncos’ coaching staff to adjust to a new offense by listening and learning while also making suggestions without overstepping.

“He’s a pro’s pro,” Broncos offensive coordinator Justin Outten said. “You’ll give him some information and it will be a little bit outside of the box. He’ll look at you funny and he’ll see it work and then it comes to fruition. He’s a really good guy to work with.

It will also be the first home game for new Broncos ownership as the team is being sold for $4.65 billion to Walmart heir Rob Walton and his son-in-law Greg Penner. The Broncos had been in ownership limbo since Pat Bowlen, who purchased the team in 1984, stepped down for health reasons in 2014. Bowlen died in 2019. The purchase price blows away the previous record for a North American sports franchise.

The Sunday night game in Week 2 is Chicago at Green Bay, which is -10. Green Bay has won 12 of the last 14 meetings against the Bears at Lambeau Field, including a 45-20 victory last season. The Packers have outscored Chicago, 406-215, in the last 14 home games, scoring 20-plus points in 12 of those contests. It is the third straight season and the 11th time in the last 12 years that the Packers-Bears game at Lambeau Field will be played in prime time and the Bears’ first visit to Lambeau Field in September since 2018.

While there is no Monday night doubleheader in Week 1, there is in Week 2 as Tennessee visits Buffalo (-7.5) and Minnesota is in Philadelphia (-3). The Titans beat the Bills 34-31 last year in Nashville. Star Titans running back Derrick Henry scored his third touchdown with 3:05 left, and the Titans then stopped Buffalo’s Josh Allen on a fourth-down quarterback sneak in the final seconds. The Bills drove to the Titans 3 on their final possession and could have sent the game to overtime with a field goal, but instead went for the win — and didn’t execute.

The Vikings and Eagles didn’t play last season but Minnesota QB Kirk Cousins has a horrible record in his career on Monday nights at 2-9. Both wins came over Chicago, including 17-9 last year in the Vikings’ only MNF game.

2022 NFL Week 2 Betting Analysis: MNF Odds for Titans v Bills, Vikings v Eagles

Previous Betting News

The National Football League has a double-header on Monday, Sep. 19. The fist game kicks off when the Tennessee Titans take on the Buffalo Bills. Then in the second game, the Minnesota Vikings travel to Philadelphia to throw down against the Eagles. See below for more information on both games along with free NFL Betting picks.

Monday Night Football Week 2 Double Header Titans at Bills & Vikings at Eagles

NFL Monday Night Football Week 2 Double Header

When: Monday, Sep. 19

NFL Week 2 Tennessee Titans at Buffalo Bills

Why Tennessee is a good bet versus Buffalo

The Titans fell to the Giants in week 1, but Tennessee didn’t play bad on defense. The Titans allowed just 156 passing yards and 21 points.

2 of the 21 points came on a 2-point conversion on the final play of the game. Also, Titans running back Derrick Henry rushed for just 82 yards. He should have a much better game on Monday night.

Why Buffalo is a good bet versus Tennessee

The Bills ransacked Los Angeles in an impressive 31-10 blistering of the Rams in NFL Week 1. Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen threw for 3 touchdowns and ran for another.

The Bills’ defense locked down on the Rams offense. There’s no reason to believe Buffalo won’t do the same to the Titans offense.

Final NFL Week 2 Betting Analysis: Titans at Bills

At first glance, it looks as if 10 points is a lot. But after a deeper dive, it’s apparent the Bills should dominate Tennessee.

Even though Tennessee stopped the Giants passing attack, the rushing attack went for 238 yards. Josh Allen, along with Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson, is the best rushing quarterback in the NFL. He will dominate as much on the ground as he does through the air. Allen and the Bills cover.

NFL Week 2 Pick: Buffalo Bills -10

NFL Week 2 Minnesota Vikings at Philadelphia Eagles

Why Minnesota is a good bet versus Philadelphia

In their first game, the Vikings pulled off one of NFL Week 1’s top upset wins. Minnesota hosted rival Green Bay and beat the Packers 23-7.

The Vikings offense was brilliant. Kirk Cousins threw for 277 yards and a pair of TDs, both to Justin Jefferson. Minnesota’s top wideout was unstoppable. Jefferson caught 9 targets for 184 yards and the pair of TDs.

Why Philadelphia is a good bet versus Minnesota

Philadelphia faced a decent Detroit Lions squad on the road and managed to rally for an overtime win. The Eagles used the ground game to both get back into the contest and then put a fork into the Lions.

Philly rushed for 211 yards. Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia’s quarterback, threw for 243 yards. It was a fantastic performance by the offense.

Final NFL Week 2 Betting Analysis: Vikings at Eagles

This game happens in Philadelphia, which is the reason the Eagles are the slight favorites. But although Philadelphia has a good rushing attack, the defense looked terrible versus the Lions.

The problem Philly’s D will have in this game is stopping Cousins, Jefferson, and Minnesota running back Dalvin Cook. Minnesota head coach Kevin O’Connell is one of the top two most creative play-callers in the NFL, Brian Daboll with the Giants being the other.

O’Connell will create a strategy that exploits the Eagles’ defensive deficiencies. Minnesota wins straight up.

NFL Week 2 Pick: Minnesota Vikings +114

Winning Predictions For 2016 NFL Week 2

Previous Betting News

Nothing is ever guaranteed in the NFL, not even when your name is Ryan Fitzpatrick and you are coming off your best career season, hoping that your exploits will land you a speedy deal with the Jets. The same story is true for NFL odds, which change quickly and favorites can easily turn to underdogs (like we’ve seen with the Week 1 NFL lines for the Patriots @ Cardinals since the announcement of Tom Brady’s suspension was made). Even with all that, our focus on analyzing early NFL lines for the 2016 will never change. Wanna join us in looking at the early online sportsbooks previews and predictions for the upcoming NFL season? Hope you do because we have some sumptuous NFL Week 2 Free picks prepared for you below.

Analyzing The Winning Predictions For 2016 NFL Week 2

New York Jets at Buffalo Bills (-2)

NFL Week 2 Free Pick: NY Jets (+2)
The New York Jets and Bills are two teams that have been hard to talk about in this offseason, given the nature of their yet-to-be-solved contract situations, especially at starting QB. Things, are, however, starting to move in the right direction for the Jets, who awarded Jets Pro Bowl defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson a record five-year, $86 million contract, with reports suggesting that QB Ryan Fitzpatrick will soon be getting his deal completed soon. Rex Ryan and the Bills, meanwhile, don’t appear to be making much headway with Tyrod Taylor’s contract; something that is likely to continue dragging late into the offseason hence affecting Buffalo’s preparation for the new season. So, while I am fully aware that the Jets have lost their last five straight overall meetings against the Bills (including replica losses of 22-17 in their two meetings last season); I’d be willing to punch my ticket on New York’s better preparation for the new season to prove as a key difference in this game, allowing Wilkerson and Co. to deliver an upset win in this early-season clash.

Baltimore Ravens (-3) at Cleveland

NFL Week 2 Free Pick: Baltimore (-3)
The $132.5 million spent by Baltimore since Super Bowl 50—fourth highest guaranteed money in the league–is an indication that the Ravens mean business in 2016. After all, the majority of that money spent on filling up the holes in Baltimore’s troubled O and D lines from last year. Obviously, it remains to be seen how the offseason investments will indeed translate into value on the field, but on paper, the expectation is that Baltimore will be playing much better than it did in its dismal 5-11 campaign in 2015. The same cannot be said for the in-transition Cleveland, who still have plenty of holes to plug in the team. In this Week 2 fixture, the Ravens—winners of 3 of their last 5 games against Cleveland, including a 33-27 win at the FirstEnergy Stadium (Cleveland, OH) last season—should be your preferred NFL pick.

San Francisco 49ers at Carolina Panthers (-11.5)

NFL Week 2 Free Pick: Carolina (-11.5)
The last time the Panthers played the Niners in the 2014 NFL playoffs, a game the 49ers won 23-10, Colin Kaepernick was a household name while Cam Newton was an error-laden quarterback. Fast forward to the start of the 2016 season, Kaepernick is fighting for a starting QB job after a pathetic show in 2015 while Newton is the reigning MVP in the league coming off a season for the record books. That’s the life in the NFL, and you gotta know your study the flow and roll with the tide. With that in mind, and the fact that the Panthers are in another stratosphere compared the rebuilding Niners; you’d be a fool not to pick Newton and Carolina for the win and points in this clash over Kaep and San Francisco. FYI, the Niners had lost their four straight previous games against Carolina prior to the win in the 2014 playoffs.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Arizona Cardinals

NFL Week 2 Free Pick: Tampa Bay (+9)
Since the 23-7 win by Tampa Bay over the Cardinals in 1992, these two teams have played 7 times (with Tampa Bay owning a 4-3 edge in those meetings). More notably, though, none of the winning team in the seven-game stretch has won a game by more than 7 points. Given their last meeting came in 2013, one may disapprove of these statistics, calling them stale, but in reality, they point towards an important trend—which is that the meetings between these two teams tend to be tight affairs. Granted, 2002 Heisman winner Carson Palmer and the Cardinals are a more formidable unit, if the past couple of seasons are anything to go by, so it is no surprise that Arizona is favored highly here. Nonetheless, Tampa Bay proved it could play tough under 2013 (and youngest-ever) Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston, so the Bucs could should be able to play even better in 2016 now that the team surrounded the QB with better weapons to work with in his second year. Therefore, even though I have no doubts about Arizona’s capacity to get the win here, I expect Winston and the Bucs to be a handful, playing their absolute best to at least cover the huge 9-point spread.

Previous Betting News

Okay pigskin betting aficionados, if you’re ready for some NFL picks and predictions, then you’ve come to the right place! Will the Washington Redskins take care of business in their Week 2 showdown against longtime NFC East rival Dallas?

Who’s going to come out on top when Pittsburgh and Cincinnati stage one of their two perennial AFC North wars? Last but not least, will the Los Angeles Rams continue their trend of giving Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks a tough way to go? Let’s find out as I break down every Week 2 matchup on the 2016 docket.

Here’s a Closer Look At The 2016 NFL Week 2 Full Game Winning Predictions

Thursday, September 15, 2016

New York Jets at Buffalo Bills (-2)
Maybe it’s me but I’m wondering how many interceptions Rex Ryan’s defense is going to force New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith into? Buffalo wins and covers the NFL betting line in this AFC East divisional showdown.

Sunday, September 18, 2016

San Francisco 49ers at Carolina Panthers (-11.5)
Carolina will undoubtedly win this Week 2 matchup, but I’m going with Frisco to cover by the slimmest of margins.

Dallas Cowboys at Washington Redskins (PK)
These NFC East rivals split their two regular season matchups in 2015 while winning on the road. This season, both playoff hopefuls hold it down at home, making the Skins the pick to win and cash in against the ‘Boys this Week 2 clash.

Cincinnati Bengals at Pittsburgh Steelers (-4)
Without dual-threat running back Le’Veon Bell, Pittsburgh is a lot more one dimensional on offense, making the ‘desperate’ Bengals the pick to cover, possibly by recording the outright road win.

New Orleans Saints at New York Giants (-4.5)
The big question surrounding this Week 2 matchup is whether anyone’s going to play any defense. I like the Giants to win a high-scoring thriller, but the Saints to cover – barely.

Miami Dolphins at New England Patriots (-9.5)
Laugh all you want…all I know is that a retired Brett Favre is probably still better than Miami’s Ryan Tannehill. Still, without Tom Brady, the Fins cover with room to spare.

Kansas City Chiefs at Houston Texans (PK)
The Texans and Chiefs have very real postseason plans heading into 2016 and even though I like the Chiefs’ chances of making a deep playoff run more than I like Houston’s I’m going with the Texans to get the narrow home win as a pick ‘em.

Tennessee Titans at Detroit Lions (-5)
Matthew Stafford and the Lions are going to simply outscore Marcus Mariota and the Titans in this Week 2 Inter-conference affair.

Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns (+3)
While I’m expecting Cleveland to give Baltimore a tough way to go in this Week 2 pairing, I’m going with Baltimore to get the win and narrow ATS cover as a 3-point road favorite as they get back to being the winning franchise they’ve been for the better part of the last decade and a half.

Seattle Seahawks at Los Angeles Rams (+4)
I don’t have a clue why the perennially mediocre Rams give Russell Wilson and the Seahawks absolute fits, but they certainly do. Don’t call it an upset…’cause this is what the Rams do…well, at last to Seattle. L.A. covers in another stunner against Seattle!

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Arizona Cardinals (-9)
Let’s see…Carson Palmer and the Cardinals are far superior to Jameis Winston and the Buccaneers, but why does the 9-point spread feel like a classic trap? I’m going with a feisty Tampa Bay ballclub to cover the spread!

Jacksonville Jaguars at San Diego Chargers (-2.5)
Make no mistake about it people…this Week 2 matchup is a must-win for Philip Rivers and the Bolts. San Diego gets the win and ATS payday.

Falcons at Oakland Raiders (-3.5)
Everyone’s excited about Derek Carr and the blossoming Oakland Raiders, but I like Matt Ryan and the Falcons to cover the spread at the very least in this Week 2 pairing that I expect to be a fun-filled, high-scoring matchup.

Indianapolis Colts at Broncos (-5)
The Broncos might have an elite defense, but I think they’re going to struggle offensively in 2016 while a healthy Andrew Luck gets back to showing everyone why he’s a legitimate franchise signal-caller. Indianapolis covers the NFL betting line – by winning outright!

Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings (PK)
The Packers will be looking for revenge against Minnesota after losing their grip on the NFC North title last season, but I don’t think they’re going to get it in this Week 2 matchup. The Vikes are solid defensively and playing at home against a Packers team they suddenly match up very well against. Minnesota wins outright.

Monday, September 19, 2016

Philadelphia Eagles at Chicago Bears (-2.5)

I like John Fox and his Chicago Bears to get the slim home win and ATS cover in this Week 2 affair as mediocre Jay Cutler outplays ‘Mr. Deer in the Headlights’ Sam Bradford.

Best Bets For 2016 NFL Week 2

Previous Betting News

Week 1 of the NFL season is in the bag, and a few teams have already signaled their Super Bowl intent. Yes, I know that it’s a little early to start declaring teams as big favorites, but there were a few who certainly lived up to their Super Bowl betting odds, while others showed that they deserve to be at the bottom. As I put this piece together, the Week 2 lines have yet to be released, so I’m just going to go ahead and make some straight up predictions. We will have more detailed looks at a number of these games, as well as their betting odds, as the week progresses.

Here’s a Closer Look At The Best Bets For 2016 NFL Week 2

New England Patriots over Miami Dolphins

The New England Patriots went into Arizona in Week 1 as a 9.5-point underdog, yet managed to come away with a 23-21 win. Jimmy Garoppolo, in for the suspended Tom Brady, looked very much the part, going 24 of 33 for 2884 yards and a TD toss. The Patriots did give up a solid lead in the second half, but closed the game out late with a field goal to get a very big win. They go against a Dolphins team this week who looked pretty sound defensively in a 12-10 loss to the Seahawks. The offense was bleak, though, with only 64 yards on the ground. Patriots win this one.

Carolina Panthers over San Francisco 49ers

The Panthers had history repeat itself in the season opener, going down to the same team that beat them in the Super Bowl last season. The Panthers looked good in the first half against the Broncos, but ran into a defensive wall in the second. Week 2 will see them face a 49ers teams that won 28-0 against an awful looking LA Rams team on Monday night. The win was nice, but they did not look good doing it. Comfortable win for the Panthers at home.

Detroit Lions over Tennessee Titans

I’m not going to lie, I thought the Lions were in trouble this year without Calvin Johnson in the line-up, but they still have Matthew Stafford at QB, and he lit things up in a stunning 39-35 win over the Colts in Indianapolis. The Titans held the Vikings scoreless through the first half of their opening game, but were eventually worn down in a 25-16 loss. That defeat came at the hands of a team with QB issues, which makes me think they might not fare so well against Stafford.

Denver Broncos over Indianapolis Colts

It’s way too early to suggest that the Colts may be a desperate team, but it looks as though they have some serious issues to address after giving up 39 points to the Lions at home. They are going against a Denver Broncos team in Week 2 who showed that it’s going to be business as usual on defense, and that Trevor Siemian may not be as bad a QB as we all believed he might be. I’m taking the Broncos to win again.

Top NFL Upset Picks For Week 2

Previous Betting News

Fe, Fi, Fo, Fum…I smell some Week 2 upsets, now here they come! Three favored teams look like they’re going to be on the wrong end of upset outcomes in their respective Week 2 matchups.

If you’re looking for some value-packed pairings that have a great chance of paying huge dividends, then let’s get started.

A Closer Look At The Top NFL Upset Picks For Week 2

Tampa Bay at Arizona -6.5

When: 4:05 PM ET, Sunday, September 18, 2016
Where: University of Phoenix Stadium, Glendale, Arizona

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and more importantly, second-year signal-caller Jameis Winston looked mostly fantastic in upsetting Atlanta 31-24 in their Week 1 NFC South divisional showdown as a 2.5-point road underdog no less. The Arizona Cardinals looked nothing like the Super Bowl title contender they were supposed to be in their humbling 23-21 Week 1 loss to the Tom Brady-less New England Patriots.

Now, I’m expecting the Bucs and Winston to make another statement by easily covering the spread against Arizona. I know Tampa Bay has gone 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games, but Arizona has also gone 1-4 ATS in its last five games. For me, the growth of Winston is clearly evident while Arizona and veteran signal-caller Carson Palmer consistently underachieve, generally at the worst time possible. The Cardinals may be playing at home, but I smell an upset looming for the blossoming Jameis Winston and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

My Pick: Tampa Bay 31 Arizona 28

Indianapolis at Denver -6

When: 4:25 PM ET, Sunday, September 18, 2016
Where: Sports Authority Field, Denver, Colorado

The Denver Broncos put the clamps on Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers (again) in Week 1 to get the narrow 21-20 SU win and ATS cover as a 3-point home dog. Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts played fantastic football on offense by scoring an impressive 35 points in Week 1. Unfortunately, the Colts didn’t play much defense and ended up on the wrong end of a heartbreaking 39-35 loss against Matthew Stafford and the Detroit Lions while failing to cover the spread as a 2.5-point home favorite.

The Colts have won two straight and three of four over the Broncos since Andrew Luck became the starting quarterback in Indianapolis and I believe they’re going to get another upset win as Luck makes all the plays that Cam Newton failed to. Indianapolis may be 2-4 ATS in its last six games while Denver has won five straight at home, but odds and trends be damned – Andrew Luck has Denver’s number!

My Pick: Indianapolis 27 Denver 21

Miami +6.5 at New England

When: 1:00 PM ET, Sunday, September 18, 2016

Where: Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, Massachusetts

I know the New England Patriots looked really solid in their hard-fought 23-21 Week 1 win over Arizona as a 9.5-point road dog without Tom Brady under center, but the Miami Dolphins may have looked even better despite losing to Seattle 12-10 as a 10.5-point road underdog. While the Patriots have owned the AFC East and are perennial playoff participants to Miami’s often underachieving ways, the Dolphins have more than held their own against New England recently.

Miami has won three of the last five meetings against New England and just looked like a different team under new head coach Adam Gase than they ever were under previous head coach Joe Philbin. I loved the effort of Ndamukong Suh and the rest of Miami’s front seven and I believe they’re going to get after Jimmy Garoppolo while forcing him into at least one costly turnover.

While Miami is just 2-6 ATS in its last 8 games and New England has gone 4-1-1 ATS in its last six games at home, I’m going to urge you to back the Dolphins for the huge upset!

My Pick: Miami 24 New England 21

Week 1 of the NFL season is officially in the books, and that means we now have some data to work with when making bets for the coming weeks. Yes, it’s tough to get a true read of every team after just one game, but there have been some weaknesses thrown up that have to be seen as red flags. There are also some major injuries to consider, as Week 1 proved to be tough on a couple of teams. I’ll be taking both of those into account when making my picks for Week 2. The betting odds for these games are in place, but be sure to check for live odds updates, just in case there are some late changes.

Here’s a Closer Look At The Winning Predictions For The 2016 NFL Week 2

Baltimore Ravens (-6) Vs Cleveland Browns

It was always going to be a tough season for the less than impressive Cleveland Browns, but things took a real turn for the worse in Week 1 with the loss of RGIII. The initial diagnosis of his shoulder injury has him being out 10 weeks, but there is the belief that he may be done for the year. The Ravens defense looked very good in a 13-7 Week 1 win over the Buffalo Bills, and they should be able to handle whatever the Browns throw at them this weekend on the way to a comfortable win.

Detroit Lions (-6) Vs Tennessee Titans

The biggest concern for the Lions heading into this season was how they were going to fill the offensive hole left with the retirement of Calvin Johnson. Stories of their demise may have been overstated, though, as the Lions went into Indianapolis in Week 1 and put 39 points on the board in a 39-35 win over the Colts. Matthew Stafford was nothing short of brilliant, and a similar performance against the Titans this weekend should yield another win. I also like the OVER 47 points in this one.

Oakland Raiders (-4.5) Vs Atlanta Falcons

There was an awful lot of positive buzz surrounding the Raiders coming into this season, and they proved why in Week 1 of the season. The Raiders came back to get a 35-34 win over the New Orleans Saints, but really proved that things have changed by going for 2 points and the win in the dying seconds of the game. It was a gutsy call, and one that may well be proof that the Raiders are back. I think they will take advantage of a very weak looking Falcons secondary to get the win in Week 2.

Carolina Panthers (-13.5) Vs San Francisco 49ers

The Panthers had an opening week to forget, as they once again went down to the Denver Broncos in a rematch of Super Bowl 50. That is a loss that is sure to be eating away at them when they face the 49ers this weekend. San Francisco got a 28-0 win over the Rams in Week 1, but the performance was not as impressive as the score suggests. I like the Panthers to blow out the 49ers this weekend, as they get the bad taste of that loss out of their mouths.

NFL Trio Of Underdogs You Should Bet On During Week 2

Previous Betting News

If you’re an online NFL Sportsbook betting aficionado, then you know that there’s nothing like making a winning wager – by betting on a bankroll-boosting underdog whose chances of winning are far undervalued.

Thanks to the expert analysis and free picks that you’re about to get on a trio of Week 2 underdogs, you’re going to have three great opportunities to cash in on a trio of value-packed underdogs. Okay, with that said, let’s go!

Analyzing The NFL Trio Of Underdogs You Should Bet On During Week 2

Tampa Bay at Arizona -6.5

When: 4:05 PM ET, Sunday, September 18, 2016
Where: University of Phoenix Stadium, Glendale, Arizona

All I can say is that it is now crystal clear that second-year signal-caller Jameis Winston is going to be a star in the NFL, if he isn’t quite yet. The former Florida State star led the Buccaneers to an emphatic 31-24 win over NFC South division rival Atlanta in a contest that wasn’t nearly as close as the final score indicates.

The Denver Broncos may have shut down Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers in Week 1 to get the narrow 21-20 SU win and ATS cover as a 3-point home dog, but I’m going with Andrew Luck and the underdog Indianapolis Colts to get the huge upset in this Week 2 affair after putting 35 points on the board in their crushing 39-35 loss against Detroit in their opener last weekend.

I’ve ripped Ryan Tannehill and the underachieving Miami Dolphins for years, but I’m bringing that to an end at least for one week. While the New England Patriots looked really solid in their hard-fought 23-21 Week 1 win over Arizona as a 9.5-point road dog without Tom Brady under center, I thought Miami was just as impressive in their opener despite losing to Seattle 12-10 as a 10.5-point road underdog.

NFL Week 2 Picks Early Winning Predictions for Every Game

Previous Betting News

The first NFL Week 2 preseason game of the year is only a couple of days away, and while it’s going to be great to see football again, most of us are simply biding out time waiting for the regular season to begin. I have already started going through the entire schedule to find potential wagers, although my early picks will likely change as injuries, suspensions, and other factors come into play. Today, let’s look ahead to Week 2 of the season, along with some NFL betting predictions for each game.

Here’s A Closer Look At The NFL Week 2 Picks Early Winning Predictions for Every Game

Houston Texans at Cincinnati Bengals

The Thursday night game has the potential to be a good one, as the Texans will take their highly touted defense to Cincinnati to face a Bengals team that is under pressure to make the playoffs. Much of the Texans success is going to hinge on how well DeShaun Watson plays at QB, but that defense should keep them in games. Texans win a close one.

Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens

The season hasn’t even begun and already the Ravens have had to deal with injuries and unexpected retirements. That said, they should still be good enough to beat the Browns at home in NFL Week 2.

Chicago Bears at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Bucs surprised a lot of people last year, and I expect them to take another step forward this season in what is sure to be a competitive NFC South. I think that Tampa Bay will win this one quite comfortably.

Minnesota Vikings at Pittsburgh Steelers

There are a lot of folks who like the Steelers to hoist the Super Bowl this season, especially if their high-powered offense stays healthy. This is a tough match-up for them, but you got to give Pittsburgh the edge at Heinz Field.

New England Patriots at New Orleans Saints

We could very well be in for a shootout here, as two of the most accurate QB’s in the league go head to head. This is one where I will be looking at the point total and the OVER, but I also like the Patriots straight up.

Philadelphia Eagles at Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs have been knocking on the door the last couple of season, but just can’t seem to make a breakthrough in the postseason. They will be good again this season, and should win this one at home.

Tennessee Titans at Jacksonville Jaguars

The Titans are another team that appear to be on the rise, while the Jaguars continue to swim in a sea of mediocrity. Tennessee are going to be in a battle to win the South this year, and they need to win games like this one, which they will.

Arizona Cardinals at Indianapolis Colts

These are a pair of teams that look hard to predict this season. Both have the potential to be good, but are also both coming off sub-par seasons. Give the slight edge to the Colts at home.

Buffalo Bills at Carolina Panthers

Will the real Carolina Panthers please stand up. Is this going to be the team that went to the Super Bowl two season ago or the one that failed to make the playoffs last season? Probably somewhere in the middle, but a win here looks very likely.

New York Jets at Oakland Raiders

With a move to Las Vegas coming, it’s going to be interesting to see how things go at home for the Raiders this season. Regardless of how the fans react, this is a game that their team should win comfortably during NFL Week 2.

Miami Dolphins at LA Chargers

The Chargers were better than their record suggested last season, as many of the games they lost were of the very close variety. This seems like to evenly matched teams, so let’s give the home nod to the Chargers.

San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks

Seattle is always a tough spot to land for a visiting team, and it gets even tougher when you are a team as bad as the 49ers look to be. Easy win for the Seahawks.

Washington Redskins at LA Rams

I always try to look for potential road winners every week, simply because the odds are always a little tastier. This is one where I will almost certainly be going with the road team, as the Rams look to be toothless on offense again.

Dallas Cowboys at Denver Broncos

Quite possibly the game of the NFL Week 2, and one that looks almost too close to call. I like the Cowboys to have another big season, but I think they may come up just short at Mile High.

Green Bay Packers at Atlanta Falcons

It’s a repeat of the NFC Championship Game from last season, which was won by the Falcons 44-21. Don’t think we will see another blowout here, although I do believe Atlanta will get the win.

Detroit Lions at New York Giants

Two teams that appear to be quite evenly matched will hook up on Monday night. The UNDER will be what I am looking at with this one, although I also like the Giants at home.
