NHL Must Bet Games in Week 7, keeping in mind the current NHL standings 2024

If you look at the current NHL standings, there are certainly some surprises to be found, but when you consider that each team has played around 20 games or fewer, you begin to understand that this is only a small sample of the season as a whole.

Things can and will change, with some of the surprise teams sure to fall off, while those out to a slow start might well find their groove.

My Analysis of the NHL Must Bet Games Week 7

All we can do as fans and bettors is take it one week at a time, which is exactly what we are doing here.

We are going to look at the games coming over the next few days and pick out the games that jump off the schedule, so let’s get to it.

Florida Panthers at Winnipeg Jets

Tuesday, November 19, 2024, 8:00 PM, ESPN+

This might well be the best game on the schedule this week, as we have a pair of division leaders going head-to-head. The Florida Panthers are sitting atop the Atlantic Division, albeit by just a single point over the Maple Leafs. They have been in great form recently, going 8-2-0 over the last 10 games, while posting a 6-2-0 record overall on the road.

The Winnipeg Jets came storming out of the gate, positing ridiculous numbers, but they have stumbled a little, losing their last 2 games. They are still 7-3-0 in their last 10 and are 8-1-0 at home.

Vegas Golden Knights at Toronto Maple Leafs

Wednesday, November 20, 2024, 7:30 PM, ESPN+

The Pacific Division is proving to be a lot tighter than expected in the early going, but it is the Vegas Golden Knights who come into this week with a slender lead at the top. They are, though, coming off a loss, which dropped them to 6-3-1 over their last 10 games.

They have been very good at home and just mediocre on the road, going 3-3-2 in their 8 games played away from home. The Maple Leafs have started well and find themselves just 1 point out of the lead in the Atlantic Division. They have won 2 in a row and are at 8-3-0 on home ice this season.

Carolina Hurricanes at New Jersey Devils

Thursday, November 21, 2024, 7:00 PM, ESPN+

The battle for supremacy in the Metropolitan Division is alive and well, with just 3 points separating the top 4 teams. The Hurricanes and Devils are tied at 26 points at the top of the division, so we could see a new leader once this week is all said and done.

It is the Hurricanes who have the edge at the moment and who are in form at 8-2-0 in their last 10, while going 6-3-0 overall on the road. The Devils are coming off a loss, but they are still 7-3-0 in their last 10, as well as 4-3-2 at home, so they are beatable on home ice.

Dallas Stars at Tampa Bay Lightning

Saturday, November 23, 2024, 7:00 PM, ESPN+

The weekend begins with a fantastic matchup between a pair of very good teams. The Stars took a minute to get going, but they are very much rolling now, winning 3 in a row to close out last week, although they are still 8 points back of the high-flying Jets at the top of the division.

Dallas is 4-4-0 on the road, so there is still room for improvement there. Tampa has been a little up and down to start the season, but they closed out last week with back-to-back wins. They have been very good at home, going 6-1-1 in their own building.

2021 NHL Week 7 Best Matches

It’s a quiet day in the hockey world, with the NHL going dark for Thanksgiving Day in the US. That gives us some time to look back at the games played to this point and the teams that are setting the tone early in the NHL. It’s always good to stop for a moment and take a look at the standings now, as there is a very solid chance that they will be very different once we get closer to the end of the season. For now, though, the current records of each team help us identify the big games that are coming this weekend. Let’s start on Friday and take a look at the best matchups for the weekend so you can bet against the NHL Odds.

Top 2021 NHL Matches to Must Watch & Bet On Week 7

Colorado Avalanche at Dallas Stars – Friday

The race for the Centra Division is tight in the early going, with just 7 points separating the top 6 teams. The Dallas Stars are sitting at #6 in that group of teams, and they could use a win here to keep in touch with the teams above them. That is going to be easier said than done against a Colorado Avalanche team rebounding from a slow start with 6 straight wins.

Florida Panthers at Washington Capitals – Friday

Impossible to ignore this one given that it is a matchup between two of the strongest teams in the Eastern Conference. The Panthers have the most points in the league right now, amassing 31 through 19 games. The Capitals have 29 points, good for 2nd in the Metropolitan Division, and have gone an impressive 7-2-1 in their last 10 games.

Edmonton Oilers at Vegas Golden Knights – Saturday

We are seeing the two Alberta teams dominate in the Pacific Division, but the Vegas Golden Knights are doing their best to keep up, sitting just off the pace being set by the Flames and Oilers. Edmonton is certainly better at home than they are on the road, so expect this to be a tough road trip into Sin City for a huge divisional game.

Winnipeg Jets at Calgary Flames – Saturday

In what you have to say is something of a surprise, the Calgary Flames are sitting atop the Pacific Division with one of the best records in the league. As good as they have been, they are just 3-1-3 on home ice this season, but you would certainly like them to improve on that against a good Jets team that is on a 4-game losing skid after a hot start.

New York Islander at New York Rangers – Sunday

These Metropolitan Division rivals may be having very different fortunes this season, but records seem to go out the window when they clash. The Rangers will be looking to keep pace with the leaders in the division, while the Islanders, who just opened a beautiful new arena, will be looking to snap out of a 7-game losing skid.

Toronto Maple Leafs at Anaheim Ducks – Sunday

The Maple Leafs will hit the road looking to extend their current run of good form, where they have gone 8-2-0 in their last 10 games, which includes their current modest 2-game win streak. They will have a tough battle on their hands, though, as the Anaheim Ducks have been tough to beat on home ice, going 7-3-1 in their own building.
