Updated Stanley Cup Odds: Colorado stays on top while the State of Florida is making moves
Current Stanley Cup Favorites
- Colorado Avalanche +440
The Avalanche once again find themselves as the odds favorite to win the Stanley Cup. They have been playing dominant hockey as of late and are 7-2-1 in their last ten games. Their 76 points on the season are good for first place in the President’s Trophy race as well as first place in the Central Division.
Forward Nazem Kadri has been a gamechanger for the Avs this season as he leads the team with 63 points from his 21 goals and 42 assists. His play is a direct result of the Avalanche goals per game average of 3.92.
At +440 odds, the Avalanche would be a solid pick to win the Stanley Cup.
- Florida Panthers +590
Florida has been red hot as of late and one of the most dominant teams at home this season. They currently hold a record of 35-10-5 has the Panthers sitting in first place in the Atlantic Division with a five-point lead over the Tampa Bay Lightning.
A major factor in the Panthers‘ success is their ability to put the puck in the net. This team is averaging a monumental 4.12 goals per game, which is good for first in the NHL. Forward Sam Reinhart has been an engine for the offense as of late as he has registered five goals in their past five games for Florida.
This consistent playing team is a solid bet to hoist the cup with +590 odds next to their name.
- Tampa Bay Lightning +710
The two-time defending Stanley Cup champions find themselves in familiar territory. They once again are a top team to look at to win this year’s cup. Just as the other Florida team, their success is due to their ability to score goals.
The Lightning are averaging 3.41 goals per game, and the play by the captain, Steven Stamkos, is a major part of that. Stamkos has tallied 23 goals on the year so far and is consistently looking to add to that total.
At +710 odds, the defending champs are a great bet to make as they go for their third cup in a row.
The next favorites are as follows:
A dark horse team to take a look at this postseason is the Calgary Flames. At +1175 odds, the Flames are a team that it wouldn’t hurt to put some money on. They currently are in first place in the Pacific Division.
They are winning games by their defensive play. They are allowing an average of 2.33 goals against per game which is good for first in the NHL. They are playing team hockey on both sides of the puck. It wouldn’t be a shocker to see the Flames make a deep run to the Stanley Cup this postseason.
