NFL In-Depth Betting Analysis of the New England Patriots’ Offense

On paper, the New England Patriots offense looks like a disaster. It doesn’t seem improved at all from last season. Going against Bill Belichick, though, has proven to be a bad move in the past. Will the Patriots offense pick it up this season? Or will New England’s offense struggle? See below for an in-depth betting analysis regarding the New England Patriots’ offense.

Patriots’ Offensive Changes During the Offseason

The Patriots’ made a couple of changes that could lead to a more dynamic offense in 2023 compared to 2022. New England signed former Steelers and Chiefs player JuJu Smith-Schuster to be their WR1 and signed Mike Gesecki away from the Dolphins to play tight-end.

Smith-Schuster and Gesecki have great experience. Both should help Mac Jones or Bailey Zappe, whichever player Bill decides will be his starting quarterback, this season.

New England Patriots Offensive Line Analysis

The offensive line doesn’t rank in the top ten, but it’s a decent unit. Cole Strange started as a rookie and like all rookies had ups and downs. If he improves, the line will jump into the top ten.

Trent Brown is solid. Michael Onwenu is one of the better guards in the league. Right guard Riley Reiff should take care of a problem that plagued the Patriots last season. Four different players combined for 150 snaps at right guard in 2022.

New England Patriots Wide Receivers Room Analysis

JuJu Smith-Schuster is as legit of a WR1 as the Patriots have had in a long time. Smith-Schuster comes to play every day. So his effort will lead to offensive success.

Devante Parker has the makings of a great WR2. LSU rookie Kayshon Boutte was a preseason all-American candidate a couple of seasons ago. Boutte fell all the way to the sixth round in April’s draft. Boutte could be a diamond in the rough.

New England has a couple of excellent tight-ends in Hunter Henry, one of the best in the NFL, and the underrated Gesecki. O’Brien will find ways to use both.

New England Patriots Running Backs Room Analysis

Rhamondre Stevenson projects as New England’s RB1. Stevenson averaged 5 yards per carry and caught 42 passes in 2022. O’Brien, for sure, will expect more from Rhamondre in 2023.

O’Brien likes the RB by committee approach. So RB2 Pierre Strong Jr. will also get carries.

New England Points Scored & Yards Per Game Range Prediction

Even if Jones or Zappe doesn’t improve much from last season, the offense will move the ball and score more points.

Last season, the Pats averaged a paltry 314.6 yards per game. Expect a massive leap in yardage per. The Patriots will also average more points than 21.4 from a season ago.

Patriots Yard Per Game Range: 345 – 365

Patriots Points Scored Range: 24 – 28

QB Mac Jones to Win MVP +6600

Analysis: O’Brien coached Mac Jones to an almost Heisman Trophy victory. O’Brien knows how to motivate the former Alabama Crimson Tide.

So although Belichick hasn’t said who the starter will be, we all know the QB1 position belongs to Mac. Under O’Brien, Jones should develop into one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL. He’s got the tools to be something special.

So although Jones is an underdog, he offers more than fair odds to win NFL MVP. If you believe, pulling the trigger on Mac to take home the award makes sense.
