2024 MLB Season

Week 19 of the Major League Baseball season.

We are entering the final 6-8 weeks of the season.

This should be a pretty fun week of action, as the teams continue to fight for postseason positioning.

Here are the top pitchers to follow for Week 19 of the Major League Baseball season:

Writer’s Pitchers Picks for MLB Week 19

Sonny Gray, St. Louis Cardinals

Monday, August 12th, 2024

If the St. Louis Cardinals are going to make a push at the National League Central and or the National League wildcard, they have got to start getting hot.

That starts with their right hander on the mound Monday.

Sonny Gray and the Cardinals are in Cincinnati on Monday.

Later in the week, the Cardinals get the Dodgers.

This is a massive stretch for St. Louis to determine if this team is going to be in the running when the end comes.

Big week for Gray.

Keep an eye on how he performs this week.

Shota Imanaga, Chicago Cubs

Monday, August 12th, 2024

The Chicago Cubs are one of the hottest teams in Major League Baseball, and are making a run at the National League wildcard.

Imanaga is the Cubs ace.

His first game this week is on the road at a tough Cleveland team.

This is a make or break stretch for the Cubs as well.

Imanaga has got to get them off to a good start.

Later in the week, the Cubs will welcome Toronto to town, a much lesser hitting baseball team.

Look for a big week from Imanaga as he gets a pair of starts against American League teams.

Chris Sale, Atlanta Braves

Monday, August 12th, 2024

Another National League team that needs to get themselves going.

The Atlanta Braves have really struggled, and much of that has to do with their inability to stay healthy.

Several of the Braves top guys are out.

But, that means Chris Sale has got to make sure he is getting the job done on the mound.

The lefthander has been one of the best pitchers in the National League.

His first start this week is at San Francisco, but against Blake Snell.

When the weekend arrives, the Braves remain on the road, and Sale should get a start at the Angels.

Clayton Kershaw, Los Angeles Dodgers

Monday, August 12th, 2024

We stay in the National League.

The veteran lefthander certainly has not come back from his injury in tip top shape.

Kershaw is 0-2 on the season with a 4.38 earned run average.

He has thrown just 12.1 innings, and struck out 11 this season.

In his three starts, he has allowed just a single home run, so they are not getting the most hard hits off him.

He will look for his first win of the season, but it is on the road at the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday.

Later in the week, Kershaw will finish his week at St. Louis against the Cardinals.

Brady Singer, Kansas City Royals

Monday, August 12th, 2024

The Royals are still in the mix in the American League.

This is a fun, talented team that could be dangerous in a playoff series.

Singer is 8-7 on the season, with a 3.03 earned run average.

The right hander has thrown 130.2 innings, and struck out 121 batters, while walking just 37.

His first start this week is at the Minnesota Twins, another team battling in the American League Central.

After the Royals leave Minnesota, they head to Cincinnati, a team that has been pretty up or down with the bats this season.

There you have it. Those are our Top pitchers to follow for Week 19 of the Major League Baseball season.

Enjoy the game and best of luck with all your betting for this week, and through the rest of the season.

MLB Pitchers to Back in Week 19

Previous Betting News

While we are at the stage of the MLB season where we really stary paying attention to the playoff standings, it’s also a good time to start thinking about which players might win the individual awards. While winning a Cy Young or an MVP is great, most players will tell you that they would sooner have a World Series ring than an individual accolade. We still have a lot of baseball to come before we get all the playoff spots and awards decided, so all we can do for now is take things day by day and week by week. With that in mind, we are going to look at the games for the next few days and pick out 4 pitchers that we believe would be a good MLB bet, either in fantasy, or for the team they play for, so let’s get to it.

MLB Top Pitchers after Week 19 of the season | MLB Lines by MyBookie

MLB Week 19: Monday August 14 – Sunday August 20, 2023

Bailey Ober

Minnesota Twins | #17
Bats: Right / Throws: Right

The Minnesota Twins have the lead in the Central Division and are now 4 ½ games up on the chasing pack. They have a series against the Detroit Tigers, who they lead by 9 games, this week and can essentially take them out of the conversation by winning the series. Tuesday night will see the Twins send Bailey Ober to the mound. This is actually the 3rd time that he will have faced the Tigers this season, including going against them in his last start. Ober took the loss in that one, but he also beat the Tigers earlier in the season, which is what I think he does on Tuesday night.

Luis Castillo

Seattle Mariners | #58
Bats: Right / Throws: Right

The Seattle Mariners are likely going to end the year with a winning season, but will that be enough to get them into the Wild Card? Things are looking rather grim at the moment, especially when you consider that they are currently enduring a 3-game losing skid. A series against the Kansas City Royals might be just what the doctor ordered, and I particularly like them on Wednesday night with Castillo on the mound. Castillo has been a little up and down, but he is coming off a great performance last time out, plus Seattle has won in each of his last 3 starts.

Tarik Skubal

Detroit Tigers | #29
Bats: Right / Throws: Left

It’s pretty slim pickings on Thursday, as we have a rather quiet MLB schedule going on. There are a couple of pitchers that I like here, though, and I am opting to ride with Skubal of the Detroit Tigers. He has only made 7 starts this season, but he seems to be settling down after a rough start that saw the Tigers lose in each of his first 3 starts of the year. He followed up a stellar performance against the Rays with a loss last time out against the Red Sox, but I like him to bounce back on Thursday against Cleveland.

Spencer Strider

Atlanta Braves | #99
Bats: Right / Throws: Right

The Atlanta Braves are definitely headed to the playoffs and look like one of the favorites to end the year with a championship win. They look like a team with very few weaknesses, so they are going to be tough to beat. The pitching has been great, with Spencer Strider in parti looking strong. He has gone 13-4 to this point in the season, although he has been a little up and down of late. That said, his last outing was a gem, giving up 0 ER in 7 full innings. Look for another big performance on Friday.
