Odds on teams to win the NBA Finals don’t change much from week-to-week. However, the odds do change enough to where it makes sense to come up with a favorite, a smart, and a longshot play every week. In this case, the favorite remains the Boston Celtics. But after week 10, our smart and longshot plays are new. See below for updated NBA Championship Odds after Christmas Day games as well as the favorite, smart, and longshot picks for the week.

Favorite: Boston Celtics +360
The Cs offer higher odds to win the title than they have in a while. Boston played a great game versus the Milwaukee Bucks on Christmas Day.
Boston beat the Bucks 139-118. But before getting too excited, it’s important to note that Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum combined for 77 of the 139 points. Also, Khris Middleton didn’t step onto the court.
Still, if you liked the Celtics at +310 then you should love them at +360. So go for it if you believe.
Smart: Denver Nuggets +1400
If you don’t believe, and it’s probably still too early to believe, then consider putting a few dollars on the Nuggets. The Nuggets beat the Suns 128-125 to grab the Western Conference’s top spot.
As of Dec. 27, Denver has a 2 games lead over Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans. Nuggets star Nikola Jokic has played lights out.
But the key has been Jamal Murray. Denver followed up a victory over the Suns with a nice 113-106 win against the Kings.
For sure, Denver is an overlay at +1400. Nikola has won two straight MVPs. This season, he’s got enough talent around him to win rings.
Longshot: Miami Heat +4200
At the time of this writing, Miami is 6-4 straight up in their last 10. That along makes them a solid longshot play at the odds.
Lest we forget, the Heat fell to LeBron and the Lakers at the 2020 NBA Bubble Finals in Orlando. Then last season, Miami was a play away from beating Boston and making it to the 2022 NBA Championship series.
The Heat have yet to hit their stride. Injuries have kept Miami from fulfilling their potential. If everyone can get healthy, the Heat could get on a roll. If you believe the roll happens, jump on Jimmy B. and his mates at the healthy +4200 odds.
