Updated NFC Championship Odds this Season

The NFC race is heating up as the season progresses, with the Detroit Lions emerging as the top contender.

Meanwhile, other teams like the 49ers and Eagles are pushing to secure their playoff spots.

Below are the latest NFC Championship odds and insights into how each team stands going forward.

Writer’s Key Insights on Updated Odds

Lions Lead the Pack

The Detroit Lions are the current favorites at +310, boasting a 96% chance to make the NFL Playoffs.

Their dominant performances make them a clear contender, with a well-rounded offense and defense.

A recent blowout win over the Titans solidified their place as the NFC’s team to beat.

49ers and Eagles in Contention

The 49ers are at +430, still recovering from some early-season losses.

With Christian McCaffrey expected to return soon, San Francisco could gain momentum after their bye.

The Eagles, sitting at +610, are in a tough battle within the NFC East.

They’ve shown flashes of greatness but need consistency on both sides of the ball.

Packers and Vikings Gaining Ground

Green Bay, with odds of +710, has an 81% chance to reach the playoffs, thanks to solid play from both Jordan Love and the defense.

The Vikings (+920) remain competitive, with a 69% chance of making the postseason.

They’ll need to recover quickly from their recent loss to stay in the race.

Commanders Closing the Gap

At +1275, the Washington Commanders have taken advantage of a few key wins to rise in the playoff race.

A narrow victory over the Bears gave them an 85% chance of postseason play, narrowly edging out the Eagles in the NFC East.

Seahawks and Cowboys Struggling for Form

The Seahawks and Cowboys, both with odds around +2700 and +2800, respectively, need to find their groove soon.

Seattle faces a tough NFC West battle, while Dallas has struggled on the road and with injuries to key players like Micah Parsons.

Falcons Positioned for NFC South Control

The Atlanta Falcons are in prime position to control the NFC South, sitting at +1275 to win the conference.

With two key wins against the Buccaneers already this season, Atlanta has a favorable path to the postseason.

Their ability to lean on a balanced offense and a growing defense makes them a sleeper pick in the NFC race.

Bears Falling from Early Playoff Hopefuls

After starting the NFL season with playoff aspirations, the Bears’ odds have plummeted to +2600.

Their recent Hail Mary loss to the Commanders has them sitting at just 27% to make the playoffs.

Chicago will need a miracle to turn things around, especially with key divisional games ahead.

Updated NFC Championship Final Thoughts

The NFC Championship race looks like it will be a tight one, especially in the NFC East and NFC North.

The Lions, 49ers, and Eagles appear to be the strongest contenders, but the Packers and Vikings could also make noise down the stretch.

As the season progresses, expect these odds to shift, especially with key matchups on the horizon.

NFC Championship Game Lines: Who Will Battle for Glory Based on Early Odds?

Previous Betting News

The NFL season is still on the horizon, but championship dreams are already brewing! Let’s gaze into the crystal ball and analyze the NFC Championship game line to see which potential contenders might be battling for glory come playoff time.

The draft is over. The mini camps will be underway soon. The training camps will start later on this summer, and before you know it, it will be time for the season to get underway. That means it is a good time to start looking at updated betting odds to win each of the conferences.

First, let’s take a look at the most recent, updated NFC Championship odds:

Updated NFC Championship Odds | MyBookie Football Betting Preview of the National Football Conference Season

2024 NFL Season | 105th season of the National Football League
Regular Season: September 5th, 2023 – January 5th, 2024

San Francisco 49ers +250

The San Francisco 49ers reached the Super Bowl, and lost. The 49ers had all the chances to win the game over Kansas City, and the stars did not align. Now Brock Purdy and his crew will run it back, with a year of experience under their belts. The 49ers are going to be talented again. They have great offensive pieces.

They have a line on both sides of the football that can wreck games. Christian McCaffrey is a massive weapon, and he continues to produce for the 49ers. They are the big favorites to win the NFC at +250. There are a bunch of things that still need to go right for the 49ers, but putting them as big favorites is the right choice. This is the most well rounded team in the NFC.

San Francisco 49ers | NFC Pick

Detroit Lions +550

There was no bigger team story in 2023 than the Detroit Lions. Dan Campbell got his team to the NFC title game. If things go a little different in that game, the Lions head to the Super Bowl. Jared Goff looked good, and was under control. The defense was outstanding, and the Lions skill players can be matched up against any others in the league.

Now, the Lions task will be to repeat that, and add to it? Can Campbell get this group to the next level? Regardless of that answer, the excitement is there for Detroit. The Lions will be the favorites out of the NFC North, ahead of the Packers and the Bears.

Philadelphia Eagles +700

Jalen Hurts comes into the season with a massive chip on his shoulders. The Eagles signal caller brought his team to the Super Bowl in 2022. Then, in 2023, the walls crumbled for the Philadelphia Eagles. Head Coach Nick Siriani is going to be in hot water if things do not start out well for Philadelphia.

The Eagles still have a boatload of talent. They will compete with Dallas at the top of the NFC East. Can the Eagles regain some of that 2022 magic or will the team show that the 2023 second half of the season are the team’s true colors?

Philadelphia Eagles | NFC Pick

Dallas Cowboys +700

Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys start every season with big time pressure on them. This year is no exception. Many are wondering how long the Cowboys will continue to run it back. The Cowboys fell short of expectations a season ago despite winning the division. Dallas won the NFC East mainly due to the Eagles inability to win down the stretch of the season. CeeDee Lamb put together a massive 2024 season, and expectations are high for him this season as well. Dallas comes into the season at 7/1 odds to win the NFC.

Green Bay Packers +800

The youngest team in the National Football League reached the postseason a season ago. The Packers loved what they saw out of their first year starter under center. Now, the Packers have some expectations, and made a few changes. Aaron Jones is no longer going to be the lead running back.

The Packers added Josh Jacobs, and they are hoping he has a few more healthy years left in his tank. The defense got a year older, and in their hopes maybe a year more seasoned and ready to take the jump. Green Bay is the runner up out of the NFC North, but they better be careful as Chicago is lurking at third place.

Green Bay Packers | NFC Pick

Atlanta Falcons +1100

The Falcons are 11/1 odds to win the NFC. They added Kirk Cousins, and he has some weapons, but the addition of Michael Penix Jr was a head scratching. It irritated Cousins in the first month of his time in Atlanta. The Falcons have a benefit of playing in the NFC South, where someone has to win the division.

The Falcons are the favorites over Tampa Bay, New Orleans and Carolina. Can the Falcons put together a legitimate offensive threat and take advantage of how good Bijan Robinson can be? That is what we will be looking to answer when the season gets going.

Atlanta Falcons | NFC Pick

NFC Odds: +1100 | Betting NFC Championship Lines MyBookie’s Lines for the Tournament

Chicago Bears +1400

The hype is all over for this Chicago Bears team. The Bears got rid of Justin Fields, and Caleb Williams is taking over as the signal caller in Chicago. The Bears added D’Andre Swift to the mix as  the leading running back, while Keenan Allen is now in Chicago as a top receiver. This Chicago team is certainly going to look different on the offensive side.

Can they defend like they need to? The Bears are going to be sitting behind two other teams in their own division, so things will not come easy, but all eyes will be on the Windy City as the 2024 season starts.

Others in NFC:

  • Los Angeles Rams +1600
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers +3500
  • Seattle Seahawks +3500
  • Minnesota Vikings +3500
  • New Orleans Saints +4000
  • Arizona Cardinals +5000
  • Washington Commanders +6000
  • New York Giants +6000
  • Carolina Panthers +13000

NFC Championship Odds Analysis

Are the Detroit Lions an Overlay or Underlay at Their Current Odds?

The Detroit Lions have a much better shot of beating the San Francisco 49ers straight up than the +240 indicate. The reason why is because Dan Campbell is a master at creating a strategy against Detroit’s opponent.

The Lions played a bend but don’t break defense against the Rams. It worked to perfection because the Rams had to settle for field goals in three red zone trips.

Then against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Lions were more aggressive on defense. Again, it worked because Baker Mayfield threw a couple of interceptions, including a late interception that ended the Buccaneers’ rally.

On offense, Jared Goff is playing excellent football. Goff hasn’t made a mistake yet during the playoffs. The Lions rushing attack is going to find holes in a San Francisco defense that hasn’t looked as good as advertised in recent games.

Lions Odds Analysis: Overlay | AFC Odds to Win Championship
MyBookie Betting Lines for the Game

Are the San Francisco 49ers an Overlay or Underlay at Their Current Odds?

San Francisco shouldn’t be anywhere close toa 3-to-1 favorite over the Detroit Lions. The 49rs should win the game, but it’s going to be a struggle.

The Niners defense gave up a couple of TD passes from Jordan Love and over 100 yards rushing to Aaron Jones. The Lions run a similar offensive scheme as Green Bay except Detroit has more weapons, including underrated receiver Amon-RA St. Brown and rookie tight end Sam LaPorta, who is already one of the best TEs in the NFL.

The 49ers offense should be difficult to stop. Detroit head coach Dan Campbell is likely to play a bend but don’t break scheme, like the one the Lions rean versus the Rams, against the 49ers. The moneyline odds make the Niners an underlay.

NFL NFC Championship Picks

Top Pick: San Francisco 49ers -180

Although San Francisco lists plenty of starters, Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle, Dre Greenlaw, Tashaun Gipson, etcetera, as questionable, it’s difficult seeing the chalk losing the NFC title.

When SF is on, there are few teams, AFC Baltimore is the only one that can hang. Brock Purdy is one hundred percent healthy and so is Deebo Samuel. That will be enough for Kyle Shanahan to work with as the Niners start their quest for the Lombardi.

NFC Championship Pick: San Francisco 49ers -180 | NFC Odds to Win Championship
MyBookie Betting Lines for the Game

Second Pick: Green Bay Packers +950

The team that looks best poised to upset the 49ers plays San Francisco this weekend. The Green Bay Packers made mincemeat of what supposed be one of the top defenses in the NFL.

Green Bay dropped 42 onto the Dallas Cowboys. The Boys struggled to stop the rush, which allowed Jordan Love to use play action and throw the ball downfield to Romeo Doubs. If Christian Watson plays, the Packers offense will be even more electric this weekend against the Niners.

If SF isn’t at the top of their game, Green Bay can pull off the upset victory. Give the Packers a big chance if San Francisco’s questionable injuries turn into doubtful injuries.

NFC Championship Pick: Green Bay Packers +950 | NFC Odds to Win Championship

Third Pick: Tampa Bay Buccaneers +1000

It’s not that Baker Mayfield led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a victory over the Philadelphia Eagles, it’s how Baker and the Bucs won. Tampa dethroned the 2022-2023 NFC Champions via a stingy defense and a solid offense.

Tampa played their best game of the season. It was as scripted, which makes the Buccaneers a solid pick to beat the Lions in Detroit this weekend.

NFC Championship Pick: Tampa Bay Buccaneers +1000 | NFC Odds to Win Championship
MyBookie Betting Lines for the Game

Fourth Pick: Detroit Lions +310

It’s tough not to like the Lions after watching how they beat the Los Angeles Rams. The issue is that the win was as emotional as it gets. Sustaining such emotion against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which beat the Eagles in workmanlike fashion, won’t be easy.

Detroit could bounce this weekend versus Baker and the Bucs, which makes the Lions the worst play on the board to win the NFC. Even if the Lions do beat the Buccaneers, they will face a hot Green Bay side or the 49ers on the road.

In Depth Analysis On the Updated Odds to Win the 2022 NFC

Wild Card Weekend is just a few days away, which means it’s time to start thinking about where your betting money might be going in the postseason. While some bettors love the action of every single game, others prefer the bigger picture, placing wagers on the outcome of both conferences. We have already taken a peek at the betting odds in the AFC, and now it’s time to do the same for the NFC. There ae 6 teams left in the hunt for Super Bowl, but how many actually have a legitimate shot?

Atlanta Falcons (+330)

The Falcons have proven to be something of a surprise package this season, as it was just assumed that the Carolina Panthers would win the NFC South again. Atlanta Falcons won the division comfortably, and also landed the #2 seed in the NFC courtesy of a great offense and an MVP-caliber season from QB Matt Ryan. They are still a team with some question marks, though, particularly on the defensive side of the football.

Dallas Cowboys (+110)

When Tony Romo went down with a major injury before the season even began, there were a lot of football fans who believed that the Cowboys couldn’t compete with rookies at the QB and RB position. They were proven to be very wrong, and Prescott and Elliott tore up the NFC, with a little help from a very good defensive unit. It’s going to be interesting to see how these young men handle the added pressure of the playoffs, especially as the conference favorites.

Detroit Lions (+2300)

No matter what happens from this point forward, this has been a good season for the Lions. The regular season did not finish well, and they ended up backing into the postseason, but Matthew Stafford and company have gone beyond what anyone expected from them this year. They will have to head into Seattle this weekend, which is never an easy trip, but they will be going against a Seahawks team that has not been particularly convincing over the past couple of weeks.

Green Bay Packers (+300)

Like the Steelers on the AFC side of the draw, the Packers are a team that no-one wants to face. With 6 games to go in the season, the Packers were in trouble, and then QB Aaron Rodgers came out and said that they were going to “run the table,” which is exactly what they did. A team getting hot at just the right time can be a nightmare to face in the playoffs, and having to go into Lambeau in the Wild Card Weekend makes things even worse.

New York Giants (+1000)

This is a team that no-one is really paying any attention to heading into the postseason. The assumption is that they will fall at the first hurdle when they head to Lambeau Field this weekend, but you can bet that the Packers are not taking this group lightly. After all, this is the team that managed to beat the Dallas Cowboys twice this season, which would almost certainly lead to some mind games if they were to hook up again in the playoffs.

Seattle Seahawks (+380)

The Seahawks have had a bit of a rollercoaster season, although it has to be said that they have been affected by injuries. When this team is healthy, they are incredibly hard to beat, especially at home. When they lose a player or two, their balance seems to be thrown out of whack, and things seem more difficult than they need to be. Still a threat in the postseason, but it would also not be stunning to see them stumble against the Lions this weekend given how things have gone over the past couple of weeks.

2022 NFL Betting Projections for NFC Conference Winners

Previous Betting News

The NFC playoff field appears to be strong, and the playoff field is starting to take shape. As the favorite to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl, the Philadelphia Eagles appear to be a certainty for the top seed in the playoffs.

The San Francisco 49ers have established themselves as a formidable opponent in the NFC, while the Minnesota Vikings have secured the NFC North and are continuing to display their tenacity. Not to be overlooked is the return of “America’s Team,” the Dallas Cowboys.

To help you place wagers on the NFC Conference Championship Odds, let’s examine the NFC playoff field and predict where each club will finish.

2022 NFL Betting Projections for NFC Conference Winners

Philadelphia Eagles 13-2 (+175)

With young quarterback Jalen Hurts and the formidable tandem of A.J. Brown and De’Vonta Smith, Philadelphia has many reasons to be optimistic for a deep playoff run. The Philadelphia defense, which has the second-most takeaways (26) in the league, is just as essential as the passing attack and the fourth-best ground game in football.

San Francisco 49ers 11-4 (+250)

Jimmy Garoppolo’s comeback to the starting lineup had the San Francisco 49ers in the first place prior to his season-ending injury. Coach Kyle Shanahan will now rely on the NFL’s number one defense and Mr. Irrelevant, Brock Purdy, to do well in the playoffs against legitimate contenders.

Dallas Cowboys 11-4 (+500)

The Cowboys have plenty of offensive weapons to compete with any opponent and one of the NFL’s top defenders in Micah Parsons. Due to their league-leading 30 takeaways and nearly 29 points per game, they have the potential to cause significant damage when the playoffs begin.

Minnesota Vikings 12-3 (+1000)

A postseason spot has already been secured by the Minnesota Vikings, who also ousted the Green Bay Packers as NFC North champions. The focus of this narrative has been the Vikings’ dramatic upswing throughout their first 15 games under new coach Kevin O’Connell.

Despite having a strong offense, the Vikings’ poor defense has NFL fans concerned about how far they can advance in the postseason despite their success thus far.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 6-8 (+1200)

Can Tom Brady overcome his age and the Bucs struggle in arguably the worst division in the NFL? Brady really only needs to be at his best during the playoffs, so I’m not quite ready to give up on the 2021 Super Bowl Champs. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be present and contending to the bitter end.

Green Bay Packers 7-8 (+2500)

After starting the year 4-8, Aaron Rodgers and the Packers have started to catch fire, winning three straight contests. No one wants to play in Green Bay against an offense that is finally starting to click. The defense has also stepped it up, forcing eight turnovers over their three-game winning streak.

New York Giants (+3500)

Brian Daboll has completely turned the New York Giants around, doubling their win total last year. The Giants have their best record since 2016, all thanks to solid football on both sides of the ball. Injuries have slowed New York down, but they have the potential to surprise some teams with a playoff run.

Washington Commanders (+4000)

While the Commanders lack a true threat at the quarterback position, they continue to find a way to win. Washington handed the Eagles their first loss and had the playmakers with Brian Robinson Jr. and Terry McLaurin to scare opponents in the playoffs. If their defense gets healthy, watch out for the Commanders.

NFL 2021-22 NFC Conference Championship Odds: Winners Betting Predictions

Previous Betting News

The NFC looks to have a loaded playoff field. The Green Bay Packers are the #1 seed in the playoffs and are the favorite to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. Tom Brady is still in the NFC, and Sean McVay and the Rams have proven to be a tough team to beat in the NFC. We also can’t forget “America’s Team” the Dallas Cowboys are back in the mix. Let’s take a look at the NFC playoff field and see where we think each team will end up so you can place your bets against the NFC Conference Championship Odds.

NFL 2021-22 NFC Conference Championship Odds: Winners Betting Predictions

Green Bay +170

The Packers have Aaron Rodgers, and he is one of the best players of this generation. Rodgers has proven that he can win with very little talent. He has a good running game, his offensive line is finally getting healthy, and he has a stud receiver in Davante Adams. If the Green Bay defense can limit its mistakes, the Packers will be in the Super Bowl, and we think that they’ll be in Los Angeles at the big game.

Tampa Bay +340

Tom Brady continues to defy Father Time. Tampa Bay will need its running game to step things up in the postseason, as Brady has lost two of his top three receivers over the last few weeks. Tampa Bay has a very strong defense, but we’re not sure that the defense can carry them to a title.

Los Angeles Rams +450

Sean McVay has proven to be a winner, and he finally has a quarterback that is supposed to be the missing ingredient. Unfortunately, Matthew Stafford has shown a penchant for throwing bad interceptions at crucial times. If he can avoid the mistakes, the Rams have a great shot at winning the NFC. They have a very good defense with star players that know how to win. They’ll play the Packers in the NFC title game, but they won’t be able to stop Rodgers.

Dallas Cowboys +600

While the Cowboys have made strides this season, missing Michael Gallup will be huge for them. Dallas has struggled to run the ball, and that could come back to haunt them. They’ll play a San Francisco team that loves to run the ball and will keep the Cowboys’ offense off of the field. Dallas doesn’t get past the Niners.

Arizona Cardinals +900

While the Cardinals were a great story at 9-0, between injuries and some costly mistakes, the Cardinals have come back to Earth. We’re not sure that Kliff Kingsbury is ready for prime time, and the Cardinals defense that surprised people early on has gotten worse throughout the season. They won’t have enough to outlast the Rams.

San Francisco 49ers +1000

Jimmy Garoppolo has been the scapegoat for most of the 49ers losses this season. He won a huge game against the Rams in the season finale to get the Niners into the playoffs. Their running game will outlast the Cowboys, but we’re not sure that they go any farther than that.

Philadelphia Eagles +2500

While the Eagles exceeded all expectations for the season, their season will end when they play Tampa Bay.

NFL Betting Update: Odds to Win the NFC Conference Championship

2023 NFL NFC Championship

When: Sunday, Jan. 29 at TBD
Where: TBD

Updated NFC Championship Odds

Top Pick: San Francisco 49ers +216

The San Francisco 49ers head to week 18 winners of 9 straight. During the streak, SF beat Tom Brady and the Buccaneers 35-7 and dusted the Chargers 22-16.

What’s incredible is that for most of the streak, Mr. Irrelevant, the last player chosen in the 2022 NFL Draft, has played quarterback. Brock Purdy has thrown for 1,196 yards when completing 66% of his passes, 10 TDs, and just 4 interceptions in 150 attempts.

Purdy is playing lights out. Couple Brock’s play with the best defense in the NFL and we get our NFC winner.

Second Pick: Philadelphia Eagles +199

In their last couple of games, the Eagles have struggled. Dallas outlasted Philly in a 40-34 Cowboys win. Then in week 17, the Saints beat the Eagles 20-10.

Philadelphia remains one of the top teams in the NFL. Not only that, but Jalen Hurts returns to the starting lineup in week 17. As long as Hurts is healthy, Philadelphia will be a top contender to win the conference.

Third Pick: Dallas Cowboys +430

Dallas offers much better odds than Philadelphia and San Francisco. On paper, the Boys should be right there at the end, ready to beat their rivals.

But the Cowboys have a flaw that some defenses will exploit. Starting quarterback Dak Prescott has thrown 14 interceptions this season, tying Dak for thirtieth in the league.

14 picks is not good. A single interception in a playoff game can lead to a loss. So unless Dak is much more careful with the ball, the Boys will struggle against an Eagles squad with a healthy Hurts and struggle against the 49ers.

Top Underdog Pick: Green Bay Packers +1375

On Sunday afternoon, Green Bay and Detroit throw down in what amounts to a playoff elimination contest. The Packers have the edge in the matchup because the game happens at Lambeau.

Right now, Green Bay is the top underdog play to win the NFC. The offense broke through against the Minnesota Vikings in week 17 with 41 points. The defense held the Vikings to 17.

The Pack might be peaking at the perfect moment. Green Bay will be a difficult out should Aaron Rodgers and his mates beat the Lions and secure a playoff spot.

The NFC is loaded this season, and the favorites all have one thing in common, they all have a Pro Bowl quarterback leading the way. Let’s take a look at the favorites to win the NFC and move on to the Super Bowl at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. That being said, let jump right into action so you can continue making your bets against the NFC Division odds.

Betting Projections for NFC Conference Winners

Tampa Bay Buccaneers +240

The defending Super Bowl champions are once again the favorites to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. Everyone knows Tom Brady’s pedigree and knows that he is a winner. Brady has a plethora of offensive weapons, an offensive line that doesn’t give up many sacks, and an offensive-minded head coach. The defense isn’t playing at the level that it did last season, but if they can hold up their end, there could be another celebration in Tampa.

Green Bay Packers +325

The Green Bay Packers are sitting on top of the NFC North standings. Even though he doesn’t have as many weapons as Brady does in Tampa Bay, Aaron Rodgers still finds ways to win football games. In the past, the Packers haven’t had a defense to back Rodgers up. That isn’t the case this season, as the Green Bay defense is playing at a high level. They’ve given up the fourth-fewest points in the league this season. With an offense that is playing well, combined with a top defense, this could be a recipe for another Super Bowl title for the Green Bay Packers.

Arizona Cardinals +400

The Cardinals are the surprise team of the league this season. Kliff Kingsbury has put together a squad that is finally good on both sides of the ball. Many thought that the Cardinals would be able to score a ton of points, but they’d also give up a lot as well. That hasn’t been the case, as the Arizona defense has allowed the third-fewest points in the league this season. If Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins can stay healthy, the Cardinals should make a long playoff run.

Los Angeles Rams +550

When the Rams brought in Matthew Stafford, many football experts said that it was “Super Bowl or Bust” for the Rams this season. Sean McVay finally has the quarterback that he has wanted since taking over the Rams. Injuries have been an issue this season for the Rams, but if they can overcome the injury issues, they’ll have a great shot at winning the NFC.

Dallas Cowboys +600

The Cowboys seem to be following the theme of the NFC. A very good offense, but a questionable defense. Well, in the case of the Cowboys, the defense has stepped it up, while the offense hasn’t been as good as expected. If Dallas can get everything going at the same time, “America’s Team” could find themselves back in the big game in February.

NFL Playoffs Betting Predictions: NFC Championship Odds Update

Previous Betting News

3 of the 4 top seeds in the National Football Conference made it to the NFL Divisional Round. The Green Bay Packers got the bye. So they didn’t have to play. But the Buccaneers and Rams had to win wild card contests. The Bucs beat the Eagles and the Rams beat the Cardinals. The one underdog who prevailed, the San Francisco 49ers, notched their division round ticket after beating the Cowboys. With the NFC’s final four set, it makes sense for us to reassess NFC Championship odds.

Betting Projections for NFC Conference Winners After Wild Card Matches

2022 NFC Championship

When: Sunday, Jan. 30 at 6:30 pm ET

NFC Championship Odds to Win

Is the longest shot on the board, the San Francisco 49ers, worth a look to win the NFC Championship?

Anybody hoping to score a profit on NFC Championship futures must take the Niners seriously. San Francisco made it to the 2020 Super Bowl, falling to the Chiefs after blowing a 9-point fourth-quarter lead.

The 49ers have a fantastic, and healthy, defense. When Jimmy Garoppolo is on, he’s one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL.

So, yes, the San Francisco 49ers are worth a look. But being worth a look doesn’t mean a team is worth backing. SF suffered some potential game-changing injuries in the 23-17 win over the Cowboys.

The most significant is Jimmy Garoppolo’s sprained shoulder and Nick Bosa’s concussion. If the SF starting quarterback isn’t one-hundred percent, he tends to overcompensate, sailing passes above his receivers’ heads.

Bosa is one of the most important cogs in the 49ers’ defense, which is why San Francisco is a play against to win the NFC. If Jimmy G. and Bosa were one-hundred percent, we’d say consider. With both hurt, +490 makes San Francisco an underlay.

Do Tom Brady and the Bucs or Matthew Stafford and the Rams offer overlay or underlay odds?

Let’s start with the Rams. Los Angeles looked like a Super Bowl contender in the 34-11 beating they handed NFC West rival Arizona this past Monday night.

But before jumping all over the Rams, a deep dive reveals Arizona beat itself. The Cardinals had entered the game losers of 4-of-5. It was apparent from the outset that Kyler Murray and the rest were nervous.

Murray made bad decisions after bad decisions. His throws were off the mark. The defense looked timid. So it’s hard to say if the Rams won that game or if the Cardinals handed it to them.

Brady and the Bucs were magnificent. The Philadelphia Eagles have one of the top rushing attacks in the NFL. All Tampa did was hold the Eagles to 95 rushing yards with 34 of those yards coming on a single carry.

The offense, as we might expect, was clicking like crazy, which is why Tampa is an overlay and the Rams aren’t. As good as Los Angeles’ defensive line is, Aaron Donald and his mates can’t cover up issues in the Rams’ secondary.

Tom Brady should have no trouble carving up Inglewood. If the Rams decide to blitz, it’s over. Brady knows where to throw the ball before the snap, meaning he’ll have already beaten the blitz before the ball lands in his hands.

The Buccaneers should knock out the Rams on Sunday. Tampa, as long as the defense remains healthy, can beat the Packers or 49ers. So Brady and his mates are the overlay.

Is Green Bay worth backing at +130 to won the conference?

Home field means something. Beating Green Bay at Lambeau is almost impossible to accomplish.

But before we can anoint the Packers, we should take a long, hard look at whether Green Bay lucked into home field. The Packers‘ defense didn’t play well down the stretch.

Green Bay allowed 28 or more points in 5-of-7. Cleveland had a shot to beat the Packers in a 24-22 victory. The Packers almost lost to the Ravens even though Lamar Jackson didn’t play and Green Bay had to rally against the Bears in a 45-30 win.

The Packers won’t outscore the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They might outscore the Rams, like they did in a 36-28 victory, but they won’t outscore the Bucs.

Also, if it comes down to Green Bay versus Tampa, forget it. The Bucs are the play because home field is meaningless since Tom Brady plays as well in the cold as he does in the heat. At the odds, Green Bay is a play against.

NFC Championship Odds After Draft

Previous Betting News

While the San Francisco 49ers ended up on the losing end of things is last season’s Super Bowl, you could certainly argue that the NFC was the stronger of the two conferences in the regular season. Realistically, all 6 teams that made it into the playoffs in the NFC had a shot at going all the way, and when you look at what teams have done in the offseason this far, it could prove to be more of the same this coming season. The draft is now done, and most of the big free agent moves have taken place, so we have a good idea of how teams will line up this season. Let’s take a look at the current odds to win the NFC Championship.

NFC Championship Odds After Draft

San Francisco 49ers

Odds to Win the NFC Championship: +400

Given that the 49ers made it all the way to the Super Bowl last season, it is more than reasonable to assume that they would be a good bet again this season. There are, though, some signs that all may not be well down by the bay. The San Francisco 49ers made it known that they were in the race to land Tom Brady, which is not great news for Jimmy Garoppolo. How is he going to react to the news that his team was shopping for another QB? The 49ers basically replaced the players they lost in free agency via the draft, so they should be ready to go again this season.

New Orleans Saints

Odds to Win the NFC Championship: +500

Even before the draft began, the New Orleans Saints received good news when Drew Brees announced that he would be returning. Retirement was on the table, but with Brees back in the fold, the window to win a Super Bowl remains wide open. This is, from top to bottom, one of the most complete teams in the NFL, and there is no reason to think they won’t be challenging for the NFC again this season. The Saints did not have a lot of picks in the draft, but they used what they had to add some depth.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Odds to Win the NFC Championship: +550

No team made a bigger move up the betting board than the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They moved in among the favorites to win the NFC the moment they went out and landed Tom Brady as their QB for the next couple of seasons. The fact that they also picked up Rob Gronkowski in a trade before the draft is just icing on the cake. The Buccaneers also had a solid draft, adding weapons and protection on the line. This looks like a team going all in to win the Super Bowl.

Green Bay Packers

Odds to Win the NFC Championship: +900

The rumors of discontent between Aaron Rodgers and new head coach Matt LaFleur started pretty early last season and they have failed to let up. While the Green Bay Packers remain adamant that Rodgers is their man, the fact that they traded up to get QB Jordan Love in the first round of the draft would seem to suggest otherwise. This is a team that won 13 games last season and went to the NFC Championship Game, so there is reason to believe that they can put the bad stuff aside and win.

Dallas Cowboys

Odds to Win the NFC Championship: +1000

It is going to be the start of a new era for the Dallas Cowboys this coming season, with new head coach Mike McCarthy set to take the reins. If the 2020 draft is anything to go by, the Cowboys look ready to take a serious run at the postseason and potentially the Super Bowl. They have plenty of weapons in the roster, but they have underwhelmed the last couple of seasons. Still worth a look, though.

2017 NFL Odds & Expert Projections to win the NFC

With Week 13 of the 2017 NFL regular season set to get underway in just over 72 hours and four more weeks of action set to follow, bettors across the globe want and need to know the NFL odds and what are the Straight-Up and ATS projections for each possible NFC winner. Thanks to the latest odds to win the NFC and the knowledge that you’re about to get in this expert analysis, you’re going to have a great idea of what to expect down the stretch run portion of the regular season.

Philadelphia Eagles (10-1 SU, 9-2 ATS)

NFL Odds to win the NFC: +160

The Eagles are sitting pretty on top of the NFC Standings as the only one-loss team in the NFL, but they probably shouldn’t get too comfortable with Minnesota just one game back and the Rams, Saints, and Panthers all two games behind the high-flying Birds.

While the Eagles have a tough matchup at Seattle this weekend and at the Rams in Week 14, they’ve got a trio of winnable games at the Giants in Week 15 and at home against Oakland and Dallas in the final two weeks of the season. Right now, I’m thinking 13-3 SU and 12-4 ATS look like near certainties.

Minnesota Vikings (9-2 SU, 8-3 ATS)

NFL Odds to win the NFC: +380

Like Philadelphia, Minnesota has a pair of difficult matchups this weekend at Atlanta and in Week 14 at Carolina. However, after those two games, the Vikings finish up with a home date against Cincinnati, at Green Bay and at home against lowly Chicago.

Three more wins both, SU and ATS would leave the Vikes one behind Philly come playoff time at 12-4 SU and 11-5 ATS. However, I’d be remiss in not reminding everyone of the fact that Aaron Rodgers could be ready to go in Week 16 at home against a Vikings team he probably wants payback against, seeing as how they’re the same opponent he broke his collarbone against earlier this season.

L.A. Rams (8-3 SU, 7-4 ATS)

NFL Odds to win the NFC: +500

Like everyone else, I’m super impressed with the season the Rams have had this year. After facing Arizona this coming weekend in what looks like a winnable road affair against the banged-up Cards, L.A. has a pair of tough dates at home against Philly and on the road at Seattle. The Rams then finish up at Tennessee in what looks like another tough task before closing out the season at home with a win against Frisco.

I like the Rams to win at least two more games at the minimum (Arizona, San Francisco) and possibly three (Tennessee) to finish at 11-5 SU, although I wouldn’t necessarily be surprised if they beat either Philadelphia or Seattle. I’m going with the Rams to finish 11-5 SU and an identical 11-5 ATS while winning the NFC West to reach the playoffs.

New Orleans Saints (8-3 SU, 7-4 ATS)

NFL Odds to win the NFC: +500

The Saints have three difficult division matchups remaining and two very winnable games at home against the Jets in Week 15 and at Tampa Bay in Week 17. I’ve also got New Orleans winning at home against Carolina on Sunday and splitting against the Falcons in Weeks 14 and 16. Right now, I’m thinking 11-5 SU and 10-6 ATS sound about right for Drew Brees and company!

Carolina Panthers (8-3 SU, 7-4 ATS)

NFL Odds to win the NFC: +800

I’ve got Carolina lost at New Orleans this weekend before squeaking past Minnesota in Week 14 and beating both, Green Bay and Tampa Bay the following two weeks before finishing with a road loss at Atlanta in Week 17. Right now, 11-5 SU and ATS look about right for Cam Newton and company, although I will say I could see them losing against Minnesota at home in Week 14 to finish with 10 wins.

Seattle Seahawks (7-4 SU, 4-6-1 ATS)

NFL Odds to win the NFC: +600

The Seahawks are just one game behind the Rams in the NFC West and they could potentially end up tied with L.A. for the division title. However, I don’t see them beating Philadelphia at home this coming weekend and I think it’s quite possible they could also fall to the Rams at home in their huge Week 15 divisional showdown.

Outside of that, I like Russell Wilson and company to beat Jacksonville on the road in Week 14 (I think) before closing out the season with a road win in Dallas and a home victory over Arizona. 10-5 looks good to me, but it could be an 11-5 finish for Seattle if they beat either the Eagles or Rams. Seattle is ranked 10th in scoring and ninth in points allowed, so they’re not exactly chopped liver and could surprise come playoff time – although I really don’t see it happening!

Atlanta Falcons (7-4 SU, 5-6 ATS)

NFL Odds to win the NFC: +580

The Falcons host Minnesota this weekend (loss) and then the New Orleans (a narrow win) before going on the road to beat Tampa Bay in Week 15 and then losing at New Orleans in Week 16 before squeaking past Carolina in their regular-season finale.

I’ve got Matt Ryan and company finishing at 10-5 SU and 8-8 ATS, although I must admit that it’s quite possible they lose both games against the Saints and their finale against Carolina to finish at 9-7.

No matter how many wins they finish with, there’s clearly something off about the Falcons to me this season that will keep them from beating the likes of the Eagles, Vikings or Rams should they reach the playoffs and have to face one of them.

Expert Picks for Playoffs: Philadelphia 13-3, Minnesota 12-4, L.A. Rams 11-5, New Orleans 11-5, Carolina 10-6, Seattle 10-6
