ATS Picks in the Fourteenth Week of the Season

The NFL season is heating up as Week 14 features some huge matchups with playoff implications.

Here are the best ATS bets for this week.

Writer’s ATS Picks for the NFL Week 14

Green Bay Packers (+3.5) at Detroit Lions

Thursday, December 5th, 2024

The Packers are catching points in a divisional matchup against the Lions.

Green Bay’s run-heavy approach could help control the clock and limit Detroit’s high-powered offense.

With their defense improving against the pass, they have a good chance to keep this game within one score.

Historically, divisional underdogs of more than a field goal have performed well late in the season.

Detroit has been one of the NFL’s top teams, but they’ve struggled to cover larger spreads against competitive opponents.

The Lions have only covered once in their last four games when favored by more than three points.

With the Packers trending up, taking the points here provides solid value.

NFL Pick: Packers +3.5

New Orleans Saints (-5) at New York Giants

Sunday, December 8th, 2024

The Saints head into New York as 5-point favorites, and this line reflects the disparity in offensive production.

New Orleans has shown consistency in moving the ball and has a strong defense that could overwhelm the struggling Giants offense.

The Saints’ pass rush should force turnovers, setting them up for a comfortable win.

The Giants have been inconsistent all NFL season, and their inability to score in the red zone remains a problem.

With New Orleans still in the playoff hunt, expect them to stay aggressive and capitalize on a vulnerable Giants secondary.

Laying the points with the Saints is the right move.

NFL Pick: Saints -5

Philadelphia Eagles (-12.5) vs. Carolina Panthers

Sunday, December 8th, 2024

The Eagles are massive favorites at home against the Panthers, and for good reason.

Philadelphia’s offense can dominate in both the run and pass game, making it tough for Carolina to keep up.

With a playoffs spot on the line, the Eagles should come out strong and build a lead early.

Carolina has struggled on both sides of the ball, particularly against elite offenses.

Their defense allows over 130 rushing yards per game, and that’s bad news against an Eagles team that thrives on the ground.

Philadelphia should control this game from start to finish, covering the large spread.

NFL Pick: Eagles -12.5

Cleveland Browns (+6) at Pittsburgh Steelers

Sunday, December 8th, 2024

The Browns are underdogs on the road against the Steelers, but this divisional matchup could stay closer than the spread suggests.

Cleveland’s defense has been one of the league’s best and could create problems for Pittsburgh’s run-heavy offense.

While the Browns have struggled offensively, their defense gives them a chance to keep this game within six points.

The Steelers have relied heavily on their defense to win games, but their offense has shown inconsistencies.

If Cleveland can limit turnovers and convert a few key drives into points, they’ll have a strong chance to cover.

This line feels inflated given the close nature of AFC North battles.

NFL Pick: Browns +6

Seattle Seahawks (+2.5) at Arizona Cardinals

Sunday, December 8th, 2024

The Seahawks are underdogs on the road but have shown improvement in recent weeks, particularly on defense.

Their pass rush could create problems for Arizona’s offensive line, and Seattle’s balanced offense can exploit the Cardinals’ weaknesses in the secondary.

Arizona has been inconsistent this season, and their offensive production has dipped in recent weeks.

With Seattle’s defense trending up and the Cardinals struggling in divisional games, taking the points with the Seahawks is a smart play.

NFL Pick: Seahawks +2.5

Buffalo Bills (-4.5) vs. Los Angeles Rams

Sunday, December 8th, 2024

The Bills are favored at home against the Rams in a game that could feature plenty of scoring.

Buffalo’s offense, led by MVP candidate Josh Allen, is capable of putting up points quickly.

Their defense should bounce back after a tough stretch and create turnovers against a Rams offense that’s struggled with consistency.

The Rams have been hit or miss all season, and traveling across the country to face a motivated Buffalo team is a tough task.

The Bills have covered four of their last five games at home, making them a solid pick to cover the spread in this matchup.

NFL Pick: Bills -4.5

What is ATS in NFL betting? Let’s Find Out

ATS stands for Against the Spread. In NFL betting, it refers to betting on a team to win or lose by a certain number of points, regardless of the actual score.

For example, if the New York Giants are favored by 7 points against the Dallas Cowboys, a bet on the Giants -7 means they must win by more than 7 points to cover the spread. If you bet on the Cowboys +7, they either need to win the game outright or lose by less than 7 points.

To place an ATS bet on NFL Week 14 games, you’ll need to sign up with an online sportsbook that offers NFL betting.

2023 NFL Week 14 ATS Picks: The end of the NFL regular season is fast approaching, with a bunch of teams now barely clinging to life in the playoff races in both conferences. MyBookie Sportsbook NFL Odds, American Football NFL Lines

These are battles that are going to go all the way down to the final week of the season, but we are going to start seeing teams officially eliminated with each passing week. Right now, the Carolina Panthers are the only team to have officially been taken out of playoff contention, but that number is going to start growing, as is the number of teams beginning to clinch their postseason spot. We may see some of that happen in Week 14, but all we are focusing on at the moment is individual NFL bets, so let’s get to our ATS selections for the coming weekend.

Carolina Panthers at New Orleans Saints

The first game that we are going to look at here is one that features the already eliminated Carolina Panthers. Teams will tell you that tanking isn’t really a thing, but I don’t expect to see the Panthers put up too much of a fight in the final few weeks of the season with the #1 draft pick staring them right in the face. The Saints are still alive in a very mediocre NFC South Division, but they really need a win here to keep pace with the Atlanta Falcons. Neither of these teams have been particularly good against the spread of late, but I like the Saints to get the win here, covering in the process.

Minnesota Vikings at Las Vegas Raiders

The Minnesota Vikings have a problem at QB, which is perhaps not that surprising after losing Kirk Cousins for the season. Josh Dobbs made a fairy tale start after being brought in at the last minute a few weeks back, but it has been diminishing returns since then, culminating in a loss to the Bears where he threw 4 INTs. Who gets the start this weekend remains a mystery, but that alone has me more than a little nervous about playing the Vikings, The Raiders haven’t been much better, but playing at home against an unsettled Vikings offense might well mean that a slight upset is in the works. I think the Raiders might actually win this one outright.

Denver Broncos at LA Chargers

Just when it looked as though the Denver Broncos season was fading into oblivion, they reeled off 5 straight wins to get back into the playoff picture. That run ended this past weekend with a loss to the Texans, thanks to a late INT that ended a potential game winning drive. The Broncos now have a very tricky trip to LA to face the Chargers, a team coming off a win and clinging to life in the Wild Card race. The Chargers have underwhelmed this season, but there are some trends that make them an interesting betting proposition against the spread. They are 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 games played in the month od December, as well as being 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games in Week 14.
