Now that we’ve made it to the conference semifinal matchups in the Stanley Cups Playoffs, it’s time to make some predictions. In the Eastern Conference, we have some phenomenal matchups that will have some great hockey. Out West, we’re going to see a lot of scoring. Let’s take a look at some potential Conference finals matchups so you can bet against the NHL Conferences odds.
Who’s It Gonna Be? | NHL Conferences Championship Betting Picks
Eastern Conference
- The Battle of Florida
In one semifinal in the East, the Florida Panthers will take on the Tampa Bay Lightning. Tampa Bay got the better of Florida last year, and the Ice Cats will be looking for some revenge. To get here, the Panthers outlasted the Capitals, while the Lightning had a hard-fought series win over the Maple Leafs.
Neither team is known for their defense. We’re going to see a lot of goals scored in this series. Florida has the advantage, as they have more scoring depth. This will finally be the year that the Panthers break through and get to the conference finals.
- Hurricane Warning
We get to see the Carolina Hurricanes take on the New York Rangers. The Rangers needed a Game 7 overtime win over the Penguins, while the Hurricanes outlasted the Boston Bruins. While we think the Rangers are a good team, we see the Hurricanes getting the better of them in this one.
The Hurricanes have the best penalty kill in the league, and they get a ton of shots off. It’ll be a tight one, but they’ll win the series.
- Cats vs Canes
The Eastern Conference finals matchup that we want to see is the Panthers vs Hurricanes. This should be a fun one to watch.
Western Conference
- Will the Avalanche be singing the Blues?
Two high-scoring teams will square off in one Western Conference semifinal. The Avalanche were the best team out West during the regular season, as they led the conference with 119 points. The Avs have a lot of star power and can light the net up.
The Blues can also score a lot of goals. However, they don’t have as many stars as the Avalanche. The Blues also won the Stanley Cup in 2019, so they know what it takes to win.
This will be a good series, but the Avalanche are just too strong for the Blues.
- The Battle of Alberta
The Edmonton Oilers will battle the Calgary Flames. These two teams split their four regular-season games. The Oilers have a great offense, while the Flames have a stingy defense. We see the Oilers getting the better of the Flames and winning the series in six games.
- High-Scoring Affair
We think that the series that will happen, and the one that we most want to see is the Colorado Avalanche taking on the Edmonton Oilers. There will be a ton of star power in this series, and we will see a ton of offense. We’re excited to see Connor McDavid go up against an Avalanche team that struggles at times on the defensive end of the ice.
