We are about to head into another week of NHL action, and while there are still some postponed games this week, we seem to be getting that much closer to normality. It’s a pretty loaded schedule, so a lot of big games set to go, including several that will have an impact on the divisional and playoff races. With half the season still to come, a lot can change, but it’s still important for teams to rack up those points, even in the midway point of the season. Let’s take a look at the week ahead and pick out some big games to watch and wager on against the NHL Betting Odds.
NHL Betting | Top Must Bet Games From Monday to Thursday
Minnesota Wild at Colorado Avalanche – Monday
This one is huge when you consider just how tight things are in the Central Division right now. The Colorado Avalanche have forged their way to the top after an impressive run of form that has seen them go 8-1-1 in their last 10. The Minnesota Wild have spent some time at the top of the division this season, but they are now down in 4th and 5 points out of the lead. They cannot afford to fall much further, but a trip to Colorado is about the toughest assignment they could have had to start the new week.
Carolina Hurricanes at Boston Bruins – Tuesday
It’s always fun to see two very good teams in a fine run of form go head-to-head. The Carolina Hurricanes are sitting 2nd in the Metropolitan Division, 2 points out of first, after going 7-2-1 in their last 10 games. Boston is down in 4th in the Atlantic Division, but they are making a move, coming into the new week on a 5-game winning streak that has moved them to 8-2-0 in their last 10 games. This is a fantastic matchup.
Toronto Maple Leafs at New York Rangers – Wednesday
Another fantastic Eastern Conference matchup is the highlight of a quiet Wednesday night in the NHL. The Maple Leafs are in 3rd in the Atlantic Division, 6 points out of the top spot, and they are putting together a decent run of form of late, going 6-3-1 in their last 10 games. The New York Rangers have the same record over the last 10 games, but they come into the new week having won 2 in a row, which has them sitting atop the Metropolitan Division. This is a potential playoff preview that we have going here.
Florida Panthers at Edmonton Oilers – Thursday
The Florida Panthers are currently tied for the most points in the NHL, a record they share with division rivals, the Tampa Bay Lightning. They will be on the road this week and will need to make the tough trip through the province of Alberta. After facing the Calgary Flames, they will make the short trip up the road to face the Edmonton Oilers, who are coming into this week on a 6-game losing skid. Yes, the Oilers may be struggling, but that road trip through Alberta is always a tough one.
