It has been a strange sort of season in the NHL so far, with several teams behind the 8-ball due to postponements caused by COVID. They will all catch up in the next few weeks, but before that happens, we have the All-Star Game to look forward to. That happens this weekend, which means we are looking at a short week in the NHL, with things shutting down for the break after the Wednesday night games. While it is a smaller schedule than we are used to, the good news is that there are still plenty of games that catch the eye over the next few days. Let’s look ahead a pick out a few of the best games on this week’s NHL schedule so you can bet against the NHL odds.
NHL Betting | Must Wagers Games This Week (Jan. 31st – Feb. 2nd)
Edmonton Oilers at Ottawa Senators – Monday
You have to say that the Canadian teams have been hit harder than most during the most recent spate of game postponements. It is going to be a busy period for them all once they return from the All-Star break, but getting a win prior to that would be great, too. The Edmonton Oilers are clawing their way back into playoff contention after a poor run of form and come into this week on a 4-game winning streak. They would look to keep that rolling when they travel to Ottawa to face a Senators team that has been playing .500 hockey over the last 10 games.
Florida Panthers at New York Rangers – Tuesday
It’s hard to ignore this game, as it features two of the best teams in the Eastern Conference going head-to-head. The Panthers have a slender lead in the Atlantic Division and come into this week on a 3-game win streak and a run that has seen them win 8 of their last 10 games. While perhaps not as hot at the moment, the Rangers still have a shot at heading into the All-Star break with the lead in the Metropolitan Division. This should be a fun one to watch and perhaps even a glimpse at the Eastern Conference Final.
Washington Capitals at Pittsburgh Penguins – Tuesday
One of the better divisional races going on at the moment can be found in the Metropolitan Division, where 7 points separate 1st from 4th. Two of the teams in that mix will be squaring off on Tuesday night. The Washington Capitals are down in the 4th spot after spending some time on top earlier in the season. They are coming off a win, but they are still just 4-5-1 in their last 10. After going on a great run of form, the Penguins, who are in 3rd place, have lost 3 in a row, so this is something of a must win for both teams.
Minnesota Wild at Chicago Blackhawks – Wednesday
Minnesota is another team who could well benefit from games in hand, although it could be argued that having the points in the bag is better than having games still to play. The Wild have been playing great hockey of late and come into the new week on a run of 5 straight wins. They are 8-1-1 in their last 10 games and are looking to end this part of the season on a high, which they should probably be able to do on the road against the Chicago Blackhawks.
