Betting Week 4 NFL Games

The week’s top quarterback matchup should be a good one.

Coming off a fantastic 4 touchdown performance, Josh Allen heads to Baltimore to take on Lamar Jackson and the Ravens.

Also this week, Jared Goff and the Lions host Geno Smith and the Seahawks and Jalen Hurts and the Eagles travel to Tampa to take on Baker Mayfield and the Bucs.

Check out analysis and picks for NFL Week 4’s top quarterback matchups.

Writer’s NFL Quarterback Picks for the Week 4 Matchups

Bills Josh Allen at Ravens Lamar Jackson

Sunday, September 29th, 2024

Josh Allen was unreal versus the Jaguars.

The Bills quarterback threw 4 touchdown passes to go along with 263 yards.

Allen and the Bills romped over Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars.

But although Allen played great, he gets 1 less day of rest before tackling Lamar and the Ravens.

Baltimore squeaked out a road victory over the Cowboys.

But the Ravens D hasn’t played well this season. Allen wins the matchup.

NFL Week 4 QB Pick: Josh Allen

Seahawks Geno Smith at Lions Jared Goff

Monday, September 30th, 2024

The Seahawks are a much better team than many believed they’d be.

Seattle is 3-0 after dominating the Tua-less Miami Dolphins 24-3.

The Hawks play great defense and Smith has been on point with DK Metcalf.

The Dolphins’ D has been exceptional. It’s helped Jared Goff and the offense for sure.

Detroit, though, hasn’t been as flashy on offense as they were in 2023.

Even if Detroit wins straight up, Smith posts better stats than Goff.

NFL Week 4 QB Pick: Geno Smith

Eagles Jalen Hurts at Buccaneers Baker Mayfield

Sunday, September 29th, 2024

Jalen Hurts led his team to a fantastic 15-12 victory over the New Orleans Saints.

Hurts threw a pick but he also passed for 311 yards.

The key to the Eagles win was Saquon Barkley, who was unstoppable in the Big Easy.

Baker Mayfield played one of the worst games of his career versus the Broncos. Mayfield will bounce back in this.

It won’t be enough to beat Hurts on the stat sheet.

NFL Week 4 QB Pick: Jalen Hurts

Saints Derek Carr at Falcons Kirk Cousins

Sunday, September 29th, 2024

Saints versus Falcons should be a good game.

New Orleans had looked unbeatable in their first two games.

A big time bounce in NFL Week 3 versus the Eagles led toa  3-point loss.

The Falcons almost pulled out the victory over Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs.

The winner of this matchup depends on how you view Carr and the Saints.

If the loss to Philadelphia was anomaly, the Saints QB goes back to throwing TD darts.

If not, Cousins wins the matchup.

The thinking here is that Carr gets the Saints back on track.

NFL Week 4 QB Pick: Derek Carr

Commanders Jayden Daniels at Cardinals Kyler Murray

Sunday, September 29th, 2024

Jayden Daniels was phenomenal versus the Cincinnati Bengals.

The 2023 Heisman Trophy winner completed 21-of-23 for 251 yards and threw 2 TDs.

Daniels also rushed for 39 yards and a TD.

Kyler Murray can do anything. But Murray’s best performance this season was versus the L.A. Rams.

The Commanders have a better defense than Los Angeles right now.

Give JD the victory.

NFL Week 4 QB Pick: Jayden Daniels

Jaguars Trevor Lawrence at Texans CJ Stroud

Sunday, September 29th, 2024

After signing a massive contract and heading into the season with high expectations, the Jaguars season is all but over after starting 0-3.

Trevor Lawrence and the Jags could find a sliver of a silver lining if they manage a win over CJ Stroud and the Texans.

But the Texans head into this after a 34-7 loss to the Vikings.

Stroud will find things easier versus the Jags’ overrated defense than he did against the Bills’ D. CJ posts the better stats.

NFL Week 4 QB Pick: CJ Stroud

How Does a Quarterback’s Performance Impact Game Spreads?

A quarterback’s performance is one of the most significant factors that impacts game spreads in the NFL.

Oddsmakers closely analyze a quarterback’s current form, injury status, and past performances to determine how many points a team is expected to win or lose by.

If a top-tier quarterback is playing well, their team is often favored by more points, while a struggling or injured quarterback can tighten the spread, making the game more competitive from a betting perspective.

For bettors, understanding how a quarterback’s stats, such as completion percentage, touchdown-to-interception ratio, and yards per game, impact the betting line NFL spreads is crucial.

A great quarterback performance can swing the game, potentially leading to an easy cover for the spread.

2022 NFL Betting Analysis & Picks: Top QB Matchups for Week 4

Previous Betting News

There were a lot of low-scoring affairs in week three, with a few surprising wins. There was a big shift in quarterbacks we need to look out for, and which quarterbacks fell down the scale. Let’s take a look at some of the best quarterback matchups in week four and who will come out with the win this week so you can place your bets against their NFL Odds.

NFL Week Four Quarterback Matchups and Betting Predictions

Miami Dolphins vs Cincinnati Bengals -4

This is beyond surprising to see the Miami Dolphins are underdogs this week. The outcome of this game will be centered around the status of Tua Tagovailoa. Tagovailoa left the game on Sunday and entered concussion protocol, but cleared that and returned to the game to help the Dolphins to a win.

The Cincinnati Bengals picked up their first win of the season over the New York Jets on Sunday. Led by two first-quarter passing touchdowns, Joe Burrow and the Bengals offense spurred them to a win. Burrow finished the day with 275 yards passing and three touchdowns.

The Dolphins look to be a contender in the AFC after a hot, 3-0 start and picking up two division wins. If Tagovailoa cannot play, this puts the Dolphins in a bad spot on Thursday night. Until we know more information on the injury, we will have to ride with the Bengals and Burrow.

The Pick: Bengals -4

Buffalo Bills -3.5 vs Baltimore Ravens

Had this game been played in week one or two, we may be seeing a much better game than what we will get on Sunday. Regardless, two of the top teams in the AFC will faceoff and we are going to watch two of the most electric quarterbacks in the NFL battle it out. MVP favorite Josh Allen and former MVP, Lamar Jackson, will square off in this matchup.

As mentioned, the Buffalo Bills are coming off a brutal loss in Miami on Sunday. Not only did the Bills have to battle the heat, but they had to battle injuries as well. As of now, the Bills have five players listed on the injury report. Three of the five players are listed as out and two belong to the defense.

The Baltimore Ravens battled injuries of their own in Foxborough on Sunday. Baltimore escaped with the win but not without harm to their defense and offensive line. So far this season, the Ravens offense has been all Lamar Jackson which will be a big key for the Buffalo defense on Sunday.

The Pick: Baltimore Ravens +3.5

Kansas City Chiefs -2.5 vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

This game is in doubt of when and where it will be played as the storms of Hurricane Ian are approaching the west Flordia shoreline. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are scheduled to host the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night but that may change with the impending weather. Either way, this is going to be one heck of a ballgame between the two teams.

The Chiefs are very upset after losing to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, an 0-2 team at the time. The Chiefs looked to have things rolling after two big wins in the first two weeks. Patrick Mahomes and company will have their hands full with the Tampa Bay defensive units.

Tom Brady and the Buccaneers feel like they have something to prove after a tough home loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. The offense struggled with the limited weapons available for Brady. Reinforcements are headed Brady’s way this week with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin expected to return.

The Pick: Tampa Bay Buccaneers +2.5
