As we head into a new week in the NBA regular season, it’s interesting to look at where each team stands and compare their current record to the win/loss totals that the bookies assigned prior to the start of the year. As is the case every year, some teams will easily go over the win total, while others will fall well short, but there are a few that are going to go all the way down to the wire.
With each team still having roughly 15-17 games, to play, we thought it might be fun to look at some of the totals to see what might happen when it comes to betting NBA for the season.
NBA Total Win/Loss Bets You Can Still Make this Season
Eastern Conference
The Boston Celtics came in with their total set at 54 ½, and while you would still like their chances, they need 10 more wins to cross that total. I think they will get there, but they had better snap out of their 2-game losing skid ASAP.
Another team that needs double-digit wins coming down the stretch is the Philadelphia 76ers, who have 41 wins right now. Their total was set at 51 ½, so there is work to be done, and if they can maintain their recent pace of 7 wins in 10 games, they might just get there.
Looking at teams that might fall under, the Miami Heat are certainly in the mix. Their total was set at 49 ½ and they have just 34 wins. Definitely an under coming there.
The Washington Wizards have a good shot at getting over their predicted point total, which the bookies set at 35 ½. The have 30 wins on the season already, but they have been playing .500 ball over the last 10 games. Still, I think they can manage 6 more wins coming down ti stretch to go over.
Western Conference
Heading over to the Western Conference, let’s start out by taking a look at the Memphis Grizzlies, who have 38 wins on the season at the moment. Their total was set at 49 ½, and while they have some work to do, they might just get there.
Injuries slowed the Phoenix Suns down this season, as they are well off the pace needed to reach their 52 ½ wins total for the year. They have 36 right now and will fall short, even though they are healthy and have been playing great.
It also looks like the Los Angeles Lakers will come up short of the 44 ½ wins the bookies pegged them for this season. They are on 31 wins right now and have lost LeBron to injury, which makes their quest to go over one that will fail.
Okay, here is where things get interesting in the Western Conference. The Portland Trail Blazers are just a half game out of the play-in zone, so they are going to be pushing hard to get above the line. They have 30 wins on the season and need to beat 39 ½ to go over. That might be a bet worth taking.
