After a doubleheader on MNF, we are now 7 weeks into the new NFL season.
With teams now approaching the midway point of their schedule, many are beginning to realize where they are in the grand scheme of things.
My NFL Betting Analysis in Week 8
There are some definite favorites emerging, while others are sinking like a stone and already contemplating how things might need to change once the season comes to an end.
There is, though, still a lot of time for things to change, with most teams just one or two critical injuries away from seeing their season collapse.
No one is getting complacent right now, with every team now planning for Week 8 and the big games that are coming.
It is a busy schedule, so we are narrowing it down to 6 games that we really like.

TNF Minnesota Vikings -168 at LA Rams +136
I think the best way to get rolling with Week 8 is to take a look at the Thursday night game.
The Vikings went into Week 7 as one of only 2 unbeaten teams, but that run came to a loss with a loss to the Detroit Lions in what was arguably the most entertaining game of the week.
This is going to be a real test for the Vikings to see how they react to some adversity.
Will they bounce back quickly, or will this be the start of a freefall?
You can look at the Rams, who are currently sitting at 2-4, and believe that this will be an easy one for the Vikings, but I’m not so sure that will be the case at all.
The Rams have had some serious injury issues this season, but they are coming off a win over the Raiders, so they are sure to be on a high for this one.
Minnesota is favored by 3, with the point total set at 48.
^Philadelphia Eagles +122 at Cincinnati Bengals -150
The road to the playoffs very often relies on the overall state of the division, which is something we are seeing in the divisions that these two teams represent.
The Eagles were supposed to be in a race with the Cowboys for the NFC East, but the Washington Commanders have thrown things into disarray while Dallas has struggled.
The Eagles find themselves sitting in 2nd with a 4-2 record. It’s a similar story in the AFC North, where thew Bengals have struggled early and are now playing catchup to the Ravens and Steelers.
This is a huge game for both teams. The Bengals are favored by 2 ½, with the total set at 47 ½.
^Atlanta Falcons -130 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers +106
We have a very good divisional battle going on in the NFC South, with the two teams tied at the top going head-to-head this weekend.
The Falcons own the tiebreaker in the division, going a perfect 3-0 in divisional games, as well as 4-2 overall.
They are coming off an absolute hammering this past weekend, going down 34-14 to the Seahawks.
The Buccaneers are also at 4-2 and coming off a 41-31 loss to the Ravens on Monday night, where they appear to have lost Chris Godwin to a brutal injury.
The Bucs have already lost to the Falcons this season and really need this one to start tipping the tiebreaker in their favor.
^Buffalo Bills -168 at Seattle Seahawks +137
The safest path into the playoffs is by winning the division and not getting sucked into a Wild Card battle.
Going the latter route often means depending on the results of others and not controlling your own destiny.
Both of these teams are leading their respective divisions, and a win could improve their position further.
The Bills are 5-2 and well clear at the top of the AFC East, with each of the other 3 teams sitting below .500.
It is a tighter battle in the NFC West, but the Seahawks are sitting on top at 4-3 after a blowout win over the Atlanta Falcons this past weekend.
The goal is to get one step closer to a division title while keeping the challengers in the rearview, so this is indeed a huge game for both teams.
^Chicago Bears -142 at Washington Commanders +116
The road back to success is a long one for teams that have struggled for years, and getting back to the top very often comes when a good QB is put in place.
Both of these teams started the season with rookies under center, and you have to say that things are going really well for both teams.
It took Caleb Williams a minute to find his feet, but he seems to be gaining confidence and improving with each passing start.
The Bears may be sitting in last in the NFC North, but they are 4-2 and basically just one game out of the lead.
The Commanders have looked like a new team with rookie QB Jayden Daniels under center, but they are probably going to be without him this weekend, as he was forced to leave with an injury on Week 7.
It’s only a week-to-week injury, so it’s not a total disaster. ^SNF Dallas Cowboys +176 at San Francisco 49ers -220
Prior to the start of the season, many of us probably looked at this matchup and assumed that it would be a pair of teams battling it out for the #1 seed in the NFC.
Both of these teams are nowhere near when they need to be to make the playoffs and go on a deep run and it really is getting to be desperation time for both.
The Cowboys, who are 3-3, are coming off a bye week and should be rested and ready to go.
Things are a little bleaker for the 49ers, who are coming off a loss that dropped them to 3-4.
The good news for them is that the division is tight from top to bottom, so a couple of wins could get them right back in it, but a loss here will push them closer to missing the playoffs altogether.

The end of October marks the end of the first half of the season, and in Week 8, all 32 teams are playing. No bye weeks, a full slate of games stateside, and teams beginning to position themselves for a postseason run.
See below for NFL betting lines and analysis for all the games happening on Week 8 of the 2023 season.
NFL Week 8 Must Bet Games | MyBookie NFL Preview
NFL Week 8: October 26-29, 2023
New England Patriots at Miami Dolphins
NFL Odds: Patriots -4; Dolphins +4 / Patriots +160; Dolphins -190
When: Sunday, October 29, 2023 at 1:00pm ET
Where: Hard Rock Stadium | Miami Gardens, Florida
Even when the Patriots were at the height of their powers, the Dolphins always played them tough. Now the Dolphins are the better of the two teams, yet still, this battle is always fun.
Miami and New England split the two games last year, and don’t be surprised if it happens again in 2023.
The Patriots have a new and far more explosive offense than last year, and that will keep this game close.

Houston Texans at Carolina Panthers
NFL Odds: Texans +3; Panthers -3 / Texans +130; Panthers -150
When: Sunday, October 29, 2023 at 1:00pm ET
Where: Bank of America Stadium | Charlotte, North Carolina
All draft season, the debate between C.J. Stroud and Bryce Young raged on. Who would the Panthers take, and who should they take? In the Carolina draft room, that question was answered, with Young being the first overall pick. Now we get to see it answered on the field.
Two years ago, we had the No. 1 pick, Trevor Lawrence, losing to the No. 2 pick, Zach Wilson. Now Wilson is out of job. We expect both Stroud and Young to have jobs in their third NFL seasons, but who knows which of the two will have the leg up in their first-ever meeting.
Carolina is the better overall team, they are home, and they are the favorite against the Texans.

MyBookie Betting Lines for the Game
New York Jets at New York Giants
NFL Odds: Jets -1.5; Giants +1.5 / Jets -120; Giants +100
When: Sunday, October 29, 2023 at 1:00pm ET
Where: MetLife Stadium | East Rutherford, New Jersey
The Aaron Rodgers addition to the Jets will be judged by the AFC East standings, potential playoff wins, and by how he does in the battle of New York. If he can make it in this game, he can make it anywhere.
In light of the Giants making the playoffs last year, and the Jets making the biggest move of the NFL’s offseason, this is the most important out-of-conference game for the Jets in years. For their fans and for the New York media, this is a must-win. Rodgers cannot lose to Daniel Jones.
With that kind of importance, feel comfortable giving the points. This will be a solid Jets win, setting them up for a good run through the season’s second half.
Cincinnati Bengals at San Francisco 49ers
NFL Odds: Bengals +1; 49ers -1 / Bengals -105; 49ers -115
When: Sunday, October 29, 2023 at 4:25pm ET
Where: Levi’s Stadium | Santa Clara, California
The Bengals and 49ers are two teams that have lost in the Super Bowl in the recent past and are favorites to get back there this season. The collection of offensive weapons in Cincinnati is perhaps the best in the league. The collection of defensive standouts in San Francisco is perhaps the best in the league.
The 49ers are early modest favorites to win at home, and it’s a good spread to bet right now. By Week 8, the quarterback question will have been answered for the 49ers, and they may be three- or four-point favorites by the time this game kicks off.
The Bengals are going to have a good season, but this trip to California is going to be tough.
